It's the way she treats the workers who are less significant than the celebrities. Those that don't have a voice or platform are being treated differently in a bad way. She preaches be kind to everyone and that's exactly what she should do. Not just be kind to celebrities.
Actually, the vast majority of tea that was spilled before this got as big as it did wasn't about the way employees were treated (that came later) but rather stories from people like Saara who were asked to be on the show. People claiming they were told when they arrived that they weren't allowed to look at her or make eye contact with her, stories about how she didn't acknowledge their existence once the cameras weren't rolling, etc. Most recently, an audience member who was chosen to participate in the "Make it Rain" game spoke up about her experience saying she was told before going on stage that she was not to be smarter or funnier than Ellen, and that when the cameras weren't rolling her entire pleasant and happy demeanor would immediately switch off as if it were an act. So Saara's story does differ a bit from what a lot of folks said happened behind the scenes even as a guest.
The fact that a celeb, an invited guest, had a good experience is great but not unusual. Usually thats the case. But the point is that the people who work there all the time are treated like crap. A CELEBRITY who visited for an hour getting good treatment is the bare minium
So you had a good experience... that’s great in my opinion... but the majority haven’t and that’s what’s unfortunate.. you were also quite young when you went on the show so I wouldn’t have expected her to treat you bad in any way
I find it good to hear both sides. Because I don't believe it's that black and white and that she/her staff (wasn't it just her staff and not her?) mistreats everyone. And up until now the excuse to those saying they've had good experiences with her, has been "well it's katy perry, she's rich and famous, ofc she's gonna treat her well", but Saara isn't that. My older brother was once harsh and mistreating, and I purposefully avoided him because of how horrible he made me feel, but years have passed and he’s become much nicer and has apologised for the way he was. And our relationship now is quite well. I hope you and your older sister experience something similar and become amicable, as people really do change. However, I don’t know your situation and it doesn’t always work like that, but, in my situation and perhaps in yours, there’s usually a lot more love there than we think. All the best!
