I’m 6ft and let me tell you there is nothing more confidence destroying than being a tall teenage girl when not only strangers but also relatives and EVERYONE around you comments on how tall you are. As I got older people got used to it and I love being the way I am but I have noticed that if someone’s gonna comment on it its always men who’s opinion no one asked for.

My last girlfriend was about 6', and honestly, that was the first time I realized how self-conscious tall women often feel. As someone who's actually particularly attracted to tall women, I really had to learn how to... navigate around that because you don't want to keep bringing up the one thing your significant other hates about their own appearance even if it's something you actually think is hot.
I'm also 6', by the way, but now that I think about it, the other guys she's dated that I know about were all shorter than her, so there seems to be something to that for sure...

This is a true story from a little over 20 years ago. I dated a 6'2" girl (I'm 5'11") in college. We had been in the same friend group for a little while, but the first time i went to pick her up at her apt she was wearing these flat shoes and i knew better. I looked at her, shook my head and said, "take me to your room and let me see your shoes." We went in to her room and I asked her, "C_______, what shoes do you _want_ to wear?" Bro, she gasped when i asked her that. She picked out a different pair of shoes and was gleaming. I put them on her. Got back out to the truck and she kissed me when i opened the door for her. She may have been the one that got away.

I am 5'10 and I always struggled with insecurity about my height, especially in high school. There were a lot of comments, (particularly from all the boys that I was taller then), and I always ended up feeling like an outcast. I never looked right in pictures, and it caused me so much stress to the point where I would walk hunched to blend in. However, at 20 years old, I LOVE being a tall girl. Much as you said, I often feel safe when walking alone, I am an inconvenient kidnapping target, I help people reach things, and I love how my legs look in pretty dresses and heels (even if I am close to 6'3 in my favourite pair). I would not change anything about it now.. except maybe make the standard size of beds longer as my feet sometimes hang out, and whenever I see a tall girl looking confident in herself, it makes my heart swell with joy

My history teacher (I assume he was like, 5`10 and I'm a full 6) told me that he's scared of me because of my size. Boy did that scar me for quite some time as an impressionable teenager. I felt like a freak that even grown men were afraid of me! Honestly kinda hate him to this day for that
But now that I'm 26, and that came with a lot of introspection and experience, I wouldn't have myself any other way anymore. I ALREADY feel kinda short in comparison after I take my heels off 😂 And then I imagine if I was even shorter than that and like. NOPE. Us tall girlies take our height for granted and we honestly shouldn't! Recall in your head all the situations where you felt threatened or intimidated by someone. NOT looking up at them, but instead looking down or straight is already SUCH a power move. That was honestly my saving grace in an abusive relationship. I didn't feel as powerless and miserable as I would if he was towering over me. Same for my colleagues, classmates, abusive mom (she's also 6 ft lol), just Karens causing troubles out in the wild. It is so damn common to comment on "tallness" regarding taller women. People do not seem to say this to short/shorter women in a similar manner or with negative connotations. It is unreal. The average here is like 169cm for women. Average. I am 175cm. I moved to a smaller city and people are shorter around here in the south. Girls around 155-165cm always say I am so tall. So so tall. Makes me feel like a tower, like they never met anyone as tall as me. I was totally average in my class back up north. Fuck, it annoys me sometimes. On petty days I just call them elves with some attitude added. Calling someone an elf here is a bit mean but playful.

We all want what we don’t have. Women generally love heels, at least once in a while on occasions. I don’t remember the last time I wore them. I’m 5’8, almost always the tallest in my friends except maybe few times. My hb is barely few cm taller and we look just about the same. He couldn’t care less and I don’t care much either but when it comes to heels I don’t wear them, just feels weird, not worth it… although it makes me sad If I start thinking about it bcs I’m very girly and wear a lot of dresses. Always had to have shoes I didn’t really like. I’m 40 now so Ive grown to not think much about it but as a 18-20 yr old I definitely remember feeling sad often.

I'm short (4'5") and it's frustrating how many people point it out, and how they make judgements based on my height. I've never been jealous of tall people though, because I know they have it just as hard as I do.
We both have trouble finding clothes, making stuff for the average height person work for us, we both get stared at, made fun of, get our heights commented on all the time, it's like we're two halves of the same circle.
It's not all bad though, you listed some positives of being tall, and one big positive about being short for me is the fact that I can get out of talking to salespeople and just pretty much anyone who doesn't know me because they think I'm a kid and want to wait until there's an adult around, I hate being trapped in awkward conversation with people, so I see that as a huge upside.

I'm 6'1", 185cm, can relate to this a lot! It was quite tough as a teenager, when I was 16 I was already 6ft, and it being commented on wherever I went, sticking out like a sore thumb when you're shy and awkward and don't want anyone looking at you! For what it's worth, I'm in my 30s now and those comments have dropped off considerably. But I still wish I could blend into the crowd sometimes!
But it's so true how people feel the need to comment on your appearance out of nowhere! And there's no good response to "you're so tall!" it's like "yes..." 😂
Positives like you said; reaching things, being able to see at concerts, and less able to be bodily intimidated by someone.
Negatives: Fitting into seats on buses and planes!! Clothes!! More difficult to find a partner.
Wish we could have a group somewhere to discuss where to find clothes!

I love this video and your message here! Totally relate. As 5’10 I always avoid heels etc unless going out with other tall women. It’s empowering to be tall and strong for sure, my figure looks great, and for all those other reasons you mentioned - but as women I feel we are raised to desire to be small, take up less space, be delicate and girlish. It feels a bit dysphoric when I feel alienated from being those things sometimes. It runs both ways - I get hit on a lot but it’s usually genuinely by funny, confident and good hearted men (or women, they love it 🤣) but I don’t have creepy men try to follow me home, or pursue me despite rejection, or attract those weird alpha male Andrew Tate kind of men that my beautiful much shorter friends do. Despite how strong and fit they really are, something about their implied physical weakness attracts a different type of man. Never as an adult woman have I felt in danger walking home at night or physically weak around men. So that I believe is a gift to cherish.

" 😂 (for fun I'll have a go at what might have been next) 😉 " .. it really doesn't matter, because each and everyone of us is uniquely different, yet we try to find something in common that we can relate to, while creating memories before our life ends, finding true meaning of life in the end being all about the love we shared."
I'm average height while most of my family from both my parents, my siblings, my nieces and nephew are 6' tall or taller. Interesting is that my maternal grandfather was average height .. meaning like 5' 8" while he adored my grandmother as she was tall .. at least 6' tall. Like my grandfather, I am a photographer, writer, or just call me a journalist. I am also Intergendered as I was born with all the male parts but jumbled up with female as if a twin sister just didn't develop? Who knows? The doctor cut out the female organs. That's another story for me to tell because I endured multiple surgeries through out my life.
The vast majority of people can't tell because .. well, I wear pants. 🤣 I identify as male and have since childhood, but I know I am different. In childhood through out school, I did get bullied. You are inspiring me to come out fully as exactly who I am because it has been so difficult to find love in a World where so many people want to categorize and label everyone as either male or female when we all have the hormones estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone in us. Every single one of us is unique. What brings us all together is that we all want love. The older we get, the more we realize that a lifetime is not long at all. Leave love and memories!

im 6ft here and completely relate to the complexities & nuances of what you've discussed here! On the flip side, something I've noticed particularly with my short female (adult) friends is how often they are infantilised by men! Not being taken seriously, more easily pushed around, more objectified (e.g. I've seen men (strangers) fully pick up short female friends without asking like what??????) and I generally find that the height, especially on a woman, commands more respect. I find that men will talk to me like im an equal (or 'one of the guys' which is itself a conflicting sensation) vs how you can see they are registering they are talking to a woman, or someone who they deem 'lesser' than, when speaking to short women - its sad really when you come to notice this things but its made me able to call out that behaviour to men & stick up for women

I find you mesmerizing your quick-witted, smart, very accepting of your height. I see why you are successful at this . I wish I was younger, I have typically dated women taller than I am and actually was married to a girl very close to 6 ft. The long-term relationship we had just simply faded apart it had nothing to do with our height difference. I'm 5'8 and she is 5'11 and a little bit more. Before she met me she always wanted somebody tall and wouldn't you know it, when we got divorced she found somebody tall and married him and no it wasn't a fling or anything like that, it just happened a few months after we were divorced.

There are guys into tall women out there, but you have to make sure they 1) have other traits you are looking for not just "ok with tall women" and 2) they aren't one of the ones looking to fetishize you bc they are definitely out there (though I feel you will quickly find they do not have the personality you're looking for anyway)
I'm 180cm and have a friend who is a little taller, which is nice, but dammit if she doesn't have small feet so she has a much better pick of shoes 😭
The average height around here (midwestern US) for women I don't think is that tall but I definitely see many as tall or taller than I am when I'm out, which makes me happy 😊

"Just like how God did with you" I'm DEAD, I audibly and unexpectedly snorted at that remark.
God didn't forget MY legs (thankfully) but LOL that's the wittiest thing I've heard all year xD
Side note - I'm not as tall as you but being 5'8 and bi-racially Asian has been a challenge. It's been a huge insecurity my entire life and even as a toddler I dreamed to "grow up" to be small and cute :')
I love your positivity and I hope to remember your encouragement every time my brain tries to be mean to itself for being relatively far from the ground.

yes! It keeps surprising me how many people just comment about my height like of course i know that im tall. And its even more annoying when people assume that im insecure about that. Its cool that i never have to worry that can i see a gig in the audience

Watched 5 of your videos starting with I'm genetically male, and I couldn't stop laughing (except that first one of course). You basically took all the personality that was available for other people being born in the same year you were😂. Had to subscribe, and I rarely do that
