I wish I had the time to research the pronunciation aspect, but my time is spent pulling all the info in these videos from the country’s banks of issue, Wikipedia or other collection type websites where sometimes the info is very limited, or in some cases I just got the info wrong when compiling my notes or during filming. Lastly, if anyone is looking to acquire banknotes you can either contact your local bank’s foreign exchange department or an online foreign currency exchange service. Then you have to see if they will be able to obtain the individual banknotes you are looking for. Good luck!

The clear strip just came out in the last 5 years and it’s sooo pretty but we had to update all the machines that automatically swallow bills for you (atms, automated train ticket dispensers, etc) because they kept spitting the new notes 😂

They got their priorities straight! All we have here is sometimes a URL for a bill tracking database will be written on a dollar bill, so that you can enter its serial code and view where it has circulated.
Fun fact: The Australian five dollar note - from 2016 onwards - can be used as a 'stylus' to play a vinyl record. If the note is in good condition, firmly press one of it's corners onto a spinning record and watch in amazement as the note's material resonates and amplifies the sound :)

The yellow circles you see all over the banknotes are called "Omron Rings" and are a copy protection. Every digital scanner or copier recognises these rings and won't make valid copies of the banknotes.
As an Australian i am really proud of our new notes and how good they look our old ones looked similar but less interesting the new ones look way better

The little transparent maple leaf on the top left of the Canadian bills smells like maple syrup when scratched! However the scent fades the more its scratched. the cloudier it is, the more it has been scratched and the less it smells of maple syrup. No im not making this up lmao

23:57 is the maze at the back of blenheim Palace. 25:56 is based of a place called Margate in South England, the building in the back is the 'Turner contemporary arts gallery' and the lighthouse is Margate lighthouse which Turner frequently visited. Also another security measure is a set of dots which appear quite frequently, hence why some of these notes have circles all over them
Finally seeing Brazil represented in one of the videos is so cool! I like collecting old coins from here, oldest one I have dates back to 1888, it's kinda rusty but it was a special type from when slavery was prohibited... 1:03:32 - By the way, 2 new banknotes have appeared relatively recently: 200 and 2000 rubles, but their design is very different from these three bills. Although there are watermarks in the form of weaves, a ribbon and one of the images on the lumen.

Yep, the raised bumps on aussie notes are for the visually impared, but are also a security feature which normally cannot be replicated in forged notes! The same goes for the holographic images and the windows! I dont know if this specific feature is exclusive to our older notes, but you used to be able to hold up a banknote to a light and a little identification symbol would be darker than the lit up note (it was an emu i think) and it was one of the security features of the old polymer notes before we got the bigger windows!

What I love about Australian bank notes is each one is a very distinct colour. Impossible to mix them up (unless you’re colour blind I guess).
They are also different sized and have indentations to indicate which note it is for the blind

Finally seeing Brazil represented in one of the videos is so cool! I like collecting old coins from here, oldest one I have dates back to 1888, it's kinda rusty but it was a special type from when slavery was prohibited...

1:03:32 - By the way, 2 new banknotes have appeared relatively recently: 200 and 2000 rubles, but their design is very different from these three bills. Although there are watermarks in the form of weaves, a ribbon and one of the images on the lumen.

I love our Canadian polymer bills, but I really miss the old paper five dollar bill, as it had a picture of kids playing pond hockey on the back, and that’s about the most Canadian activity I know.

Fun fact: There are microscopic words on the Aussie bills that apparently have stories from the individual on them. I haven’t tried to read it since year 2. I don’t know if that is still the case.

Fun fact about polymer notes. If you walk to the shop with one in your jeans front pocket, by the time you arrive at the shop, it will have disappeared.
Yep, the raised bumps on aussie notes are for the visually impared, but are also a security feature which normally cannot be replicated in forged notes! The same goes for the holographic images and the windows! I dont know if this specific feature is exclusive to our older notes, but you used to be able to hold up a banknote to a light and a little identification symbol would be darker than the lit up note (it was an emu i think) and it was one of the security features of the old polymer notes before we got the bigger windows!
