I stumbled upon Ephemeral Rift when I watched his Capitalist ASMR video 4 years ago, and I’ve been watching and subscribed ever since. Easily one of my favorite RUclipsrs.
As someone who's fished their entire life, I never thought that of all the relaxing moments and things to do with fishing (flowing water, wind, just the general sounds of nature, zoning out staring at a bobber, waiting to feel a strike on a lure or on bottom... anyone who knows what I mean *know*) that I'd ever lump in the sounds a reel makes in with them but E, as usual, finds a way.
It is simply beyond human comprehension why anyone would ever unsubscribe from this channel. Uncle Rift can make an ASMR Video with almost anything. He's like the MacGyver of ASMR

i have been around from near enough the very, very start. might of been his first chris crinkle video? although i may of already been watching him before then, its just the earliest one i can remember. i literally discovered this guy when i was like 15/16 - im 25 now! this man basically introduced me to real asmr, after watching some whisper videos by the whispering willow. love you uncle E! anyone else remember the fountain pen dude also? older guy that made asmr on his collection of new and old fountain pens, and it was just great. got a similar vibe with rift, but his creativity and drive, determination, consistency, whatever you wanna call it, to make these videos near daily and each one being a new idea or an addition to the lore, man. ER deserves a documentary, whos gonna make it? if it isnt me, pls put my name in the credits at least lol! cause what a doc it would be, a deep dive into the lore, the person behind the camera, behind the scenes footage, and a closer look into his real life. freshman year of high school, my math teacher took the last week of classes to teach us all how to solve rubik's cubes, and it served as our 'final' exam. honestly, it wasn't too hard to memorize the algorithms - if my idiot ass could do it when i was 15, i'm sure anyone can. the main trick is to solve it in layers, rather than faces.

Your calming voice is enough to tolerate the traumatic sounds of the cheap Rubik's cube but I can't just stay there and watch 😂 i did took time away pre-cov to learn how to solve cubes so I can only say how easy it is once you really give it a try, it doesn't take smarts just patience and memory to learn and remember the algorithms! I believe in you Uncle E!

The first ER video I ever watched was Dr. Cthulhu's ASMR checkup, which is still my favorite ER video.
It’s easy to learn. Once you understand how it works you can do anything with the cube. Crosses, flowers, solve it 180 degrees out, etc. Super cool!
