Sounds great. Congrats. There's something about single Pickup guitars that makes the playing experience feel more organic. I've started loading up Scratch Plates with different configurations of pickups, pots, Caps, and a single "quick connect" so I can quickly convert my one Strat into many different Strats. 😎

Dude...heeeell yeah. You are speaking my language on this one, bro. I have built a couple of guitars. Everything doesn't go perfect but you end up loving it just the same. I wanted a Flying V back when Epiphone did their Korina guitar releases but I couldn't afford one so I used some spare parts I had lying around and bought a kit on Amazon. It ended up around 400 (dollars) for everything and I now I have this awesome cherry red flying V. Super fun, super rewarding, like you said. Take care

Nice build, dude! As someone who grew up around craftsmen, it always fascinates me when I see people build stuff. Would love to build a kit one day, but too bad I have to import them from other continents, with conversion rate and import tax being a pain in arse, which made buying cheaper guitars and modding them a better alternative.
Maybe one day, when I'm more financially capable and there being a decent ergonomically shaped kit, I might just buy and assemble one.

The EMG Doesn't have adjustable poles, yet they are Steel anyway. Anything in the ballpark of winds you want with adjustable poles would offer fine-tuning per string. The EMG might have that 81 style round freq response curve that peaks at ~1kHz and rolls of the bass and highs, but that's easy to get with a passive pickup that has peak in the 2kHz range, like an SD distortion. Use the pot resistance value and/or an added resistor to roll off more high-end if you want, and use a cap in series to roll off the bass.

@@JackTaylorGuitars When I was in my early 20s I wanted to build a guitar with my Dad. And I would love to do it in the future.
I've always wanted a guitar with a sustainiac pick up that has a ridiculously heavy sound like bareknuckle pickups or fishman active modern pickups.
I do also love a good tele shape guitar.
I've been looking at the Ichi 10 Ibanez quest. It has 3 single coil pickups which is the total opposite to what I normally play. I tried one at a local guitar shop and fell in love . It was setup really well and actually plays better than my Ibanez quest did before setup. Now after setup they play like a dream!

This is more of a 80's inspired budget 1H super strat that is painted surf green. I only say budget because 1H was always the cheaper option in the 1980s and early 90s.
The anatomy of a Delonge Signature Stratocaster is defined by hardtail, CBS 70's style big headstock and the Seymour duncan invader humbucker.
Less than 16k passive is too hot so you put in a EMG?
A highest specd Tom delonge stratocaster would be ordering a masterbuild Fender custom shop strat.
Or to make budget friendly take a Professional II make a build with Sperzel locking tuners.

Lake placid blue squier tele body, 22 frets 2011 fender telecaster black top neck, black pick guard, fender locking tuners and the star of the show, a single di marzio chopper T in the bridge position. Loosely inspired by pop punk signatures guitars, it’s just a riff machine

Excellent idea. There are a few cheap tools I got to make sure assembly goes smoothly, and a safer method for drilling the neck holes. GA doesn't offer much wood variety, but the prices are good. Stainless ball end frets are a good idea. Roasted-Maple may be more stable, but it also tends to have a slightly brighter tone, and the increased resonance absorbs more lower midrange. Not that different, but something to consider. The FB wood might overshadow those effects anyway.
