I replaced mine and it's having the same issue. Not sending power. When I power up that wire with the tester, it fires and runs like a bat out of hell because the tester sends too many volts. Have you experienced this?
Very helpful video thanks man my car is literally going thru this right now it cranks but I don’t hear the fuel pump sound and now I kno what I’m working with I really do appreciate it
@MrTikititiki 1987 Accord, The main fuel relay is in the Drivers side footwell of your car right behind the Cruise control unit. But the test should work, also check that it could just be a bad ground connection before buying a new relay, (I currently just went through the same thing with my 1991 Accord)
Thanks for the video. If it's intermittent, I'd recommend just changing it due to the fact the fault condition won't always be present, and you'll be second-guessing whether or not you had good contact on your test lead. From what I've read this almost always starts out as an intermittent issue.
God bless you !Thank you brother!I took my 00 accord to the Honda dealer pay them $100.00 for the diagnose and they could figure out the problem.I had this car for over 3 years and it did exactly what you said .In hot days it will stall and when I leaf the car sit for a while it will turn over. Thanks Again!
My 2000 Honda CRV cranks and cranks, but will not start. But when it starts about every other day. It runs well so I don't think it's the fuel injectors. Somehow the spark is not getting to the plugs. I just put a new distributor on itribute are on it. Is it a fuel pump problem? Who is the problem you just spoke about in your video
I have a 98 Civic CX hatchback 1.6L D16Y7 engine. Is this issue where the engine just dies for no reason whatsoever? It's not a temp sensor. Sometimes it starts sometimes not. Just put almost $2K into it as I need a good reliable transportation car for long distances. Thanks in advance!!!👍 My gut feeling is saying it's this as I hear a clicking noise by the ECM.
I have a 98 honda civic dx I'm having a no spark no injection pulse. I tested the F/I main relay in my other honda so that relay is good. then I stuck a complete brand new distributor in it and still no spake what's going on? Would a bad crank sensor or back cam sensor do this?
Those same cables were not lighting up on my Honda accord so I bought another main relay and it still gave the same problem with those same cables not lighting up, do you think it's a problem with the cables instead of the main relay? Please get back to me, thank you!
My 99 Civic Si intermittently stalls, and I noticed that immediately after it stalls and I try to turn it back on I do not hear the fuel pump prime and it cranks But doesn't start. I have to wait a few minutes before it starts again. This leads me to believe it's the main relay, it just isn't bad enough to where it won't start but it's getting there.
Charles J Ciccione did u ever find out the problem I have a 1998 Honda Civic DX hatchback and with the same problem the first wire turns on and then turns off the second wire stays on constantly with ignition on
Hey man, Seeing if you can help me out with getting my 2005 honda civic started. It has absolutely no power (not even to the interior lights or headlights). The battery is full charged (12.7V), even when getting a vehicle to boost it, there is still no power anywhere. I checked the main fuses from the battery which is a 80A fuse that goes to a 40A fuse. With my multi-metere I checked and there is power on both sides of both fuses. I was thinking it is the ignition switch, but not sure how to check that? But I figured if it was the ignition switch then I should be able to have power to my interior light at least. Please give me any advice as its driving me crazy and not making any sense! lol.. Thanks.
we did this test, the first wire that we tested yellow and white I believe, the test light came on with the ignition off and stayed off when you turned it the ignition on. is it good or bad?
i have a japanese model 1992 honda accord. it does not start up, but engine does turn over.do you recommend changing the relay. and do you have any websites i could purchase one?
it looks like you help me with my 2003 honda civic problem. at the moment the car is cranking but no start. already check ignition pulse and spark, its seems like the spark can not burn fuel. can you tell me what else to check. i was looking for the main relay but could not find it. thanks...
Es1cv I have a 2004 civic but will sometimes not start. I was told that 2004-05 civics don't have a main relay by the Honda dealer. The car runs great and never stalls but sometimes won't start but will turn over.

Mario Cyr Hi Mario, I have an '01 Civic EX and the fuel pump relay is under the glove box. 2000 and newer Hondas don't have them where this video shows. Three about 1 inch square boxes in a row. Mine are black, blue, and burgundy color. The blue one is the one you want to replace. Note the holding clips, they don't just pull out. About $22 on eBay. Keith from Arizona
I need help I have a 2000 honda civic dx automatic the problem I'm having is its doesn't Start or crank not even the light won't turn on when I turn the key on the ignition I have no idea where to start please some reply ....thanks
My 2004 civic coupe will start sometimes and other times it won't start no matter how long you turn it over. It runs and drives great never stalls or anything. I was told by Honda that it doesn't have a main relay so I'm thinking it's the fuel pump relay. I can hear the fuel pump Come on for a few seconds when I turn the key. Can you help me?
not full test, you just test here input power to relay from ignition, but not tested output from it to engine, pump, ignition and etc. i can get inut voltage but without output in will not control anything.
Great info! Just a question though, on that first yellow green wirein the corner. When I turn the ignition on I get power on that wire but only for a second and then the wire goes dead no power. On the other yellow green wire the power stays on just fine. Do you know where I go form there?
So I tested the yellow and green on a 2000 civic and it receives power then a few moments later it turns off without switching the key. Ever seen this? Car cranks but won't start. Has spark, and fuel pressure.
i did a headgasket and after installing it crank no start no spark. popped cap, rotor set screw fell out rotor in three pieces. junkyard replacement, got spark, lost fuel pump and injectors, lost main relay, fixed main relay got fuel back and had spark and compression but it was dumping fueln washed the cylinders down lost compression. trans fluid cylinders and turn by hand forever until i got compression back, did a dab of lucas two stroke oil to help bond with any remaing fuel and give some slide to the cylinder walls, again ton of compression. starter motor having trouble turning over, check battery, dead cell, neighbor helps me jump start for more cranking amps just to see if she will run. well he crossed the f n wires and touched the hot cable to the ground post and hit the firewall at the same time. no crank no spark no fuel. pulling my hair out by this point somehow not sure how i have got a cranking back but no spark or fuel still. so a re solder on the relay is the only thing i can think of. i dont think its ignition because the car cranks everytime i try to crank it. no wiggle key cutout, no false or nonstarts with key in start but dont have proper power to my relay according to chilton but my wires are in totally different order than any engine diagram in chilton. scouts honor. dosent match any diagram at all at all... wtf honda your letting me down
I got a 2001 honda civic, when i turn the ignition to the run position, and leave it there it has a crank no start condition, then I turn the key/ignition off then back on it will start, any ideas?
Check and Clean fuel filter and pump maybe not enough pressure can stay in the hose for a long time but when you just send it you get it to start cuz the pressure is best or highest at the beginning so possibly wven o ring somewhere in fuel delivery
I have a 2003 honda accord ex . 2.4 I was driving and all of a sudden the car stalled on me . I tried to crank it a few times and it started and cut back off in like 5 sec and after that it hasn't started yet. After I try to crank it there is a buzzing from the ignition until I turn it back to the 1 position. Also when I turn to the 2 position the "D" gear indication comes on for a few seconds and then goes off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . I changed the ignition switch but that did not help.

Just want to ask if it ticks when you turn your keys into ignition?

Io ho lo stesso problema adesso, tu sai dove si trova nella Honda Civic coupé 2008? Dove si trova questo relè PGM-FI nella mia Honda Civic del 2008?

Trovato?
I have a 2002 Honda Civic and mine is not there. I'm thinking the previous owner moved the main relay somewhere else
Thanks, just made 50$ because of your vid
I had to same issue...it turned out to be the earthing problem which was the Earth wire on the thermostat housing had snapped
would that cause it to not get fire??i have a 93 integra and know about the fuel pump relay is this differnt than a fuel pump relay??
Nice, to test a starter relay is to use a test light and not to crank the engine coz if you do, you'll know that the starter relay works..
i have problem on honda accord 1987-you think this test work for my car?
My 94 civic ex relay checks good but there is no power on the connector on the fuel pump.

HI bro, my car's main relay have the same problem. Did you end up buying another one?
Ivaan Garcia Apolinar did you buy a new one? Fixed?
One is meant to stay on and the other is only supposed to prime the fuel pump for a couple seconds and then turn off. This is normal
