O.M.G. YESSSSSS!! We're the bridge generation. I'm 46 and just about a year into full on middle-aged confusion and crotchety whininess in public at tech, much to the "omg" of my Gen Z kids. At least I can laugh at myself! The latest is my mom got an email for Arby's app owners, for a discount. She could *NOT* hear me that she had to get the app, so the email would send her into the app for the discount CODE. The cashier doesn't have a way to see your pretty email with the "redeem here" button. 🤣 Just me repeating, "mom. Do you have the app?" and she kept answering that she set up an account but couldn't get in. I told my son to engage her next visit to get that squared away.

THIS literally happened to me this week. I go over to my parents house. My mom had just purchased a new laptop and was working on setting it up, so I asked her how it was going and she answered, "I'm really frustrated, I can't seem to set up my fingerprint password." I'm like, "Hmm, shouldn't be too hard, let me see what you're doing." I walk over and there she is tapping the screen violently and saying, "see it's not working!" My dad, mind you, who has an almost identical laptop with fingerprint sensor, is like, "I've tried it on her laptop too and I can't get it either. We've tapped and tapped on the screen and nothing." So I'm like "Oh..My...Goodness...you guys do realize the sensor is on the keyboard so tapping the screen will do nothing riiiiggghhhhtttt?"
So they figure that out. Two seconds later, my mom is frustrated again...."I'm typing in my password for my PIN and it's not working. I'm so over this!" So I'm like, "Mom, what exactly are you typing in?" She lists her password in words. At this point I just inhale and realize it's going to be a while with this setup of hers after I inform her that a PIN is a personal identification NUMBER, so it was never words it's only numbers.

As someone who works in customer service for a fairly big publishing house that also offers digital services, I can't tell you how many times I have had to explain to boomers what an "app" is. There's also the frustration from my side not being able to see what the hell they are clicking/tapping on their screen on their computer or tablet while on the phone, and then they just yell at me that nothing is working and it is all my fault. Even asking "what exact text do you see on your screen now?" makes them very confused. I swear, if I only could see what they are doing, I could solve cases like 90% quicker.

this older gentleman came into my restaurant the other day and wanted to see our menu on his phone. I told him to open his internet browser so he could type in our website. he proceeds to pull up yelp and point to our "menu" which is just pictures of our food that customers snap and that yelp takes and "creates a menu" but it's not accurate and the prices are wrong as well. I tell him to open internet safari, and what to type in to find our website. he once again opens yelp...I'm like dude...how do you search for websites, (I have an android and he has apple and I'm not tech savvy at all even at 29) he has zero clue what im talking about...I'm scrolling through the apps on his phone looking for safari and it's not there...I'm like ughhhh take a damn togo menu then hahaha

I usually tell people to just go to the App Store or Google Play Store and download a browser. In your case either Safari or Opera, like you were looking for. But since I only can ask what the customer tells me is on their screen it is super frustrating to advice further, since I'm on Android. They usually mix up apps and general iPad/iPhone user interface. Like, "if I could see what the hell you're doing I could tell you what you are doing wrong but over the phone I have no clue".

There is only one inaccuracy, when the total is $20.00 or less they will only have $100 bills.

2:57 I hate when this happens. When you’re trying to explain something, and someone starts saying “oh is that a ___” or “so that’s a ___ you’re using” and I don’t even know what to say.🤣

When boomer tried to give millennial directions. So accurate! I be like, can you just give me the physical address? I will never understand why people are so opposed to giving a physical address 😂
