Reckon your around 23mins.. nice & steady pace.. The OLD Guards depot has changed a bit since I left it in 86.. The range work in the background was nice to hear.. I remember many a run up & down the dreaded Sandhill.. & the sisters.. hated at the time, all character building at the end..Cracking video cheers

i was at pirbright in 1978 junior welshguardsmen them sandhills would make me cry today the young soldiers are lucky to have you as an instructer the way motivate and encourage the recruits well done fabziy
Huge respect for doing that, hard to do when the easier option is to stop and even harder when you're carrying kg upon kg. Had to thumbs up this vid and subscribe, should be proud of yourself and all the achievements you've worked hard to achieve.

Wow! Well done. Huge respect to you all and thank you for everything you do! I’m doing a half marathon next week carrying a 20kg bergen. Will try and run some of it but will probably yomp the majority of it.

Great vids - do like your style. Ex RCT myself and my moto was why run around when i can sit around - that why i was a driver.
I remember when i was in Berlin, we would have if not out working, Wednesday half day of for sports, you could do what sports you liked, you had to tell your Sgt what you was doing, i decided to do Egyptian PT. I think my Sgt did not want to look stupid, so he never asked what it was. I got away with lying on my bed for around 2 months until he found out.

Certainly one of the more challenging tests we also had rifle and helmet. This test should be mandatory for all soldiers as it reflects moving quickly to battle carrying your kit. Not like most the fluffy tests in training shooes

@@nosamsemaj9150 Nice one bro. I'll definitely do that. Best advice I've heard is to get some boots asap and got for short runs in em to condition your feet. Also maybe start with a light ruck cause even 5 kg of extra weight can make a huge difference to your endurance and run times. God speed man.

I've just got back from prac today.
Best advice I can give is maximum effort bro, you'll do more then what is stated because you will get shown the route as a squad for the 2km and the steeplechase before your timed run so get some long distance running in before you go
And for the fam run attack the hills aggressively and catch your breath coming down good luck mate 👍

I remember being at ATR Pirbright in the 90s but the worst place ever to do CFT is Hohne in Germany. Its almost all on sand and saps the energy from you!!
Back when the CFT was 8 miles, mit helmut und veapon! ;) Best bit was a few beers in the mess in the evening.

I was a adult instructor within the ACF the cadet training team from the regular army. They was always out running 🏃♀️ every morning.

we had to do what was called a march and shoot . 3 mile run , over the assault course ( about a mile long )and then drop onto the range and do a shoot test . 1973 at pirbright . welsh guards .

I see the sandhill being referred to in this, but does the sandhill itself actually still get used ? It was the source of a LOT of pain for us in basic when Pirbright was the Guards Depot 😱🥵
Yep used to be constantly bounced up and down that bugger when it was the Guards Depot!
