Yeah you have the free will to speak you mind on an artist but so does everyone and everyone has different taste. Critiquing is not a job. Not when it comes to music. No one person’s playlist is better that than others. Music is too subjective to rank one song over another. The classic “Who’s your favourite band/artist?” Differs from person to person. I realize this is only a reaction video, but for I'll explain for those who don't know. At 8:47, Eminem employs a metaphor to suggest that his albums are high quality compared to mainstream, as a porterhouse is a premier, short loin beef cut. However, this is not the way his latest works are perceived by the people, and he’s comparing the way a client would not be happy with just having a SLIDER-a miniature burger/bun-as their meal, to how the listeners were disappointed by his works. At 9:25. The media appears to be a regular target throughout Kamikaze as a whole, particularly radio personality Charlamagne tha God who publicly criticized Em’s BET Cypher and also named him one of the worst artists of 2017. Eminem is angry at all the critics saying Revival was a failure when he knows they didn’t fully understand what he was putting down. He often writes lines with triple or quadruple entendres that no critic seem to mention or care about. He knows they aren’t listening and catching his complex rhyme schemes, and if they understood what he was doing they wouldn’t be saying he’s lost his touch. Its not that hes not owning up to it, or blames people for his album being trash. And lastly, not cause you missed it but its quite a bit of info on why Em hates Charlamagne. At 11:20 Charlamagne specifically criticized this bar in Eminem’s BET cypher: "Racism’s the only thing he’s fantastic for ‘Cause that’s how he gets his fuckin’ rocks off and he’s orange Yeah, sick tan" Here, Em is making a play on words comparing Donald Trump to the “Thing” from the Fantastic Four comics and related media. “[F]antastic for” is a clear play on Fantastic Four, “gets his rocks off” is a euphemism for an orgasm and a play on the fact that the Thing is a rock monster, and the Thing and Donald Trump are both shades of orange. However, Charlamagne called this line a reach as he felt that The Thing was in fact “a yellowish, beige color.” Em sarcastically suggests that Charlamagne is colorblind and gives examples of equally false claims about the color of particular objects. Just wanted to share, I was bored.

@Dick Dastardly Do you not understand that George already has an opinion of an Eminem song before he's even heard of it? He literally despises Eminem for some reason and it's evident in all his reactions to Eminems songs. He tries to critique every little thing and most bars go over his head.
Guy with the glasses thinks too much of himself. Its offputting. He should be more humble. The guy with the beard seems fun, and hes entertaining to watch
EMINEM: -won alot of awards -broke records -known as the best rapper -made millions rapping -best lyricist -actor -stole every show or record he is featured on GUY WITH FAKE EYEGLASSES: -reacts to videos I would pick and listen to eminem anyday.
Dude on the right hates Em. You can't criticize an artist for being "him" which seems like you were doing, but that's what you're good at like Em said. Thank Em for your almost one million views on this video. Revival was a mature and storytelling album addressing today's societial issues, but since today's generation are more tuned to "childish" and mumbling crap, he is mocking today's generation music with their style and flow, while having great writing plays. Pretty genius to me if you ask me.
If your'e an Eminem fan you should know that all of his old music tops all of his new music. That should be clear as day. No one hates Em. Em quoted himself he's just "rewriting the same old song", with a different girl on the hook, that's why they have no replay value. And it seems like every time someone critiques Em, a stan whose living in the past gets in their feelings. If it's not trash then it's recyclable.
Manny Lopez nahh.... this revolutionized version of him is better. Your logic is mediocre at best. When you do an art for so long you perfect it, not the other way around.
5:00 Em gets so descriptive about something you don't want to hear and does it so well it creates this dissonance of satisfying flow and disturbing lyrics to make you feel uncomfortable, then he brings it home with a punchline to dispel the tension.
The guy on the right is exactly the kinda people Em made this album for....he made revival which is full of mature artist kinda content which was criticized by these people and now that he made the juvenile kinda content is also getting criticized by people like him....not hate posting but you're just being judgemental but you can never be satisfied.... what's a artist gotta do?
For real. I'd like to here these people's opinion on what a "good" Eminem album is then, because he was straight-up juvenile, overall, on everything up until Recovery, then people criticized Recovery for Em trying too hard to have meaning and substance. Like, what?! Lol MMLP2 though was a beastly fuckin' album, could've used less Rick Rubin influence and more Dr. Dre influence on it though like Revival.
@@loganleatherman7647 I think Recovery is the example of a "perfect" Eminem album. You get the fun from W.T.P but the seriousness from Not Afraid and Going Through Changes.
I've watched this video so many times and I'm subbed ti this guy's for so long and i can 100% confirm that the guy on the glasses really took this personally
2Pac is way better, he has influenced more rappers than anyone in history. Without PAC, there’s no HIP HOP. But I won’t discredit Em, he’s definitely top 5, hell maybe even top 3. But he’s not the GOAT.
People just dont understand that Revival wasnt supposed to be this almighty Slim Shady rap album. He had a lot of things to get off of his chest. Revival was more of a delicate art piece than a rap album. That is why it went over everyones head. People are just too ignorant and expect hard ass Em all the time
Jake Grzanowicz ohhhhhh I just got it and I like the Revival album cause I think that means like Em is reviving Slim Shady not Eminem or Marshal Mathers
Lmao thats not what it means. The porterhouse means that if you want real meat/music go for revival but if you want junk/trap music go to mcdonalds..its so simpleeee to understand that lineeee
He definitely understands these simple bars, they broken down Daylyt and King Los freestyles that have a lot more complexity to them. That's not taking anything away from Em, but this isn't one of his outer space tracks.
this the one part of the reaction that stood out the most to me and i was surprised they did not get it or call it ironic at that moment but maybe they did not because they did mention themselves during the social media views part
5:32 Honestly that's what I appreciate the most about Em's newest music is that he's still throwing in his extremely graphic "immature" verses. Little bumps of nostalgia throughout the song and authenticity of where he came and started from to his unbelievable position in life now. Love your guy's channel, Keep up the great content 👍
5:13. This is exactly why Eminem is struggling to be the old or new Eminem as he said in an interview. If he does something new, people want the old Eminem. When he does old Eminem, people whine that a grown man can't rap like that. Make up your damn mind!
@@WestleeSapp It's pretty unaminous within the culture that Jay has aged far better than Em...bunch of out of touch pop listeners talking about Jay like he's MC Hammer foh
So it's very obvious that Eminem is not your favorite artist, especially you George. You guys say "unbiased reactions" however you have your favorite artists (ie. Logic) and when you react to their music it's so obvious you are biased to the the artist even when the song isn't that good and the content has less meaning. Even when the lyrics don't compare to a song you liked before. You say "Unbiased" yet you review MGK's "Rap Devil" before you reviewed "Not Alike" and that was the diss MGK responded to. Come on guys. I rock with the both of you however ya'll should reconsider using the phrase "Unbiased Reactions".

See this is where people just didn't understand revival..revival was em showing his 46 yr old side ..as you get older you aren't the same young wild crazy person you once were ..he even showed a sensitive side by apologizing to Kim..but now he's pissed and the wild side was brought out again!
pfunk10sp I believe revival was showing a different side but people are so used to his angry side they didn’t take well to it. He just snapped back to Slim Shady to let rip....
pfunk10sp finally someone understand . I said the same thing. Revival was for EM letting people know he see the state of the economy . Some fans will not let him grow. He made Kamaizae for fans who stuck on the old EM to let them know he hasn't lost it. Jay Z can grow but not EM? If he change they say they want the old EM. If he give the fans Old Em they say he not growing . Real fans get it
That ice pick verse is classic Em man, fans of Em appreciate that stuff man. So much of his music makes you snarl your nose from shock and sometimes disgust. But it's done so GOATly and usually humorously that it blows your mind and makes you want more. It's one of the reasons that make him who he is, so unique.
Kala was the only known surviving victim of serial killer Todd Kohlhepp Kala Brown was found with chains around her ankles and neck inside a metal storage container Nov. 3, 2016 on Kohlhepp's property in Woodruff. She had disappeared more than two months earlier from Anderson with her boyfriend, Charles David Carver, whose remains were found on the property. (of course Eminem would reference this tho 😂😂)
Joseph McBride Or, more importantly, how would they not look it up? It’s like, “welp I don’t have that information in my brain, guess we’ll never know.” Google it people! These seems like smart capable men. I’ll never get why people just say “well that’s a head scratcher” and leave it at that.
I understand if you only want to do one song and listen to the rest in your own time but if you get the chance you should react to "Fall" the song where he flames everyone. I believe on some versions the title is misplaced but the song has Bon Iver on the opening so you can't miss it. It's a crazy track and I think you'd enjoy it! But thank you for this! Love your breakdowns as always! PS: If you wanna listen to a conceptual song of the album check out "Stepping Stone"
I always love your guys takes on songs. You know what is funny though? At one point in the video you react to Em saying if you wanted a Porterhouse you should have gotten Revival. You guys state that's it's not a porter steak (which it's not lol) and it was peanuts. It's a double entendre with Mr. Porter that produced many songs on Revival. Then immediately after Em talks about people missing lines going over people's heads haha. Great video!

Zach Willow Bay lmao the Eminem fans
CEROSER word
you mean charlemagne ?
No
I realize this is only a reaction video, but for I'll explain for those who don't know.
At 11:20 Charlamagne specifically criticized this bar in Eminem’s BET cypher:
"Racism’s the only thing he’s fantastic for
‘Cause that’s how he gets his fuckin’ rocks off and he’s orange
Yeah, sick tan"
Here, Em is making a play on words comparing Donald Trump to the “Thing” from the Fantastic Four comics and related media.

“The Marshall Mathers LP is a Porterhouse”
But you hate when Eminem sounds Juvenile......
Confused at your logic here...
Eminem does not sound juvenile on MMLP.
Boi
They were also 18 years younger when MMLP came out.
@@georgekinniburgh1057 But Slim Shady isn't a grown man, Slim Shady will always be a child at heart. I love Marshall, Em, and Slim.
I think they meant now that he's in his 4os oppose to when he was young.
“I’m a grown ass man”
That just tells me you hiding something lmao 😂 dude needs to reassure himself all the time.
Kala was the only known surviving victim of serial killer Todd Kohlhepp
Kala Brown was found with chains around her ankles and neck inside a metal storage container Nov. 3, 2016 on Kohlhepp's property in Woodruff. She had disappeared more than two months earlier from Anderson with her boyfriend, Charles David Carver, whose remains were found on the property. (of course Eminem would reference this tho 😂😂)
holy shit lmao
Joseph McBride Thank u
Joseph McBride Or, more importantly, how would they not look it up? It’s like, “welp I don’t have that information in my brain, guess we’ll never know.”
Google it people! These seems like smart capable men. I’ll never get why people just say “well that’s a head scratcher” and leave it at that.
@@rubyrayne8 lol right!
Joseph McBride thanks for educating me!! (Not sarcasm) lol
Em came back with a vengeance.. Thanks for breaking it down
this whole song is directed to ppl like the guy in the glasses lol
Really hoping you guys do Not Alike feat Royce!!!
YESSSS!!!🔥🔥
We reacted to the entire album on our channel! :)
@Josh derp yes I agree
Fall is fucking 🔥🔥🔥
Facts, Fall is up there, it’s a banger
Galen Starkiller they fucked up not doing the whole album 😢
Fall it's the best one imo. The beat is sick and the hook is actually nice. It's the song I most listened to so far.
Kala Brown is a kidnap victim who was held captive on an Anderson, South Carolina rural property for 65 days.
I was looking for this comment.
+Lost In Vegas
She was kept chained up in a freezer. PUNS.
She was from Anderson, she was held captive in Woodruff South Carolina by serial killer Todd Kolhep
And she was chained inside of a connex box.
13:50 “They said I rap like a robot, call me Rap Bot, Rap Bot” lmao
I always love your guys takes on songs. You know what is funny though? At one point in the video you react to Em saying if you wanted a Porterhouse you should have gotten Revival. You guys state that's it's not a porter steak (which it's not lol) and it was peanuts. It's a double entendre with Mr. Porter that produced many songs on Revival. Then immediately after Em talks about people missing lines going over people's heads haha. Great video!
