    • @elishasopher
      @elishasopher 4 года назад +5

      I was wondering the exact same thing, it says that she rose however and last I checked when you fly out a window there is only one direction you go. Finally, I have come to the conclusion this was in her head she fell asleep when she flew out the window so she would wake up later in bed, not dead.

      nonono she was imagining it, basically it was a chess game with her mother this time and the whole thing was a metaphor from an actual chess game. She was recalling the "moves" her mother made and thinking about what she would do next.

    who is the protagonist and antagonist? help a sistah out

    • @revavi
      @revavi 3 года назад +1

      Hi Sophia. I cannot give you this answer straight out because you are probably in class right now. But, remember that the protagonist is usually the main character in the story. The antagonist is usually the person who is doing something against the main character. In this story, who is the main character? Once you know who she is, you know the answer to the other one. lol

    • @sophur9133
      @sophur9133 3 года назад

      @@revavi i know the main character i’m just not sure if the antagonist is just the mother or maybe something deeper? i’m in honors english and this is driving me crazy

    • @revavi
      @revavi 3 года назад +4

      @@sophur9133 Ah! In that case, I can understand why. On that level, I think you can argue that her mother is the antagonist. However, this is also about both internal and cultural conflict. These things are certainly what the protagonist is struggling against, but this is also true for her mother. In a sense, they are both struggling against the same forces. Still, on a basic level I think that the mother is the antagonist. Think about other stories and how some "villains" have a backstory that shows why they act the way they do. They are still the antagonist, even though we understand where they might be coming from. Hope this helps.
