Just started (about 12 hours ago) watching this set of videos revealing your 40 favourite albums. My own choices coincide quite a bit with yours (I'd imagine we are of a similar age - I'm 66). Great pace, information and selection. I actually watched your 10-1 video first, and was delighted with your top selection (hope to encounter a few more from the same artist elsewhere, but if not okay). Very interesting stuff. Well done for doing this.
Damien rices O is easily one of my favourite albums. I used to listen to it on release when driving to see my girlfriend. Now my wife and 20 years later I still love it and it takes me back to that excited/nervous feeling of seeing her for the first few times. Just recently discovered your channel mate. Love your laid back, friendly approach to your videos and you have a great knowledge. Cheers Mark
Hi just discovered your channel and subbed up. I have all of those albums except the Queen (for some reason beyond me I have no Queen records. Too cool for school maybe 😂) so I can fully understand how these all made your favourite 40. Your comment about Regatta De Blanc soundtracking lots of people’s teenage years made me smile, it definitely did mine. It was a Christmas present when I was about 13 and was one of the first records in my collection. Of course I still have and it still gets played. Andy
I am 69 but only discovered REVOLVER, ASTRAL WEEKS, DYLAN, JONI, NICK DRAKE in the late nineties. And my current favourite group is SHACK or any band with MICHAEL HEAD (genius even admired by GALLAGHER who released the last SHACK album on his own label). If you're a true music lover then you will also want to find out about BUDDY HOLLY and even SINATRA (model singer to JIM MORRISON..His IN THE WEE SMALL HOURS, SINGS FOR ONLY THE LONELY are classics..))
@@Teen_Spirit_91 Ha! My first videos were wrong way around- but ever since are the right way around- but in a new one I’m wearing a Radiohead T-shirt which has a reverse logo, so go figure😀
I have always thought that cultured, experimental and rarely chart-oriented music was born in Germany, from Bach to Stockhausen, from Kraftwerk and Neu to Klaus Nomi. For me, English and American music, with the exception of some prog rock or jazz rock bands, means above all pop or the incarnation of more or less fleeting social trends like punk, which has survived in its thousand incarnations. The first albums you showed fully confirm my thoughts and I am curious to continue discovering your chart.
@@eymerichinquisitore9022 Give me Can and Neu certainly, & even part of the Berlin trilogy.I really appreciate your comments ‘& hope you enjoy the rest of the countdown.
I started with the top 10 so I did not notice you entering the great SOLID AIR by J Martyn. The global critisism holds, however, you sticking far too much to records you discoverded when you were a toddler....(no offense meant..)

Very kind of you to say so (I’m 63). Doing Top 100 Songs GOAT which is a nightmare to compile🙈
@@ClassicVinylTop10s-yj5mt Yes, that's a big challenge. I look forward to seeing that video. Keep up the good work.
