271: Haolonggood (好龙谷) Dilophosaurus (2023) Review

- Haolonggood just keeps on hitting it right out the ballpark. It’s given us very welcome animals long neglected by other companies, such as the Ouranosaurus, Edmontonia, and even a 1:35 Apatosaurus.
Now, they come back with Dilophosaurus, a Jurassic theropod we don’t see too much of. Not just that, but this theropod is much improved from its initial Allosaurus this year. You will see a pleasing blend of anatomical conformity and aesthetic rendition, with some of the most important anatomical features captured.
With a model this good, I can only salivate over what other juicy offerings HLG will give us in the near future!

I always find it interesting when you say you're no theropod expert but end up teaching me so much from just figure analysis.
If only they gave it lips, it wouldve been perfect. Lets hope they rerelease them with lips, like they did with ouranosaurus
As you can probably guess from my username, Dilophosaurus is my favorite dinosaur. I've been wanting a 1/35 model of one for ages, but none have quite looked right to me, until this one. The colors and sculpt are jaw-dropping, and I love the subtle details like the individual variation in crest shapes between the male and female. The idea of the male staying and tending to the nest also reminds me of Emus, definitely my favorite extant dinosaur, so that's another big plus!
Best Dilophosaurus figures in my opinion I’m glad that there’s no feathers and no testicles on their faces like in some art depiction my only issue I have, of course is that they both have a osteoderms
Haolonggood does it again. I think we all should show our appreciation to Haolonggoods designers. Because of their creativity, we get these amazing figures. Beautiful color schemes, different poses, color variations, etc. And I wonder: Is this the best mass-produced Dilophosaurus model? I think so because the only other nice-looking figure I can think of is that Papo one. My dear sir, have you seen the color scheme for their Dilophosaurus resin version? I think that is the most eye-pleasing and beautiful version. I'm so happy to see this underrated dinosaur get its respective figure, and hopefully, I'll be able to get this someday. Excelente review de esta interesante pareja, ....es gratificante ver como Haolonggood mejora a gran velocidad , me gustan mucho ambas figuras y esta vez los ojos de estos dos modelos no se ven como cartoons (lo que sí ocurría por ejemplo en su Carnotaurus).
Una estrategia de mercado totalmente inesperada: dos figuras, dos poses diferentes, dos opciones de color y un precio muy accesible 😍He leído a algunas personas que nos les gustó que estos Dilophosaurus no tuvieras plumas o que tuvieran esas espinas sobre el cuello 🤔 pero yo pienso que el detalle de las escamas, la pintura y la atención a algunos detalles anatómicos sobre este dinosaurio, hacen de esta figura una figura realmente fantástica! 🤩
