I live in HK and I was jealous of my friends in Canada for a long time as they had affordable and large variety of petrol vehicles as the import tax for cars in HK is more than 100% and gas is US$3.40L. With the EV revolution in China, the tables have turned as my friends in Canada are now envious of my choices and prices of EVs in HK. I got the Xpeng G6 last month and couldn't be more ecstatic. The fact that I didn't have to settle for a Tesla, Korean or European EV is what made my purchase more fullfilling.
@@simplygregsterevEVs are taking over. In the first nine months of 2024, 72% of new car registrations in HK were EV. We'll hopefully catch up to Norway in a few years
Totally agree with you about the chargers here in Ottawa. It is pathetic. I'm lucky that I can charge at home, but driving a 28kwh Ioniq, real range anxiety in the winter and there are so few fast chargers here if I have to charge up during the day when I'm out and about.
The only good thing about ottawa is the airport, offently cheaper flights than Montreal, daily parking rate is 50% and they have a couple of free L2 running at 120v 16a. Flew from there 2 years ago put a note on my dash that other could unplug the car from set date/time.... and 8h after time written on paper someone took the handle :)

I know the feeling, the winter range drop is brutal, it's why I'm going for a bigger battery next time! Mini S Electric 28kwh
