Justin, what a memory you’ve stirred up in my mind. Believe this or not, my grandmother who was a fine lady of Cherokee Indian heritage. Was one who subscribed to making and routinely using homemade tinctures such as a dandelion root tincture. She was one who didn’t feel the need to go to the doctor whenever she was feeling bad, or run down to the pharmacy whenever she needed some medicine for a headache. She’d just go to her cupboard and get a jar of whatever nature had provided. She lived a good life and remained on this earth til age 93. I believe that she was very fond of a homemade dandelion root tincture. She used not only the dandelion root, but the whole plant. She used homemade corn whisky moonshine as a herbal menstruum for the tincture. In the spring and summer months when the dandelion bloomed, she would put up several jars of dandelion root tincture for use throughout the year. Great memories of a great lady. Thanks Justin for sharing some of the history of herbal tinctures.
Thanks, Justin. Thanks for this. Love this content. Currently, I'm making three herbal oils that I'm going to combine in some skin cream. The main herbs are St. John's wort, Calendula, and Comfrey. I added some plantain.
I really ❤ your videos.Theyre very informative and I learn something every time I watch you....I just happen to be making my skullcap/valerian tinctures today and I did mine with Everclear so I hope I didn't mess up anything!🤣😜I'm doing my elderberry syrup tomorrow!

I use a jumbo syringe to fill the 2oz tinture bottles and it works great. I picked a jar full of passion flowers today. Need to harvest my Sumac tomorrow.
Thanks Justin, I appreciate ya for sharing this.
Love your real life videos it’s so interesting, entertaining and educational. Thank you for sharing
Hey Justin! How's your right elbow doing? I hope that it is feeling better. Your comment about "Save everything", make me laugh... because if I had a Super Power it would be throwing stuff away about two weeks before I discover a use for what I tossed! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
@@martinmeltzer2696 Boy, can I ever relate to that!
