I have to Thank you for sharing your videos!
I lost my brother during covid and you sir reminded me of him so much!!
My brother would have turned 60 the month after he passed, he had worked hard as a truck driver for years and was ready to retire but that didn’t get to happen unfortunately.
He lived a lot like you do now. He use to tell me a lot of the things you mentioned in this video! It was so good to hear someone talking like this again!!
My brother took 5 acres of untouched land and him and his wife turned it into a beautiful homestead he built a huge barn out of the trees he cleared from the landhe did all by hand no heavy equipment used but a small tractor. It was so awesome! A year or two before he passed he really got into making tinctures and other medicines he was so into it he started calling himself Dr. Farris 😂
He was just a good ole country boy from Tennessee and I sure do miss him ALOT!!
Your videos are nice to see kinda like I’m spending time with my brother for just a moment again THANK YOU!!

Just received my Jonah knife today! Love it! Awesome knife. My son looked it over and called it a butcher knife. I said you gonna call it that when I butcher that 10 point this year with it 😂 Sported it at the local dollar general 😅 Also, cut the head off a water moccasin my dog jumped on and killed. Yeah, he got bit on the leg. I soaked a bandage with sting & venom tincture i got from homegrown herbalist. Wrapped his leg with it. I try to fix most everything I can. Just fixed my tractor pulled rotor tiller. The bearings were shot. Watched a couple videos, ordered parts, good sense of accomplishment. Had my truck 10 years, took care of it. Bought a set of tires for what a monthly payment would be on a new one. Justin you are spot on. Don’t be trying to “keep up with the Jones”. Neighbor building a house on about 20 acres, putting it right on the road. Wife said they got all that pretty land, why there? I call it “the look at me syndrome “

Some of the best advice that could have been given. My brothers and sisters couldn't get away from the old farm and homeplace fast enough. I wanted to stay. I bought 20 acres from my folks, cleared the brush with a chainsaw, and financed a 2 bedroom shell home, which I finished. As the family grew I added to it myself. When Mom passed away and Dad came to live with us, I tore off the middle part of the roof and added 2 more bedrooms and a half bath to the 3 bedroom which the house had come to be. My house was full of people and life. Now, I live in an empty barn but the memories are there and every room and board has got my stamp. From the 20 acres the acreage on the homeplace has grown to 127 and an additional acreage of 80. It all came from my mind and hands and it came honest because I'd never step on another man's head to get what I wanted. It came just the way you explained and I owe very little to the bank. But I'll have to say I have been doubly blessed.

That's some good advice . I'm the same way . 58 years old I've own one brand new vehicle in my life. I like to buy a $5000 dollar vehicle and drive it 10 yrs. A credit card is good if used correctly. When we go on vacation if we have a tire blowout I use the Credit card for the tire and pay it off when we get home. If you use it all the time it will creep up on you then the interest will eat you alive . Made that mistake when I was 20 yrs old. Took me years to pay it off. We are debt free and live that way. While fishing and watching the sun go down my wife stated quietly " I wonder what rich people are doing right now? Them knives look good. You can't buy a good knife like them at Walmart. One of your knives if taking care of will last a lifetime.
    Enjoyed your video .

Very good advice, Justin. We had my daughter's strong blender over here and a part of it got warped. I kept checking ebay until I found the part for a few dollars. I took the motor apart and cleaned it out and oiled it - gave it back to her good as new with the new part, instead of paying 100 bucks for a new blender.

Hey Justin great video. My family live a very frugal life style by today standards but we are comfortable with our finances. I’ve been made fun of and many family members and friends just can’t understand my way of life. Small home , cut fire wood for heat , raise our own food on our 70+ acre paid off farm, drive older vehicles. but when I set on the porch and look across my farm I know it’s all mine. I wish more people could enjoy not being chained to the American dream of so much debt. Many people say I wish I could be like you but I can’t live like that I say you keep paying those payments making someone else rich.

Great video Justin. I'm 62 and been disabled the last 19 years. I thank God that I've worked since before high school and paid in all the taxes and retirement i was supposed to, thank God for that because it's been paying off. I love "Livin Off The Land". I love eating all the seafood i can catch out of this Mississippi Gulf Coast, crabs 🦀 , shrimp 🍤, crawfish 🦞 , oysters and fish 🐟. I live off of the land rabbit's, squirrels, hogs, deer, turtles, turkeys, ducks, nutria, beaver 🦫, raccoons I'll eat anything that I can just to be living off of the land. All the fresh vegetables and fruits and camping like you, in a tent. Not a camper. I lived in a camper 2 years after hurricane Katrina 🌀 until we could rebuild my house. My friends and myself built my house the 1st time then hurricane Katrina 🌀 destroyed it, 28' of water came in and my slab is 14' above sea level so another 14' went over my house so we had to gut it down to the frame. I got disabled right after the hurricane 🌀 so i had to sub the work out. Some things we could do but most i had to hire people to do. Thank God i had insurance to help us out but still wasn't near enough. Keep on keeping on Justin, im sorry i got carried away on here but im in bed 22 hours a day and get lonely and I just wanted to say a few words. I really enjoy your videos, you, you sweet wife and Brodie. Awesome family, may God forever bless 🙌 🙏 you and your family always my brother. I might just take a road trip one day. I know you came down to Gulfport or Biloxi one time fishing in Kayaks I'm the same distance maybe a lil less and I'm right on the mouth of Pearl River where it dumps into the Gulf. Water is 70' to a 100' in some places. Big catfish down here plenty speckled trout and redfish and lots of flounders. Im gonna try to set up a lil trip for you and your family it won't cost yall anything but y'all's ride down here. All the meals, housing and anything yall might need I got yall covered. Talk to you later. God bless 🙌 🙏.

Good evening. I am actually watching one of your other videos at the moment but I will get to this one also. I will be coming to your area this fall to visit my son and grandchildren and stay for a few months for hunting season. I am not sure if you are interested or even aware but there is a Group in Ms called CMM and you can look into that. There is going to be a Pilgrimage festival in Carrollton on October 5th and all vendors are invited. The group I mentioned will be cooking catfish , hush puppies and fries and the last time I attended they also had slaw and sausages. I don’t know if I will have any of my knives on display this time because of a spinal surgery a couple months ago but definitely I will be there for the festival and hunting and I hope you are able to attend.

I have 7 years to retire. I’ll be retired at 57. I want to travel when I retire but not RV style. I bought a new truck to get it paid off before I retire and I plan to keep the miles low on it for now. Then I bought a use boat. I wanted to get these things and get them paid & retire debt free. I have come close to messing up though. With the grocery prices and everything else going so high….it has made that decision to have the notes for those things more difficult. The decision was with good intentions, but still rough now. It was my choice and I’ll deal with it. I Said that to say this.

I made my kids work but not to the extreme that I did. They are all grown have jobs and married. They are all self sufficient. I'm proud of them. I still live on the farm I was raised on. We only need water food, shelter and fire to survive. Everything else is irrelevant. Tuff times are coming God will provide the government will not.
