I’m seeing Cheap Trick next weekend in Biloxi. They are AMAZING live. Jamel, check out their official video for If You Want My Love so you can see what a bad ass Robin Zander (the singer) was back in 1982. That dude can sing.
You speak of the production - you hear them greet Sandy at the beginning - that is Sara Allen (Sara Smile) and she co-produced this episode. Her late sister, Janna, dated Tom. Sara and Janna co-wrote many of Hall & Oates’s biggest hits in the 80s.
I'm from Rockford, Illinois. The hometown of Cheap Trick. I have many personal and family stories about the band, but I've told so many of them over different reaction videos, I'll just tell the basics. I took guitar lessons from Gary Williams, who taught Robin. My Aunt had a bar in Beloit, WI, where they were the house band before they got famous. Years later my girlfriend's dad was Bun's (the drummer's) best friend and I met him and got to know him real well. I played my music for him several times. Some years after that I met Holland Zander, Robin's daughter, and became friends with her. Only met Robin once when I was a kid. I never met Rick or Tom. But I did frequent Rick's parents music shop in Beloit, Wi. I met his parents who were both lovely people. Oh, and Jamel, thank you for your diversity and love for your love for music!
I lived 10 minutes from Darryl's house and saw lots of shows. Before Darryl's house it was the Towne crier for 30 years started going there in my 20's I'm now 59. Tons of shows at that location.
Sorry Jamal I missed this one. My first concert was Cheap Trick. Incredible live. They were popular in Japan before America. Happy Birthday to Benjamin Orr from the Car's RIP i was reminded reading the live comment by Susan Bezio.
There are a couple of other Live From Darryl's House episodes that were awesome. He did one with Train that was his first one I believe. I renege seeing a concert with Hall and Oates and Train.... fantastic! He also did an episode with Elle King that was fantastic!
I've seen this episode before, but it's always more fun with Jamel. It was fun seeing Daryl as a fan and a performer here. Glad everything went well with Laila. Gotta love our fur babies! ✌️❤️😊🎶
You seem to enjoy something different. In the late sixties a television station in Philadelphia broadcast some shows called Hy Lit. Featuring different R&B acts, mostly local. Recently someone dug up the TV studio tapes and uploaded them. This one featured a group called the Epsilons. The lead singer and the backup singer doing the spins and dips were McFadden and Whitehead. Another member was Lloyd Parks. ruclips.net/video/5BHaGy2h39A/видео.html

these cats should take this act out on the road ! I would absolutely dig seeing that show live
"I want you to want me' my fav Cheap Trick song
the one with the checkered guitar used to do this kind of dance across the stages when in concert, you'd love watching it.
Jamal, Rick Nelson's guitars are legend, but don't discount Tom Peterson's 12 string freaking bass....the heart of Cheap Tricks music!
So good, I was lucky to see them at the Taste of Chicago... Pink opened. Saw CT at a small local Schaumburg Fest too.
Live From Daryl's House: I Can't Go For That with Cee Lo Green is awesome. It's a must watch
Glad you discovered Daryl House. He has so many great guests over to jam!
great chemistry and super sound in the studio!Robins voice is as good as ever!
