  • I learned a Suffocation song from Human Waste.
    #suffocation #airiseffects #deathmetal #guitarcover #guitarplaythrough #metal #tablature #tutorial
    I used four pedals:
    Bonsai - TS9 as a Boost ‪@jhspedals‬
Effigy of the distortion by Airis Effects for main tone ‪@AirisEffects‬
Haunting Mids by JHS to boost the mids in the effects loop
DM-2W by Boss for a little compression also in effects loop
    Plugged into my:
Laney Pro Tube AOR 30 Watt Combo ‪@LaneyAmplification‬
    Shure 57 ‪@shure‬
Guitar is a Edwards Viper by ESP ‪@espguitarsusa‬
Pickups are Bare Knuckle Hsp Pig90 WarPig p-90
    ‪@BKPickups‬

Holy shit, there's an Effigy of the Forgotten pedal?!

Yep, there sure is. The pedal is designed to sound like that old Ampeg VH-140C amplifier they used in the old days. However, it is worth mentioning that these days they primarily use Peavy amplifiers, maxon tube screamers, and DiMarzio super distortion pickups. As for the pedal, it’s not bad. I was using it on the clean channel of my Laney AOR. It also blends well with my tube screamer and my haunting mids. In fact, I really enjoy hitting the front end of it with my tube screamer and using my haunting mids to boost the Mids in the effects loop. The pedal on its own is cool, it has a boxy sound to it. 🤘🤘🤘

Thanks man. Yeah, it took me about 4 weeks to get it down. It has a few tricky parts. The last song I learned that required such time was Obliveon.

Thank you for the comment. It’s an old Japanese market ESP Edwards Viper 85. The color looks even better in person. They are not very common. I put a pair of Bareknuckle humbucker sized WarPig P-90’s in it. They are super hot. Thank you for your comment.

Yeah there is one part that is certainly a bit fucky. I can play it better in the songster tab. There is a slower version of this song that they released a few years later.

Killer playing and awesome Suffo legacy. Cerrito and Hobbs smashed it! Catatonia is beyond heavy

I love Suffucation so much. Nice video, great job. These good-old riffs are a perfect start for any Brutal/Tech Death beginner.
