DaleyTactics has a Giant Tripod fight against 1000 Soldiers of the German Army! Can 1000 German Soldiers defeat a Giant Tripod? This was made using the Men of War Assault Squad 2 spinoff Call to Arms War of the Worlds Battle Simulator.

In the 2005 film, the tripods were underground when the aliens invaded, but they did not originate from Earth. They had been brought there long ago.
Really? I mean I can see where that might be cool too but they should have named it differently if they aren't going to follow the original story though
Yeah, they burried the Tripods underground for thousands, if not millions of years after seeding Earth with life, observing the activities of mankind, waiting for a critical bio mass to harvest, as food, fuel and terraforming agent, turning their bodies into red weed to make the planet more suitable for martian life.
Their primary role was to eliminate all resistance to make way for the smaller handling machines harvest the bio mass of sentient life, particularly humans for their blood, also as fertiliser and as a planetary terraforming agent, since their worlds resources are depleted and their race is dying out due to an energy/food crisis, in a desperate attempt, with their technology they seek, search and seed a suitable planet with life forms and organisms, in the hope to acquire enough material and resouces to rebuild their crumbling empire.
@@Kolonol1 Ever heard of this word called ADAPTATION, that's what the 2005 film is, nothing more, nothing less, it's just an adaptation of the novel with Spielberg's own flair to it. They even said so themselves that they didn't want to completely do what everyone else has done (aka literally every single War of the Worlds adaptation of the novel prior) and what they did worked, plus I'm not a huge fan of stories going "oh London is the heart of Earth" as if only ONE COUNTRY makes up a whole fucking planet, 2005's adaptation extends that the invasion would be happening EVERYWHERE, not just one single fucking location.
Also the aliens that operate them came down from space and came down in the lightning during thunder storm

It would be cool to see a tripod fight against WW2 Germans . Old against advanced tech would be interesting... Also , the tripods were underground , the aliens controlling them came from space and transferred in tripods during a sort of lightning storm as they had kept an eye of Earth for a long time.

I think it's mainly them responding to where damage is coming from, because you literally see them look right at him the second, he starts firing.

In the book, the Martians and disassembled fighting machines were fired to Earth with a Verne Gun. Once they landed, they were assembled.
Please make this a series after you learn more about the mod and how it works. A timed mission of hold them off while civilians evacuate would be awesome
The 2005 film depicts the tripod machines were buried long before the events of the film and the aliens that pilot the machines use lightning strikes to get life pods down to the machines as well as using the same lightning to power it.

Didn't they come from Mars in the book? Also the most deadly weapon the Martians had wasn't the tripods it was the red moss, which back in the day was what people thought made Mars red.
Yes. The plot twist that they were buried underground is only in the Tom Cruise adaptation.
In the Book the deadliest weapon the Martians had was the Black smoke ( Chemical Warfare) fired from "rockets" which they started using to destroy the artillery from range so they would not lose anymore tripods. They also used it to clear large areas of life.
Yep, read the book. I read it when I was in middle school and loved it. It was, in a way, a satiry of imperialism because HG wells Hated it!!!!!!! even commdemed it! He wrote in a way of how he expressed his negtavie views on imperialism that wouldn't get him in trouble with the brititsh goverment.
How about one Tripod vs 3,000 Tommies armed with pre-WW1 (Martini-Henry or Lee-Metford) or WW1 (Lee-Enfield) vintage weapons. That would make it more realistic to the original novel and the result would be 3,000 poor, poor British souls as stone cold dead as the Germans in the simulation above, [laughing].

Daley, just so you know that adding more tripods makes it harder to kill them because the soldiers have to split up and fire on different targets. If there going to stand a chance they need some sort of powerful weapon if they want to kill them all. And no I’m not saying take a nuke to them.

No... in the original HG Wells novel the aliens are Martians, it was the God awful movie that changed that.

The tripods were buried under the Earth for centuries, the aliens used a lightning storm to ride the lightning (little Metallica reference there) into the tripods and surfaced. The aliens are not from Earth and in the 2005 film were theorized as from Mars, but no one really knows for sure where they came from.
Idk the book says different....I think the 2005 movie could have been named differently and been ok because while the plot is the same the entire story was different it seems..

yes, im the devloper of the mod and in the file the sheild streath is around 45,000 sheild health and 8,000 ish for the regular health. but only take damage from rockets

In the original story written in 1897 by H. G. Wells, then in the radio play just before WWII, and then again in the early 1950's film, and even in the musical album of the late 1970's. All of which stuck to the original story that the tripods came from Mars, falling from the sky like meteors. Anything else other than that is an adaptation of the original story. The 2005 film is NOT cannon, and if you take into account what film makers had to work with in the 50's, and ignore the dated special effects, the first 50's film was far superior to the bad scripted, directed and acted dross of 2005.

Spoken like a true American! It is actually a novel by H.G. Wells first published (in parts) in 1897 by Pearson's Magazine and as a BOOK in 1898.
