You just know when Conrad says something emotional/poignant it’s time to get that fast forward finger ready because he’s 100% about to jump into that Magic Spoon ad.
The one misconception fans always put out there is that Bischoff and Hogan bankrupted TNA, which is totally not true. TNA didn’t pay them Spike TV paid for their contracts. There were some moments that weren’t good, but I remember a lot of great wrestling and moments that happened during that era.
Conrad saying that wrestling would not be where it is today without Dixie Carter is crazy. Tell that to anyone at the WWE Corporate Office that has been there the last 15-20 years and they will laugh you out of the building.
@@Carvercity96 Conrad has such lust for Dixie, it's sickening! By the way, I like Conrad. He's a bid deal in podcasts for a reason. But enough with the revisionist history!
Loved this episode on Dixie from Eric's perspective (heard Double J's take before).. got me thinking though, are we going to get a Jason Hervey 83 Weeks episode?? I dug his acting, and his interest in wrestling was super cool to me, so I'd love to hear more about him on the opposite side of the camera! Big C, make it happen! 😎
As far as Hogan having creative control over his character in TNA, I don’t see that as a problem as much as it was in WCW. It’s not like Hogan was going to TNA so he could be competing for their world title on six PPV‘s or anything like that. I know he did wrestle some, but it was very limited and it was more of him being used as an attraction then then sitting around the table saying “well we gotta get Hulk over, so people will buy him as a top guy for the next PPV” In TNA Hogan was really used more as a billboard for TNA. Then he was a wrestler at that point. Even when he was with WWE before he came to Tn, it’s not like he was working a full road schedule. By the time he got to TNA he was too old to be wrestling every week anymore anyway.
If you havent, go and watch Hogan's PBD podcast interview from a few days ago. He is all over the place with dates and facts, still needs a podcast though.
With hindsight being 20/20--obviously bringing in Hulk & Bischoff was a massive financial and creative misstep. What, if anything, could TNA have done in 2010 to get on the right track? Remember: they were off Spike and Dixie had to sell the business within 5-6 years of Hulk debuting when they went against Raw.
Loved tna during the hulk immortal days. Thats when i got into it. And it was because of abyss. I know people hate on tna at that time but i needed it man. Wwe sucked from 2010-2014 really bad and tna was a great alternative.
@marcusgirling ya they drew well on TV back then but they couldn't draw a crowd or draw ppv buys. Go look up what they did if you want a laugh. A bad aew ppv buyrate is better then tnas best of all time. They never once drew 100k ppv buys and never once drew 10k fans to any event. They just had solid tv ratings but couldn't make money

@OneUltimateWarrior yep and they lost money 3 of those years lol. 2008 to 2010 were the best years profit wise for tna according to JJ. Can't make money when you can't sell ppvs or have a good tv deal and are stuck in a sound stage.
Conrad started this episode off stating point blank "I'm going to rewrite history and make Dixie be this sympathetic person despite having absolutely no business near TNA and it's bankrupt talent due to her (and other's) incompetence."
@@handsomelee9568 But you have no logic in this case. It is not my opinion that things happened. They did happened. It is a matter of fact that what I stated happened in real life. My opinion is that Dixie is a moron. It is a matter of *fact* that she made awful decisions and avoided paying talent.
