I can't remember where I saw it, but an easy way to tune a half step down is put a capo on first fret and then tune it normally. Then pull off the capo and your a half step down :)

I just wanted to say that even though I've been playing for years ( even professionally for 5yrs) and can read and follow tablature. Sometimes I just need a general idea of what's going on with a particular song and although your lessons are anything but general(I hope you understand I mean no disrespect) they help me to take off from there. And,your charm,wit,and sense of humor make it even more enjoyable and i imagine it helps to relax the newbies because we know stress doesn't . So,Thanks man. Obviously alot of folks appreciate what you do....and I am but one of them. Take care.

I really appreciate the response,Matt. I'm sure you get alot of comments and for you to acknowledge mine so quickly and kindly says even more about your character. I'm not one to even make comments usually but i just felt the need to. Most people that don't play an instrument wouldn't know the ability it has to help soothe your soul in times of need. I lost lost my best friend and the most important woman in the world to me,my Mother this past March. It's been very difficult trying to come to terms with it and though I mostly played heavy stuff my roots are most definitely Country. And so i keep coming across meaningful songs to find some solace and i'll think to myself " I wonder if that ol' Matt fella has done that song?"......and sure enough.Well,I Thank you kindly,again. Keep up the great work because hopefully you know it's so much more then just a lesson. Take care.

Bro been watching your videos for a while. And I honestly love you bro. You’ve probably taught me entirely how to play in standard. In the past few years. I just turned 21. The other day and me being able to play guitar. is the greatest step into my dream. God gifted me with a five octave vocal range. With that and the guitar skills you taught me. I’m going to change the world, one song at a time. all I have to do is figure how to get out in the world. sounds good ..the Em is played with the bottom strings open tho it gives it more depth but still sounds good C in chorus is hit reg then with open 4th string then hammers back into reg C if u dont know but would still sound good at a bonfire

Y do your ring and pinky stay on the bottom two strings no matter what? Do u just lift them to where i cant see or can they just stay there 🤔 it seems everyone has a different way of doing a chord which os very confusing for me

each fret you put the capo on makes it a half of step up.
