      Thanks and yeah it's how I do them they last well and are a great back up for when I can't get fresh worm tight lines 🎣🎣

    what can i use to store lug worm without having newspaper?

      Newspaper is good tried and tested, but kitchen roll cold work might dry them out to much tho or cling film but they might go to wet and turn to mush

    hi gaz brilliant video mate, im new to pumping worm and sruggling a bit, were do you go to pump your worm and how far do you wlak out cheers mark

      Hia mark go on tides that are over 8m as smaller tides won't on over the beds that much, you should see cast all the way along the front mainly in patches tho, I find they pump better as the tide turns just don't get cut off, if you need anymore advice give me a shout

      @@MarkPerry-fk1ot iv not had any time to fish in ages life just got to busy unfortunately, new pumps are hard to start with after a bit of use they go really nice and easy just need to ware the washers in a bit first

      Yeah there are a group of us that do it and they do work also I use a Shakespeare Long slim pump

      its all about the same on that bit of beech go on a tide that smaller than 2m low and youll find them in a short walk along the tide line

      @@lifeofgazfishing1873 I'll be up and down from the gynn to Fleetwood. Saw a nice coley come out just under rosalls crooked watch tower the other day, only couple of lb but lovely colouring. Is it OK for the pump or do you need a fork? 😭 Lol

      @@Lee5715 some bits get a bit stony but I only use a pump and a coley IV never seen one from Blackpool you here about the odd one but that's it

      Hia man I squeeze them from the tail end to the head tha the guts pop out the head end or I hit the against the side of the pump and that dose it as well when you do it you will the the insides come out yellow and orange stuff

      @@lifeofgazfishing1873 Thanks for that Gaz. I went this evening to dig. After an hour I got two 3" lugs, & 3 rags all about 2mm in diameter. There were casts everywhere. I then thought to myself fuck this for a game of soldiers, I'll buy them from the bait shop from now on lol. I whacked a lug against the fork shaft & it snapped in half :-/ I'll get a pump & give it another go soon, but digging isn't for me ;-)

      @@FowkesSteve yeah you can't hit them to hard and yeah there not easy untill you get good at it but try going out to low tide and on bigger tides cus more of the bed will uncover and give you a better chance

      Depends were you are people say the Fleetwood end you can get them on small tides but bispham to Blackpool 1.8 is the smallest

    Never heard of this before mate why do you boil em? Surely they lose scent this way?

      I was sceptical about this as well but I tried it about 3 years a go and they held up better than any other frozen IV tried and I had more fish on them so I now only use these if I can't get fresh

      Sorry I can't today there I'm working but the tides are going small untill Friday it's better going then as there will be more of the bed exposed

      I go about 2 to 6 inches and get them tails first but some people go deeper and get them head first but there depth changes some times

      This time of year there all over as long as you go on a low tide below 2m I find them everywhere depends were is close to you

      Yeah same I never put them in my pocket 😂 I do them this way because they hold up as a better bait for longer and still catch better than any other frozen lug for me

      gutting is what im doing when I pop the worm to take out the insides for worms that im going to keep in papers this will make the worm last longer up to a week sometimes in the fridge and worm were the guts are left in are called swimmers round here and are great bait but don't last as long so I use them the day there dug if I can

      Sorry to be a nuisance Gaz,
      Could I just dig my blow lug( swimmer) and then blanche,wrap and freeze them like you do
      Or do they have to be gutted?

      that's not a problem happy to help, iv tried to blanch them without gutting first but they didn't work as well but black, yellow tails, and blow lug all blanch well if gutted first

    You can put anything in a freezer but don't mean it's usefull when it comes out ,why you think bait shops don't sell blow lug frozen

      @@lifeofgazfishing1873 I found they just turn to mush , I tried every method and then some but best fresh is best , just clean them and nice bit of clean sand they last a day or 2 , straight on the bait needle and on the hook and they fat and juicy .as say anything can be frozen but they just fall apart ,they nothing like blacks

      iv found the same until I did it this way but when I do it I blanch and freeze with in an hour or two of being collected I do prefer fresh but there are time when I cant get out to get them so these are by back up having said that im doing a fresh vs frozen fish offs here is the firs one

      Lol my wife is always out if I'm doing it and I keep all the doors and windows open, as for blanching them they make for a much better bait and last a lot longer on the hook for me anyway
