About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

Got a beer, started with Smiths, went on to James, Verve, Pulp and I got here. Thank you British music for the soundtrack of my life.
Awesome!!

Damon's voice is sublime in this song. One of their best.
Laetia Saedier from Stereolab is the girl's voice.
Very gd voice . I just posted that I have a 94 park life cd signed by all 4 members on a promo cd . Looking got it to go to a gd home at the right price auction house value it at £200/400!that’s prop house London . With them getting bk now next year sky’s the limit

I love the instrument choice that they used in this song. Compared to their popular songs from that time period, you wouldn't even know this is Blur.
This entire album is a masterpiece.
The entire band carrier
all blur albums are better than the last album, currently the best album is the ballad of darren
@PATONANINHA I agree with you, I think Blur are only getting better and better with each album. I didn't like the Ballad of Darren at first, but I was very wrong. It's a great album.
One of Blur's finest moments.
Funny how a song can take you to a place you've never been to and make you feel at home..
You put this in to words perfectly
This is exactly what I feel listening to Blur
The sujet is taken from the movie "L’année dernière à Marienbad"
!
How can this song be so perfect? It's just magic... it takes you to another era... Blur...Damon's voice...wow.. no words could apply for this perfection
The song was recorded later with Françoise Hardy who passed away two days ago. Her beautiful voice adds even more magic

Why so perfect? IT reminds US about our youth that IS gone now.
And IT IS so hard. So hard. Hearing this Blabla Songs in 2024. And WE know what good music was Like , Songs when you hear Songs you can fly🎉🎉🎉 I know what you feel. Best wishes from Germany ❤
I love this song because, having heard it first whilst watching the video, this is obviously a homage to ''Last Year at Marienbad'' which, once viewed is never forgotten. Just perfect.
Thank you for informing me I was gonna deep dive on finding the meaning behind this vid!!
Blur are so cool...on this album they straight up jump from this type of 60's french pop style of music to punk rock...then techno...it's insane.
That’s what makes them so great; how versatile they were. I prefer them over other britpop bands from the time, simply because they have more to offer. More styles, genres and sounds. It’s something very important in artists to me, that they don’t just do the same thing over and over.
!
@@caranook100%. Definitely makes them stand out and allows us to hear the massive variety of musical influences the members have. Blur have always felt like a BAND to me (unlike oasis) and each of the members have distinct sounds input into projects. Also it’s really cool how Damon was able to carry over this sonic versatility into Gorillaz for the next generations and found further success.
‘One Day’ the series brought me here. Great sound track will be listening to tbe soundtrack often.
This is a great track must start to listen to Blur more. Other great British bands on the soundtrack. There are some absolute gems!
Damon makes me sing along with him with such emotion - and i can't sing for shit. He does that to me everytime

Haha! I've got *the* worst singing voice ever. But I can't help when I'm rolling down the highway and this comes on, belting along with it at the top of my lungs. *With* the windows up, so I can spare the humanity around me. This song just does that to you, innit.
WELL YOU AND AAAAAAAAIIIIIII

Is that Graham at 02:24? Wow....I'm collapse in love
Megaratna Maimunah he kind of looks like a very young Colin Firth from the side. Like Colin in picture 13 of 22 on IMDb for his first movie Another Country:)
This was one of our 3 wedding songs when we got married on the beach in Vietnam. Dark but beautiful.
And all these years later we’re still making it to the end.
Aw🥺
Congrats btw!!! This is one of their best songs!
that's so sweet omg
Damon is beyond handsome in this one. In all of them actually but especially here.
Marina Panteli
2:06 always made me weak on the knees even since I was 13-14 year old in 1994! I kept waiting for this music video to appear on MTV just to see him on 2:06.
u got good taste
Damon is always hot
fr
it's the suit
I love the aesthetic of this music video. From Damon’s look to the James Bond energy.
it's from the film LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD from genius director Alain Resnais.
This sounds like a James Bond song

I just love how he sings "gone foreva"...
Ugh Damon is perfect
Beyond perfect.
agreed
+TheHilikus89 agree
true
TheHilikus89 you know
This is one of my favourite Blur songs and funny I discover the video years later. My heart melts when Damon sings “what happened to us, soon it will be gone forever”. Definitely underrated like Clover over Dover.
The way she runs at 3:10 always gets me haha
+Undead Jared SAME! Lmao!!!
Wheeeeeee!
A very damsel in distress run
Ughhh I love how Graham looks here
I love him. He is the best.
sameee
"You look towards me"
*Damon awkwardly staring*
Hahaha this never gets old
graham looks insanely hot in this one
haime corey As an unapologetic Alex girl, I would have to agree!
haime corey ur male??🤔
Amelia Espindola and you're an idiot
Why? Because she stated a fact? The knee-jerk defensiveness of some people is tiring.
The Fakey Cake Maker because she said it in a judgemental way. How dare a male find another male attractive 🙄
Another gem from the grand 90s.
Ah this brings me back to being 15 again. I remember there was a cafe in my town that we used to hang out as kids which had a jukebox, I'd always put this song on. What I wouldn't give to be back there at that time. Good times.
Songwriting at its best
Music at its best
Singer at his best
What more can I say ❤
Graham is a hot guy with killer good looks. Literally.
Graham aged like a fine wine.
@@SolchysWell he certainly aged better than the rest of his fellow band mates
One of those songs that make you say - "They don't do songs like this anymore"... and most of them don't, actually... What a moment of perfection.
this has been my favorite song for 10 years and i still cry every time i hear it
I know, it's emotional.
How could this not have made no.1 in the charts?
I just saw Last Year At Marienbad yesterday. This was a really nice try to get that atmosphere in video, shot by shot. Another triumph in Blur's history.
Last year in Marienbad film in which this video is based is a masterpiece of French New Wave cinema. What is the movie about? No idea. Everyone has their own interpretation. Love this video and great song. Blur are a fantastic band.
this song is what i imagine falling in love at first sight feels like
Damon wtf.. I refuse to believe that you were and still are this precious
this will absolutely always and forever be my favourite song- especially the french version
This song is everything to me. I listened to it for the first time because of anglo-french obsession. Then I saw Misfits and got excited because "I know this song!". And finally, one day, I discovered blur. And I fell in love.
''Blur, To the End. Featuring Francoise Hardy'' What can be more awesome than that?
This song is *chef's kiss.* If you love this song as much as we do, there's a good chance we should be friends.
The Last Year at Marienbad is the most beautiful film I have yet to fully comprehend.
this is probably one of the most beautiful and poetic things I have seen in my entire life
When Corona Virus is Over, this is the perfect song/anthem to celebrate with

this song gives the universal vibes and i love it
One of the greatest songs of all time.
For me yes, is one of the best
Does everyone here like every member of Blur? I mean obviously Damon is the best but Alex, Graham, and Dave don't get enough love.
Graham gets a lot. Alex gets a bit, Dave is just.....The Poor Drummer.
Poor drummers.
Alex gets love too
I love graham and Dave both
graham is awesome alex is very handsome and i love dave
One of the best songs of the 90s

R.I.P Francoise Madeleine Hardy
La comedie
Dave is hot. No one was mentioning him so felt bad. Here you go Dave!
Jonathan Swain
he is the most classic gentleman
He's a Lil Cutesie.
One of the loveliest and most stirring songs ever made. A timeless gem highlighting the band's songwriting mastery.
All those dirty words
(Jusqu'à la fin)
They make us look so dumb
(En plein soleil)
Been drinking far too much
(Jusqu'à la fin)
And neither of us mean what we say (en plein amour)
Well, you and I
Collapsed in love
And it looks like we might have made it
Yes, it
Looks like we've made it to the end
What happened to us?
(Jusqu'à la fin)
Soon it will be gone forever
(En plein soleil)
Infatuated only with ourselves (jusqu'à la fin)
And neither of us can think straight anymore (en plein amour)
Well, you and I
Collapsed in love
And it looks like we might have made it
Yes, it
Looks like we've made it to the end
When you and I
Collapsed in love
Well, it looks like we might have made it
Yes, it
Looks like we've made it to the end
you and I, we just
Collapsed in love
And it looks like we might have made it
Yes, it
Looks like we've made it to the end

This track is just insanely beautiful, and the video is such an eloquent expression of that beauty!
My fave Blur video. Love that woman. Shame this is only 480p with borders. No better than when I taped it onto VHS back in the day.
This is one of those songs that makes you sad that the 90s is a distant memory!!
You know, no other rubbish from the era of 1990s Britpop can ever compare with this. *It's Art*
Idk the universal also by blur is amazing
Daemon's voice in this song sounds awesome, gives you shivers

love this song so much. I love life now, but it really does take me back to being 14 listening to blur with my mates ... when only listening to songs on the radio, then saving up and paying for an album, reading the cover book meant a lot more than just finding it on youtube or instantly downloading it .... great great album. Reminds me of summer '95
I love that song....it always makes me smile!!!reminds me of another decade!!
Glad to be here. Glad to be a human. Glad to be 21 century's man.
Damon Albarn
Hes not. Not on the inside at least..
why
He did a lot of Heroin.
What did he do?
monke / you can't say he's a bad person just coz took heroin, unless you know him and you know something about him that we don't, shouldn't tar people with the same brush I know by past experience that not all addict's Lie,Cheat and steal, granted they are few and far between and unless you've used or it's affected your personal life in some way you shouldn't make assumptions, she only wanted people to know she likes him and you went straight in trying to put her on a downer SHAME, SHAME!!!
Could watch and listen to this for ever........
I found this really funny : D I like it how all the band members would look right at home in a French new wave film. Especially Graham.
Wish i could go back. Perfection
