U.S. Sen. @joshhawleymo’s re-election bid may be the most expensive and nationally watched Missouri contest of the fall.
But the Democratic primary to take on the GOP senator has been a relatively quiet affair compared to other Aug. 6 contests. After @wesleybell4mo bowed out of the race and instead ran for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, @lucaskuncemo and @karla.may.004 are the two main contenders in the contest to take on Hawley.
Kunce has a massive fundraising advantage over May, who represents a state Senate district that includes St. Louis and St. Louis County. But the two-term lawmaker is banking on defying expectations once again, as was the case when she won other contested elections throughout her political career.
