When I got my placard in the mail, included in the envelope was a registration card, just like you would get for a vehicle, but this one was for the handicap placard. Carry it in my wallet, along with my vehicle registrations.

I had a accident in 92. My right arm severely mangled. I parked in a handicapped area. A lady said that was wrong. I showed her my arm she apologized. People were different then. I showed her the placard.

Handicap spaces do NOT have to be close to a facility. They can be in the far corner. They are designed to be larger to allow people who use appliances to have room to utilize them. Most spaces are closed to the facility by the generosity of the facility.
Back in the day. 80s. My aunt lost her left leg. But still could drive. Or i would drive her around. Doctors groceries etc. Never once had somebody ask if disabled. WTF Is wrong with people today.

I am a driver for a friend who does have a disability and we use her placard when she remembers to bring it with her - we try to find a handicapped spot or at least one where she doesn’t have to walk very far! If someone saw me get out of the driver’s seat I could understand the confusion, but my very good friend is handicapped so we are allowed to use these spots!

Legally, she is not required to tell anyone what her disability is. Her doctor filled out the paperwork, and that's all that's necessary.
