I'm really enjoying your vlogmas videos! It works well for me with you having several days in one! It's so nice to see someone in my demographic, as it were. An empty nester working a day job, dealing with home things, and making time for knitting in there!
We love 🍋 Lemon everything ! I bet it smells so refreshing in your kitchen right now . Thanks for the recipe ❤😋🎶☮️ Love Actually is one of my favorite movies too !! 🍿
A productive day in the kitchen. I’m a crocheter too and working on my first granny square blanket! It’s sewing in the ends that gets me - the act of, and the waste 🤷♀️. But it is satisfying to see it grow, sooooo much quicker than knitting though knitting gives me joy too. Anything to keep the hands busy. PS: after 9 rounds I’m learning I can cut the yarn shorter for waving in, so less waste 🤩
You had me at croissant, Nancy! We used to love it at my grandparents house (in No. Minne-snowta) when she would have us bring in the laundry from the line in winter she forgot to bring in: my grandpa's frozen jeans would stand up on their own. Thanks for the curd recipe, my family will love it (especially my Englishman aka cookie monster).
Haha!!! I only put out sheets in the winter because they stand a hope of drying. But I have had them come in a little crispy, but they smell soooooo good! Hope you love the curd 🍋
Nancy you could easily transition to food blogs, but dont. I cant imagine you having time for everything and knitting is more important! God bless you!
Mmmmm…lemon curd 🤤 love love love lemon! And shortbread too?!? Just kill me dead why don’t ya! lol poor granny suffered a lost increase early on maybe lol gimpy square! Love these little day in the life snippets! Happy happy, merry merry!
Another fun episode!! I realize I have a cousin who lives in Dieppe, which I believe is very close to you, although I have never been there. I too am having a lazy knit day today after a very busy weekend--luxurious! I LOVE the movie "Love Actually"! We recently watched it.
I love bedding dried outside but not possible in winter. I laminate the recipe pages that I use all the time Yummy biscuits and stir fry Thank you for sharing ❤
I can usually find a day during the week that I can hang the sheets and they dry. I don't bother hanging anything else out because they won't dry in the winter. Great idea on the recipe cards❣️❣️
thank you for sharing your lemon curd recipe…. I love that it uses whole eggs and not just egg yolks (especially with the insane price of eggs these days)! Have you considered rubbing your lemon zest into your sugar before adding it to the eggs? It tends to accentuate the lemon flavour. Also, for another unrequested tip - you can freeze whole lemons beautifully.
You were busy in the kitchen, the lemon curd looks lovely and your dinner looks yummy. Intrigued as to why your square was wonky because it looked ok to me.
Hi Nancy! I made lemon curd last week also. I didn’t know we could cook it in the microwave so I cook it on the stove and stir often for about 15 minutes. I may try it your way next time. I love mixing it with yogurt, bananas and nuts. I’m enjoying your vlogmas.
I wasn't expecting to see you so soon 😊 Have you ever frozen the lemon curd or is it best to use fresh? You froze it within the cookies, but freezing it by itself? Have a great day, Nancy ❤ - Diane from Manitoba
I wasn't expecting to be here again so soon, but it was a good length and thought why not!! I haven't frozen it because it normally gets gobbled up really quickly 🤓 I don't see why it couldn't be 🤔
Yay 🥳 Glad you loved it. Sorry I forgot to show the shortbread recipe card. It actually isn't my favourite recipe...I couldn't find the magazine clipping with my favourite. Here's the link for the shortbread that I normally make chatelaine.com/recipe/desserts/christmas-cookies-classic-shortbread-cookies-recipe/

Thanks for the tips Carolyn 😀 I've never rubbed the zest in the sugar!!! Brilliant 👏 🍋

What were you cooking your croissants in?
We did them in our air fryer🤓
Is your crochet blanket fingering?
I'm using fingering held double, so dk/worsted weight 💕
Ok,thanks
