I changed the spark plugs as a preventative measure due to the mileage that was on the vehicle. Since we weren’t experiencing any problems I didn’t notice a change.
Question which I need a quick answer on if possible. The connector to the coil appears to be stuck. How to I get it off without breaking the housing? I dont see any tabs to squeeze or anything. Please advise as soon as you can. Thank you
You don’t need to change ignition coils if you’re not having problems or getting an engine light with a code that would point to a problem in this area.
Excellent job, but why didn't you replace the ignition coils as well when you had them out. Just curious. Im going to both, but excellent work. Ive seen a few vids on it, but yours was the best!
@PaulNaylor3 yeah, I think you said it had a little over 100k. I've got 204k. I could see not doing that as well too. There were a couple of things that you showed that simplified it. Thanks again, all the best!!
Unless you have very high mileage, the coils shouldn't need replaces. With over a 100,000 I would think you should still wait for replacement, unless of course something is going wrong with them.
Excellent Video! I'm more impressed on how much he was able to accomplish with just one hand, while holding the camera in the other hand.
Very helpful Video. Looks like a pretty straightforward job. I plan to take it on tomorrow. 👍
Thank you. Let us know how it goes!
Did you ever compare the plug gap on the old spark plugs?
No, I did not.
bummer. Very curious what the gap might have been. Did you remember if there was a performance or fuel mileage improvement? Thanks.

There is a push tab on the electrical connector to the coil. When you push on the tab with your thumb it releases it from the coil.
Watch the video at 10:15 and your question will be answered. I hope that helps.

Should you change ignition coils? Just curious about to attempt this job tomorrow

@@PaulNaylor3 thank you love your videos very informative and easy to follow, if you could also show how to change brake fluid and then bleed brakes
Thank you. Here is a brake fluid video on my 2017 CR-V that may be helpful:

Thank you. I didn’t replace the coils because they were working okay. I hope your job goes smoothly and I appreciate your comment.
