This is one of my favorite songs, and you definitely did it justice!! "Every night we fell in love" and "no one else could lift me high above" you did so amazing on both of these lines askjdhsjsj And the riff on "cursed" in the last chorus??? SO GOOD
This feels like a standout song for you, because usually your voice is a lot softer and a lot of your previous covers have been more soft in terms of vocals. It’s nice to hear you sing higher and belt your lines, it’s why I loved Poison and Out for Love so much. It’s great to hear some experimentation from you! I get the impression that you came into 2024 deciding to make a breakout.
I love fairytale retellings! Here are some I’ve found and enjoyed over the years that aren’t the super popular ones like A Court of Thorns and Roses lol. (note: some are considered children’s or YA but are still fun) The Wide-Awake Princess by E.D. Baker (Sleeping Beauty and other fairytales) Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier (the 12 Dancing Princesses) The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen (a graphic novel that features various retellings of common fairytales with cultural twists and influences from around the world) The Great Good Thing by Roderick Townley (not a retelling, but a fun story set in a literal fairytale world) House of Salt and Sorrow by Erin A. Craig (12 Dancing Princesses) Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik (Rumpelstiltskin) A Court of Sugar and Spice by Rebecca Kennedy (adult romance retelling of the Nutcracker)
The Sleeper And The Spindle by Neil Gaiman and Chris Riddell (Sorta-Sleeping Beauty and sorta-Snow White retelling) and The Book Of Lost Things by John Connolly (twisted fairytale world, an EXPERIENCE) are also great picks!
I'm still working on it, but "What Once Was Mine" is such a good book. It's a retelling of Tangled but Rapunzel basically has the Moondrop's power. Aka, her hair can kill.
I've loved this song since its first debut at Eurovision. Didn't know what Eurovision was 'till it came in my recommendeds back then. Thanks for the cover!
It was Annapantsu’s version that got me interested in Eurovision. Not the movie. Have been a Eurovision fan for a year, and I am an American. Who do you think should win this year?
Years ago, when I was younger I kinda liked a girl I knew She was mine and we were sweethearts That was then, but then it's true I'm in love with a fairytale Even though it hurts 'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind I'm already cursed Every day, we started fighting Every night, we fell in love No one else could make me sadder But no one else could lift me high above I don't know what I was doing When suddenly, we fell apart Nowadays, I cannot find her But when I do, we'll get a brand new start I'm in love with a fairytale Even though it hurts 'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind I'm already cursed She's a fairytale, yeah Even though it hurts 'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind I'm already cursed
This was excellent. A song that really screams your personality as well as showing the spirit of your love for singing. The beat was amazing, the vocals were on point, and the atmosphere was just gorgeous. I love the almost drum beat and violin tune in the background and it really makes me feel like I’m listening to an enchanting song. Plus I just generally love these kinds of songs since they always have this up beat allure and comforting feel to them, so its nice that your showing it some love. This was beautiful as always Chloe. Great job and I can’t wait to see what you cover next.💙 P.s. do thinks it’s possible you could do a cover from Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron; maybe Here I am, Always Return, Get off of my Back or even Sound The Bugle.
As far as I remember he's from Belarus, Lol, Belarus could have got the first Eurovision winner, if the pro-Russian Government didn't kick his parents and thousands of other Belarusians out of their homes... nevertheless - now the world has one of the best Eurovision songs thanks to Oleksandr .

Years ago, when I was younger
I kinda liked a girl I knew
She was mine and we were sweethearts
That was then, but then it's true
I'm in love with a fairytale
Even though it hurts
'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind
I'm already cursed
Every day, we started fighting
Every night, we fell in love
No one else could make me sadder
But no one else could lift me high above
I don't know what I was doing
When suddenly, we fell apart
Nowadays, I cannot find her
But when I do, we'll get a brand new start
I'm in love with a fairytale
Even though it hurts
'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind
I'm already cursed
She's a fairytale, yeah
Even though it hurts
'Cause I don't care if I lose my mind
I'm already cursed
I was at the premire and omg UR VOICE IS SO MAGICAL :000

Very... catching! :)
What a tragic song. You delivered it with a sort of desperate longing that really sold it.
SO COOL

Ok, we all know this cover rules. But can we talk about this thumbnail?! 😍
