      @@JosephKim So I bought one and use it for a few months now. Good device. Light weight, colors seems great and good angles, it is my carry-on second monitor when work on the go, and usefull as second ot third screen for panels and monitor on Premiere and After Effects. I just wish the included micro hdmi cable was a bit longer, and a small stand tripod would have been nice. Also I would prefer regular hdmi port size but on such a small device I guess there is no alternative. (oh well just noticed MD white on blue icon is my pro account but I am logged in with other one ^^)

    Thanks again for the excellent review, it's funny cuz I bought that MSI 5120x2160 monitor like 3 years ago after watching your video, and today Google search sent me to ur channel again when I am looking for reviews on this monitor XD
    Question, EVGA 3090 on my PC doesn't have any USB-C outputs (while the old Zotac 2080 somehow has..) So I am curious, would the touch function work in such a setup: connect the HDMI cable to my GPU and connect an USB C cable to my motherboard's USB C port? I remember Wacom Cintiq pen display uses such a setup back in the days.. I am not sure if ASUS would work the same way (From ur video, it seems that you only connect the monitor to your laptop using an USB cable)

      @ECENerdyJack 11 месяцев назад

      Or would a USB-C to DP cable work?

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  11 месяцев назад +1

      I have not owned a GPU with a USB-C. So, I have not tested this. But I don't think if that port on the GPU carries other peripheral data. If so, I think it can work. If it only carries display, then, no. Touch wouldnt work with that. Same thing for involving DP cable. Will be just display only.

      Update: Item arrived, for RTX 2080 that has an usb C port on the card, a single USB C to USB C cable gives me both touch function and display output. For 3090 that does not have a USB C output, I need to connect 2 cables to the monitor, 1 USB C to USB A cable to the motherboard, and 1 micro HDMI to HDMI cable to the card, and then I have both touch function and display output, just like how old Cintiq pen display works.

    Can anyone be so daft as to spend €€€ MONEY $$$ on something like this? Really? How about just getting a 14-inch laptop or 2-in-1, removing off the screen part -- and there you have it. Much cheaper solution, surely. Asus should be including this extra LCD for free with all of their laptops and 2-in-1s. You still need something to plug this thing into, and that something will already have a screen. So this thing is practically useless. Nobody had asked for this product segment, but the mfrs are saturating us with them.

      It's daft and ignorant to think your lifestyle and use cases apply to everyone. In my case, I'm not a digital artist but train people virtually. Having a second monitor when traveling, located right next to my webcam and laptop, is a much better setup than using the hotel's TV and awkwardly tilting my head up and away from the webcam. If you want to be a cheapskate then do it, but no reason to try and lower the professionalism bar for other folks.
