1. ‘Scream VI.’
2. ‘M3GAN.’
3. ‘Saw X.’
4. ‘Cocaine Bear.’
Love all four of them! 😁
Damn, Ive been so busy with work this year I missed out on a lot of great looking movies. Great year end list as always.
A very sub-par year for horror imo. But I think it's a pretty natural response to how spoiled we were in the HISTORICAL year that was 2022!!!
If Cocaine Bear gets a sequel, it better take place in Haddonfield on Halloween Night as the bear competes with Myers for the highest body count.
THE BEAR SNORTS TONIGHT!
I can’t do a top ten because I have so many that I haven’t seen yet: Unwelcome, Suitable Flesh, Dark Harvest. I do know that most of 2023 has been disappointing: Scream 6, Evil Dead Rise, Infinity Pool.
Ahhh this list was amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
Lets go part 2
Ur lists are so good . Great video
Thank you Anthony!
Looking forward to Top 10 Horror movies of 2023 Volume 3 🎥 Fantastic Job Buddy 🍻
Thank you!
The first half of Scream 6 is in my top 5 best, and the second half of the movie is in my top 5 most disappointing. I'm surprised ghostface(s?) didn't survive at the end, just like every other main character. All the paramedics in New York deserve a raise.
Great point haha. Ghostface is the only one without plot armor.
The Core 4 seem to have Wolverine's mutation. What a joke.
I really liked It's a Wonderful Knife and I wasn't expecting too, both because I'm thoroughly jaded on most things modern and made-for-streaming does not breed confidence. But I ended up totally digging it. A nice surprise.
Yeah there were a few streaming gems this year.
You hit the nail on the head with your review of Scream uhhh 50. The newbies came in there like they'd been around for years...
Merry christmas Lee! :) I think besides Saw X my most favorite of the year is The Outwaters. No movie has disturbed me or messed with my head in a long time as much as that one did. One of those movies where your left trying to come up with theories of what happened. And the imagery is haunting at times
I’ve heard so many mixed reviews on that one.
Another solid list; looking back, you start to realize just how much good horror came out this year. I hadn’t heard of Two Witches so I will check it out. Cocaine Bear was a lot of fun and I blind bought Wrath of Becky after seeing your review; I wasn’t disappointed. Looking forward to your “worst of” list because I am curious to see what you don’t like.
Yeah definitely check out Two Witches! Potential horror icon in there.
Great list #2 Lee! glad to see you left some 2023 "favorites" for this one aswell👍 would have loved to see Beaten to Death make the list but that's just personal preference I guess😉but so glad to see Infinity Pool get some well deserved recognition btw, and awesome to hear u reference Possessor by Brandon Cronenberg aswell, loved that one💯
Thanks Adam. I haven't seen Beaten to Death (or heard of it honestly). I'll check it out man!
Cocaine Bear was really fun to watch.
I want my money back on this one. With a title like THAT, this movie SHOULD HAVE BEEN a cult classic. Instead, it was a WAY TOO CUTESY dud that my 74 year old Mom liked?!? Talk about FALSE ADVERTISING!
I’m actually glad cobweb gets mentioned it surprised the hell out of me when I saw it
Awesome stuff buddy and your rocking the Dolly shirt! I like that u let us know about movies we may have not heard of!
Thank you!
My favorite horror movie of 2023 is surprisingly going to SAW X
Both lists are great but no love for Megan? Did you not like it or was that on last year‘s list? I can’t remember.
Man I didn't like M3gan at all. Tried twice.
@@DrumdumsOfficial ok. Thx for answering!
"When Evil Lurks" is #1 AND you're wearing a Dolly shirt...This just became one of my favorite DD videos! Lol
Haha I couldn't resist.
All the 2023 Video Game adaptions I've seen ranked:
1. Twisted Metal
2. The Last of Us
3. Super Mario
4. Five Nights at Freddy's
5. Grans Trismo
I was one of the few people who saw “Nowhere” and you’re right. It’s awesome. You HAVE to watch “Candy Land”!
I'll add it to my list Scott.
Saw some of these films but now have few more to see ... 😂😂😂 Thank you
Welcome Gabriel!
Not my top 10 as I haven't even started working on it yet, but are a few I don't think you've watched:
El Conde (a bit slow but an interest take on a vampire film)
Onyx the Fortuitous (not a good movie, but you can tell they cared and made this real enjoyable)
Dr Cheon and the Lost Talisman (horror comedy from Korea)
Sister Death (a bit of a slowburn ghost story)
A Thousand Days (Newest movie from Kimo Stamboel who as been making a name for himself)
Caddy Hack (if you're in the mood for a so bad its good horror)
Thanks for the list Aaron. No I haven't seen these yet.
We need a best x mas horror movie list
I definitely need an updated list.
1.Talk to Me
2.Evil Dead Rise
3. When Evil Lurks.
4.Thanksgiving
5. M3GAN
6.Saw X
7. Scream VI
8. Renfield
9. Knock at the Cabin
**HONORABLE MENTION**
"GODZILLA MINUS ONE"
(Not technically a horror movie but has some horror elements to it. Easily a top 3 film of 2023)
Talk to me is wild
For me honestly: 2023 goes to Fan made Halloween 63. Perfection.
If it was full movie I challenge most sequels and remakes with it.
Will check it out. Thanks for recommending it.
Just watched. I guess it was okay, but c'mon, best of the year??? I mean, I've seen better FAN MADE movies!!!
@@HeelSection3825You may like whatever you want.
Really enjoyed H63.
Great List!!
Thank you!
My top 10 Horror movies of 2023! And.. I really look forward to these Lee :) Thanks 4 doing them brother
I don’t have a too 10 horror movies since I skip some of them this year but I’m just gonna do top 7 horror movies the ones that I seen so far this year Lee and here’s my list of movies Lee brother bro
1. Scream VI
2. Evil Dead Rise
3. The Boogeyman
4. The Exorcist Believer
5. Insidious The Red Door
6. Meg 2 The Trench
7. Saw X
Awesome Top 10
Mr. Lee
I Was Thrilled & Delighted
To See Cocaine Bear
Make Your List
One Of My Favorites Of 2023
Yeah it was fun.
I watched the video game adoption Grans Trismo on Netflix today and I actually liked it. Does it make my top 10 movies of the year? Yes. But not the top 5. After watching it a couple times on Paramount plus earlier this year because Neve Campbell approved it, Scream 6 may or may not make my top 10. I haven't decided yet. I will very soon, though
Well, clearly I missed a few this year, as there are 5 or 6 movies in this list I wanted to see but couldn't find, or just didn't know about. Thank you!
However, one more honorable mention I'd like to share - Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism. A divisive movie but in my opinion, way better than the other two big exorcism flicks from this year. It's also inspired by real events, and like Emily Rose (but harder edged), it delves into the themes of psychology vs spirituality, and the abuse of power.
I'll check it out George!
Talking about horror I was doing culinary prep and cut the tip of my thumb off today. I'm good it was maybe 17% won't affect my typing.
Man, that IS pretty horrific! Glad to hear you're ok!
Randall I'm so sorry man! Oof. Hope it heels up soon man.
I was about to ask when evil lurks, but I see that it's on this list good for you for not forgetting
I agree about Scream 6. It was definitely a mixed bag. Probably the most exciting and tense of the franchise, but the third act went COMPLETELY off the rails! However, Cobweb was a HUGE letdown for me. Plenty of atmosphere, but a LAZY, bait and switch ending. Why were the parents acting suspicious and pretty much EVIL up until the twist?!? I'll tell you why; TERRIBLE SCRIPT!!!
Yeah it's a frustrating movie for sure.
I was sitting here about to start talking shit that Smile wasn't on either of your lists, then I realized how time is flying these days and how it came out last year lol.
Haha yep. Check out last year's list.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Hey did you ever review or have you seen Hellbender? General curiosity
was happy to see infinty pool make the list, but i am upset 'Beau is Afraid' isnt on either of the two lists. Hope it doesnt end up on your 10 worst ]: I thought the movie was weird but it delivered some awesome tension filled scenes
Banger video as usual, Lee
Might not of thought of it as a horror
i understand, but there are def horror elements in it@@aaronrumph3291
Yeah Beau didn't feel like straight up horror to me.
i can respect that, lee@@DrumdumsOfficial
I'm convinced anyone who unironically says "it's been a bad year for horror" is just an old head who's stuck in the past ,or a larping millenial who thinks horror peaked in the 80's. These last couple years have been excellent.
Yep.
2022 may have been THE BEST year for horror I've ever seen! And I'm 46. The 80's have NOTHING on the modern era!
Well. I actually agree with your take on The Nun 2. Talk about making a decent fun modern jump horror movie. I can't tell if it's just that the first one was SO bad or that the story in this one was a lot more compelling. I definitely liked it more than the first nun and the last Conjuring movie The Devil Made me Do it. I'm a huge low budget horror fan and I think there was SOME GREAT low budget and indie horror this year. However, I didn't check a lot of release dates. So while a bunch of movies were new to me this year a LOT of them were not from this year.
My favorite movie of 2023 thus far is the Animated film Scooby-Doo and Kypto Too.
So looking forward to Suitable Flesh!!
It's batshit crazy!
@@DrumdumsOfficial good!!
Completely forgot Scream 6 came out at the beginning of this year
Yep.
1. Evil Dead Rise
2. Scream 6
3. Megan
4. The Nun 2
5. Cobweb
6. Last Voyage
7. No One Will Save You
8. The Boogeyman
9. It’s A Wonderful Knife
10. The Popes Exorcist
Kind of a weak year for horror for me tbh. EDR is the only horror id say I loved this year.
My top 10 that I have watched. I've missed out on a lot of horror this year.
1. Cobweb
2. Thanksgiving
3. Evil Dead: Rising
4. Talk To Me
5. Saw X
6. Last Voyage of The Demeter
7. Dark Harvest
8. Christmas Bloody Christmas
could be 2022. Profane as hell but also gory and fun
9. No One Will Save You
10. VHS85
HMs: The Pope's Exorcist, Nefarious, Knock At The Cabin, Infinity Pool Insidious: Red Door. I stuck most of those other blockbuster horror flicks in my worst of 2023.
Good list!
Cob web is in my top 3 this year. Good stuff Lee. Ps you don't need to go back to the first nun
Haha that's what I figured.
I Love the top 10 list ...u get to check out movies you didn't know they were out . I think the last 3 years + he had sold horror movies...Terrifier 2 & X or recent Saw to name a few ...we need the Final Destination 6 .
Yeah man FD6 is long overdue.
PLEASE top 10 worst 2023 horror movies and movies of 2023! :)
It's the next video I'm recording Chaos.
Another great list :) though I think I’m the only person who didn’t like when evil lurks. I don’t know it just didn’t do anything for me. But I loved the directors other film Terrified. Maybe I will give it another go one day as so many people love it.
Other films I enjoyed this year that I didn’t include on my first ranking would be - Infinity Pool, It lives inside, Totally killer, The popes exorcist, Cocaine bear and I was actually pleasantly surprised by the exorcist believer.
I’m looking forward to your other list. Especially the worse ones haha. The lows have been really low this year!
I saw the quality in When Evil Lurks, and it was relentless. But I will say as much as it was hyped, it didn't top my overall list for 2023.
Saw X 🔥🔥🔥 Scream in New York a good 2nd
Yeah this year was a throwaway year for horror, glad you included saw which was probably my favorite horror movie of the year and you’re right they concentrated more on storytelling and less gore. Infinity pool was cool but I don’t think it was better than possessor. When evil lurks was a massive let down for me, did not live up to the hype. I was more hyped for Enys men and skinamarink but those really fell flat. Hopefully 2024 is a better year for the horror genre.
Man Possessor was so good, and twisted.
@@DrumdumsOfficial I’m hyped for the seeding next year in January, check out the trailer looks promising.
nowhere was great overall...tho cell phone reception is no no in middle of ocean. and the whale and floating baby scene had me roll my eyes.
Haha great point about the cell phone. No way.
Yep...I also didn't like Scream 6 ...most reviewers like it ...which I thought it was ok definitely not my favorite on the franchise...out of the sequels 2 , 4 and 3 do it for me .
Yeah it might be my least favorite.
I liked cocaine bear a whole lot more than I should've 😅. Not sure what that says about me. Great list Lee!😊
"I could understand it. I just don't care!" I need to say that more often. 😅😂
Haha me too man!
My top 10 horror movies of 2023:
1. When Evil Lurks
2. Infinity Pool
3. M3GAN
4. Evil Dead Rise
5. Godzilla Minus One
6. Saw X
7. Scream VI
8. Thanksgiving
9. Totally Killer
10. Talk to Me
Great list!
You actually had a movie i didnt watch. I'll have to throw some you havent at you
I forgot to put this as a Honorable Mention but it is called "SQUEALER" (4) yeah I know that it is a horror film which I forgot to add in my list but the reason I did not put this in the list is because the story was not very entertaining, the characters did not seem to confident the story well. Oh my God the blood was all CGI because two scene at the end I wouldn't tell you what it is but it's like watching a green screen stock footage CGI blood on RUclips. It's bad but I was laughing like why that's sound stupid. Because this is Grindstone Entertainment Group a distributor of Lionsgate aka direct-to-digital. I can see what they're going with.
That sounds like a contender for the 'worst' list.
@@DrumdumsOfficial pretty much
Totally agree with you on SAW X! I checked out after part 5 because the stories just became so bloated!
Preach.
Duddddeeeeeee love this list but I am so happy to see Suitable Flesh and Two Witches is my favourite witch movie ever it's soo fucking good and so dark tooo , your the 1st person I've heard say that you like Two Witches
Thank you! Loved Suitable Flesh and Two Witches!
scream 6 was good up till the 3rd act at least mrs. loomis went out with a bang literally, no holds barred. the killers at the end of 6 all went out with a desperate whimper.
My favorite is When Evil Lurks for sure! One of the best horror films in a few years, in my opinion. Hard to watch, horrifying, creative, well acted. Its like Hereditary or The Silence of The Lambs or Martyrs. A perfect film, but very hard to watch and not "fun" at all. I dont know if I want to watch it again, but it is a true horror film.
It's true horror for sure.
Scream 6 wasn’t bad but it shouldn’t be on anyone’s top anything list. That third act ruined an otherwise very solid movie. Also, It’s a Wonderful Knife is just bad.
Yeah that's why it's #17 of the year for me horror wise.
Infinity pool and When Evil lurks didn't work for me on either viewing.
I gave my thoughts on them, but everyone was hyping up When Evil Lurks, I just didn't want to be called "dumb" for not understand the films.
I havn't even heard of "Two Witches", im gonna have to check it out. I thought this was a pretty good year for horror. Love the list, can't wait to see the worst of the year list
Yeah definitely give Two Witches a try.
Thanks for the list. For me, the redeeming values of the Nun movies are atmosphere and the it's a period piece.
I can agree with that. I like a good period piece horror flick.
Mostly agree on both videos. Did you see The Blackening? I think its easily a top slasher this year. Also thought The Pope's Exorcist was solid, worth seeing for Russell Crowe's performance.
No I heard it wasn't that great so I skipped it. (The Blackening)
Lee, I think you forgot to include WONKA.
Oops.
Speak No Evil should be on the list and Skinamarink.
Speak No Evil is 2022 and Skinamarink sucks donkey balls.
My favorite horror movie of 2023, I think is probably going to go to Cobweb, even though Antony Starr pretty much was just Homelander minus the powers and on just mannerisms alone in that movie, it was still great.
Also fun fact for you about that movie Lee, I don’t know if you knew this because, I didn’t know this, until late that night that my friend David and I had watched it at my place and after he went home I had googled it out of curiosity.
The blonde bully kid, that was bullying the main kid at school and that he and his cousins came to try to get revenge on the main kid at his house that the creature systematically picked off one by one, the blonde kid was actually, Luke Busey, and if that name sounds familiar, that was actually because, it was Gary Busey from Predator 2 and many other movies throughout the 80’s and 90’s son
Cobweb was cool
Cocaine Bear is insane fun. I watched Two Witches on Netflix. Actually pretty good. There's Cobweb. Should be higher. The Nun 2 was a little too Superhuman Nun for me. The Pope's Exorcist was way better. Oh no Scream 6(the un killable core 4) is in my top 10 worst along with my worst of 2023 The Exorcist :Believer. So glad you left that stinker out. Great list. I gotta watch Where Evil Lurks ASAP. My Flashback horror film for this year is a 2019 one I barely watched in 2023. The Furies. Very cool original idea to team up women with Jason type slashers and watch them pick each other off. May the best pair win.
Luckily the audience I saw it with made Cocaine Bear a good time. I don't know what my reaction would be at home.
Apart from 3 or 4 movies this year wasnt that good for horror. I agree with what people are saying. Many horror movies but most of them being meh at most.
Yeah it wasn't the best, but we had a lot of decent ones at least.
Wrath of Becky deserves to be higher loved this film we better get a part 3
Two witches was awesome and influencer was nuts loved the ending
Still need to watch cobweb
Infinity pool was a balls to wall nuts
I hope we get a part 3 as well!
Just finished When Evil Lurks and for me problem always starts with children in horror. I love Andy in Child's Play etc but the dog scene here was too much. This movie lacks what Terrifier 2 has. Perfect Heroine and well rewarding ending. I hate Martyrs and Hereditary too.
This isn't that type of movie. It's more about paranoia and lost hope. Terrifier 2 is a slasher.
@@DrumdumsOfficial It was supposed to be "movies" as a sub genre. Hereditary, Martyrs and When Evil.....they have in common many things but lack of hope mainly. Same with "Mirrors".
Am I first? Do I win a prize! Woooooow….🎉
Wonderful Knife over Scream 6??? Never in a million years... haha😅
Yeah but I couldn't stand Scream 6. Movies are subjective my friend.
Horror has had a good few years. The genre is coming out with lots of solid movies. The action and comedy genre has been on a rapid decline though
Yeah so true man. What happened to great comedies?!
Comedy won't get good again until the VERY VOCAL minority of SJW's learn to be a little less offended by EVERYTHING and STFU!
Fuck yeah cobweb was cool
Hell yeah!
Love your content and appreciate your opinions, but why not just do a top 20 video? Lol.
I'll be honest. For attention spans on RUclips, 20 might be too much. Plus I always give 3 HMs, so you're getting 13 movies each video. So two videos just makes more sense. And I pulled a couple of the "golden eggs" (When Evil Lurks, Infinity Pool) for the part 2 list to even things out a bit. Thanks for asking.
Tell me a movie that's scarier than this and I'll tell you you're right, but you're wrong. 😉
Haha
Yes, Nowhere was awesome! Really enjoyed that one. The Nun 2 was again a disappointment for me. When Evil Lurks was also awesome.
Hell yeah didn't hear much talk for Nowhere. Super solid.

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more about Cocaine Bear. With a title like THAT, this movie should have been a non-stop STUPIDITY FEST. It was WAY TOO cutesy and actually attempted a few dramatic beats!?! Just NO! I want my money back! That is FALSE ADVERTISING! I was expecting a cult classic and got something that my Mom liked instead!?! And she's 74!
I guess it was sort of funny in a "Mountain Dew drinkin, Larry the Cable Guy" kinda way. But that's REALLY NOT my style of humor! Again, MAJOR FALSE ADVERTISING!!!
I have to admit, I hated every single movie on this list
I don't understand how ANYONE could have liked Cocaine Bear?!? What should have been a nonstop STUPIDITY FEST of a cult classic turned out to be a cutesy DUD that my 74 year old Mom liked?!? Talk about FALSE ADVERTISING!!!
Damn. Every movie?
@@DrumdumsOfficial Every movie. It was a bad year for horror films. A lot of the newer films just aren’t doing it for me. You watch once and quickly move on.
@@johndough6623 I agree. I think the best new horror movie I saw this year was Talk to Me, and IT wasn't really anything to write home about.
Okay now you got them all 🤘
I think I’m one of the only few who didn’t like When Evil Lurks. It was okay to me but other than a few “shocking” scenes to me it wasn’t that great. IMO.
