@Trantor The Troll Simply put they aren't powerful enough to crunch the ever harder numbers of the bitcoin blockchain so over time they continually lose profitability in relation to the power they use so they get junked. Usually people try to sell them right before the end of their useful life to get some money back from the hardware.

@DeamIT Without risk of losing all?? haha you can loose all and then some friend, remember the miners and installations have a cost and ROI (return of investment) is calculated upon those cost plus the energy costs and coin production. So if you invest say 50.000$ (wich was nothing with 4500$ miners) and the coin value is 6 or 8k $ you have a X time for ROI, now if the coin value takes a shit say drops to 2 or 3k $ your ROI has just doubled and you are in the shit, with probably not enough money to pay the energy bill so you have to turn off the miners and guess what? That increases you ROI even more!!! remember the miners have to be on to pay themselves... So yeah you can lose all, even more than all... And this actually has happened, there are unlucky people who bought miners when they where like 4000$ each and then bitcoin took a shit from one week to the other the miners went from 4000$ to like 500$ and ROI went thru the roof etc...

You then state you have 100KW to your house (about 3x, this is wrong) You probably meant 100 AMP service, which would be an average small to medium size house. (20-24 KW). Some newer big houses use 200 AMP service panels. Still only 50KW MAX EVER, and a house wouldnt use 100% fully 24/7, far from it. So I'm standing beside his 30-35 houses worth of electricity per container figure.

I feel like I've driven past this place on my way to visit friends in Spokane. And here I thought all those sheds where full of grains, potatoes, hay and other such things. I love this state.
But what kills me is that I pay way more for water in WA than I ever did in AZ. Power was hella expensive in AZ, oh the horror stories I've heard of $300 power bills during the summer, but water? Let's just say my first water bill in WA gave me sticker shock. But you know what, the water here is infinitely better than the salt solutions available in AZ. I don't think 4 years ago everyone knew about low electric prices in cetrain counties in Washington State. They probably didn't want everyone to know that where they were located they were paying like 2 cents a KHW.
I think at the time they were paying about 3 cents per KWH but I also know they had some insanely long contract before they started construction meaning they are still paying that same price today when everyone else is paying like 11-13 cents per KWH which means they can make a lot of money just renting their equipment out for cloud mining, etc.

@@Naddel81able Cryptocurrency keeps growing and spreading. The future is a long time. We'll both be long dead and people will still be arguing about it. But to presume that fiat paper currency is going to be the system forever is to ignore history.
