My copy is by Eagle Records 1999.
On the first three booklet pages is something like a short-biography written by Steve Malins/Q-Magazine.
"The industrial trip hop of Deadliner is inspired by "the darkest nightmare of my life, which has stayed with me to this day.I´d gone back to my room after a show and, as I went to bed, I began to feel uneasy. It was as though something dark and brooding was watching me, a very scary, uncomfortable feeling.I lay down on my bed and went......

I had s similar experience when I was younger when I got some Dennis Wheatly books out of the school library Over my teens and early 20;s even later I would sometimes have scary nights where I would be awake but asleep and I would feel as if something was trying to enter my body and possess me, I couldn't move untill minutes later and I would try and fight and hit whatever it is but it was gone, never could work out what it was though I was told never sleep on your back for too long,

Inside the booklet is a scary story about this song. Something about a demon like shadow-cloud that appeared above his bed.
I can remember that the author Paulo Coelho talked about a similar story in relation to his past activities in a secret society.
It was part of a black magic incarnation ritus.
I think it was a OTO ritus but I´m not sure........................

I swear this album had a massive influence on the Trip-Hop that came out a year or two later. Tricky, in particular, listened to this album, and even this song, a hell of a lot, I suspect.

This album is heavily inspired by Depeche Mode's Songs of Faith and Devotion (record influenced by Madchester movement), said by Numan itself. That supposed influence you say on Tricky I think It came from DM's album and the Madchester beats too, because he covered Mode's Judas on Nearly God. Anyway, It's all my supposition.

The problem with this album... at least the copies of it that I have owned... is that the sound isn't nearly this clear - it's VERY muddy. But yeah, this is a great comeback album. :)

Apparently Gary did the mastering himself without prior experience, and he admitted the quality suffered. I hope there's a way to remaster it
