The dance element of the beginner cha cha cha is woefully missing. The full name of the dance is cha cha cha. It is the sound of the shuffle of a triple step. Your version reminds of a bachata version in which a step is substituted with a tap. The standard cha cha has 10 steps in 8 beats of a musical phrase. Your version has only 6 steps and 2 taps in the same musical phrase. All the other elements you showed are fantastic. Timing is spot on. Bravo. Keep dancing. It is a lot of fun.
Let me say something the biggest mistake i see in this video, in fact 99.99% of people do this. The problem is that they have NO FRAME. Just watch it their hands moving everywhere like spaghetti! The most important things to know in chacha: 1. FRAME 2.LEARN YOUR PART 3.NEVER LIFT YOUR FEET TOO HIGH 4. YOUR NOT WALKING! YOUR CHANGING WEIGHT.
The only reason there dancing is because they are partners, so since the partner knows her part the gentlemen doesn't have to LEAD. If this was a random person (Like in normal ballroom) he will not be able to dance because of SPAGHETTI ARMS!

Their variations, as labeled, are spot on and clearly they are students not professionals. Walking with music is dancing my friend. When you walk, you are actually changing weights, lol. Cha cha, you are correct, is not one of the walking dances because moving forward you are supposed to land on the balls of your foot. In beginner waltz, the teachers begin by walking the students with waltz music. Thanks for your contribution to the chat. Keep dancing.

I'm not an expert, I"m in silver league and your the first one that actually knew about chacha and waltz. Your correct, Waltz and foxtrot are walking dances and in latin dances you step at the balls of your feet, like in Rumba which is very similar to waltz, but the main difference is like you said "balls of your foot" in rumba there is a box and a turning box same with waltz. Like i said i'm not an expert, but i know enough to find mistake's in video's and dance ballroom.

The "frame" you mentioned is a must in this dance. The lead and follow using the frame is like a gateway to creative dancing and a memory assistant to the basics of the dance. I am waiting for covid pandemic to be over so I can check if I can lead Argentine tango. Dancing is a lot of fun, right?
