In this quick beginner cha cha dance tutorial, Mila teaches the 7 most popular beginner steps that every beginner should start with when learning how to dance cha cha.
    Cha Cha Basic Step
    Cha Cha New York
    Cha Cha Spot Turn
    Cha Cha Hand to Hand
    Cha Cha Open Basic
    Cha Cha Basic in Place
3 Cha Cha Chas Forward and Back
The CHA CHA CHA BASIC STEP consists of 3 parts: A chacha Chasse, a chacha forward break and a chacha back break.
The NEW YORK in cha cha consists of 2 parts. A chacha chasse and a chacha forward break. They are connected by a 90 degree change of direction
Cha Cha SPOT TURN can be danced solo for both parters. Or, the follower can use it to dance the underarm turn.
Cha Cha HAND TO HAND is in a way the opposite of a Cha Cha New York. Because instead of crossing over into a chacha forward break, you will cross over into a chacha back break.
A Cha Cha OPEN BASIC contains a forward cha cha lock step and a back cha cha lock step. They are connected by either a forward break or a back break.
The Cha Cha BASIC IN PLACE is also known as the compact chasse in cha cha cha.
The THREE CHA-CHA-CHAS FOWARD AND BACK step contains 3 forward cha cha locksteps danced in a row and 3 back cha cha locksteps danced in a row.
These 7 beginner basic cha cha steps can be put together into a cha cha routine that can be danced solo or a cha cha routine that can be danced with a partner. But how to dance cha cha with a partner? In order to dance these basic cha cha steps with a partner, it’s important for the leader to start with the opposite foot to the follower.
Cha Cha Cha is one of the 5 latin dances in international ballroom dancing. It’s known for it’s up beat rhythm and flirty character. The cha cha dance originated in Cuba.
As always, Mila teaches this beginner cha cha dance lesson quickly and efficiently. With lots of attention paid to detail in these very basic cha cha steps. These 7 basic cha cha steps are a perfect place to start for any beginner latin dancer, or beginner cha cha dancer. How to dance cha cha will be found right here in this beginner cha cha dance tutorial.
And just a reminder, we have a beginner cha cha dance steps video that combines all 7 of these beginner basic chacha steps into a routine. The link can be found at the top of this description. Happy Cha Cha dancing!

Hi, I have a question. I am on a ballroom dance team and some of my friends on team tell me I am very stiff when dancing, what exactly does that mean? And how do I fix it?

    • @MilaDanceSport
      @MilaDanceSport  3 года назад +7

Hi Meghan! That's a great question. I would love to make a video on flexibility in latin dance. It will have to wait a little as I need to take a break from filming. I do have 3 more videos uploaded and scheduled to come out before that happens. I'll put this question on the list as the first one to film after the break. But just quick right here, perhaps you want to work on flexibility in your hips, shoulders and rib cage. I am sure you are a beautiful dancer! I hope a comment from a friend such as this one is not going to get you down. I believe dancing should be about expressing what we feel through music. And what you are expressing is unique to you and therefore beautiful.

Oh yes that would be very helpful to make a video, thanks for that! I’ll look forward to seeing it! And yeah I’m ok with the comment it’s constructive criticism! And thank you, that’s so nice of you to say 😊

Hmmm, cha-cha-cha keep toes on the floor ; knee never goes up when you start a turn; in New York back knee never touch front knee; Spot turn starts with cross without turning body at all , foot slitely front not side , when changing weight one leg is bent not bouth straight; Hand to hand -cross ower back meens leg straite back the shortest route not with the ronde jambe (half circle) (you do it better in quick variation) ; those 3 cha-cha-cha name is triple ......... keep dancing but not teaching ;-)
