Nice work sir. I started cleaning gutters when I was 31. Did it for 3 years. Started up selling tree work on top of gutter work. Now I own a tree company 5 employees, and make 300k a year. Age 36. All started with cleaning gutters with a telescoping ladder and knocking on doors.

@@SpencerClaeys okay did you go to schooling for that or take online courses? Cause me and my buddy are thinking of running a FB page for our area to start this
It’s a common misconception for the most part that it “inhibits” or “prevents” moss growth. Mostly because even roof cleaners themselves don’t really fully understand zinc or other products used to kill moss. Zinc, citrus oil, chlorine, and any of the others are “on contact” it kills whatever is present at the time of application including spores. Moss for the most part takes around 12 - 14 months to grow from a spore to a size visible to the human eye. Zinc is used primarily to substitute the need to remove 100% of moss growth. If you were to remove 99% of moss on one half and use no treatment and the other half do use treatment the moss would still return at the same time for both half’s. A lot of people don’t realize that zinc only has a half life of 72 hours before it becomes ineffective and it needs rain or water to rinse/activate it on the roof. That’s why when you see zinc on roofs in the summer time they just waisted product and the clients money.
This is great for your little business, clients can trust the job is getting done. I don't know about quality of the service, cause I know nothing about roof cleaning, but it seems cool :) Certainly takes patience though. Good music choice :)
Hey I just started a business doing all this kind of work, how do you go about removing moss off roofs too steep to walk? and how does that play into your quote
I know u said it rains alot where u live but should u wash the powder off or is it best to leave it and lwt the rain take care of it but what if it doenst rain alot
The zinc blows off the roof, it's better to apply when its going to rain that week, it's also suggested to wear a mask as you don't want to breath that powder.
I know some roof softwash companies that only spray a 6% Chem mix on the roofs and let the moss come off naturally. Do you think this technique is inefficient?
Have to convince the customer to wait 6 months for it to fall and looks bad after ur done. Ur also gonna be done in 45 minutes lol idk how to charge that
It depends, i've had great success with this technique as it removes all the prganic matter which is super impartant. Plus it looks great that same day
I live in Chicago and I’m going to start going this you have inspired me to do it but the problem I’m running into is can I still do this in the winter ? Our winters are crazy cold other than doing snow what’s another service in the cold I could do to stay busy ?
Looks like all your videos the roofs are dry and you can scrape the moss off pretty easy. I live in Washington as well and it’s hard this time of year to get a dry roof and get the moss off that easy. Do you do any pretreatment? I’d love to know. Want to get into the business but I just can’t figure out how you can clean the whole roof so fast.
No Way. Last thing you want is a cut into the shingles and cause a leak that ruins ceilings and expensive items in the house. I use plastic scrapers and very stiff bristle push brooms.
I like your videos so far man I’m in Northern California and am currently working a dead end warehouse job and I want to do this as a business im definitely going to subscribe and get your book I’d appreciate some feedback thanks and keep it up 💯
in France it's tile roof, you say you ask 1000$ for this type of roof instead of 350$. i can't this amount, I can ask max 500€ (if I was a pro of this, at start I would ask 300€ . But in reality I don't know if I can do it)
I think it’s a ph chemical that helps keep the moss off and growing or sticking to the roof. Not sure but I remember him mentioning it in another video.
It's white and greenish/blueish powder, so I guess it is some zinc stuff and some kind of copper salt to prevent or at least slow down new moss from growing.
,equipement cost, Material Cost, prep time, clean up. I dont do roofs. But i already found reasons you might not do a soft wash. I paint houses. Sometimes a pressure wash and hand cleaning is more cost effective then cleaning product in a barrrl and soft washing a house. Also its important to have a variety of techniques. This method seems to cost very little and 3 hour labour
This seems like the hard way to be honest. 5-6% sh would do the trick . And you would be up there all day manually removing moss and possibly damaging the shingles. I mean to each there own. But you can void a homeowner’s warranty on there roof by removing it and causing granule loss. I doubt how your doing it . That it would be the case . But still . Just way more work than needed . But again get it however you can I guess. If the tools you have are a stick and a broom. And you can make it work. Then more power to you .
FL roofs aren’t like this. I see a lot of clean looking roofs. I think down here the most you see is soft washing and gutter cleans. Although I’m not a fan of heights, I have experience going up 40’ at least and this type of work just seems so satisfying looking.
Wow that stick trick of yours really cleaned it up nice. And using two blowers at once is interesting, I've never seen that done before, it solves the problem of having to walk back and forth to angle the blower back at the spot that you just cleaned cuz crap flies everywhere when your doing this stuff. I have that problem when I use my back pack blower and I feel stupid having to walk back and forth and keep turning around to hit the same spot more than once. $100 an hour sounds steep but it looks like you do a great job and better to get paid more cuz your worth it than charge less and lose passion. Good luck, you won't need it.

zinc powder and copper sulfate powder
Sir i can do this in uk also ?? And what should I charge if I am a beginner in this field? Pleas reply big fan sir
How long does the powder you apply prevent or inhibit moss growth?
be careful it is corrosive if used many times

How long lasts powder and zinc effect?
Un Latvia we use stop moss sprayable chemical and it lasts for 3-5 years.
For treatment do you just powder and leave it?

The RIDGEPRO Roof Peak Anchor
Any ridge hook ladder will do! You have to move it around, but it will do the job.
Did you read the label on the moss killer (may contain Pesticides ?)

I work until first week of December then take about a month off to go to Mexico or somewhere and the start working in Jan
Pretty much all year round if you know how to stay busy
I cleaned my first roof last week, was a little scary at first. After I got my "sea legs" it was no problemo. Made $300 in 3 hours.
it is CAKE if youre willing to deal with the fall risk. not an issue on less steep roofs but 45 degrees gets a little sus
Yo bro what’s in the powder mix that you use to treat the roof at the end?
I am watching you from Nepal.

If OSHA caught you doing that without proper safety harnesses, they would fine you a lot more than your quoted amount.
