Good tutorial. I never did a deep dive into GMail before and didn't realize so many features were available. I was particularly interested in the"compose" info and for me, found that the most helpful. I think I am going to set up a dummy account to play around with. Very basic and straight to the point which is what I wanted. My only issue would be the size of the font as my mother is the one that I will have to go through this and it is small to read. I suppose we could adjust through the browser but since I am not with her I don't want here to learn yet another skill for now.

I've recently, in the last few days, started using Gmail Online. I've always used it via something like Outlook/Windows Live Mail and more recently, Windows Mail. I was always having issues with these programmes, so have decided to abandon/uninstall them in favour of the online option. I always used that to check emails away from home, but never really bothered with it, otherwise.
But, with a bit of tinkering I'm really impressed as to how customizable and "clean" looking it is, now I've tweaked things.
I'm particularly happy with the "unsend" option, which is a "default," although I've altered it to 30 seconds.
The one thing I *can't* do is get notifications to work?
I've tried the available options in "Settings" but nothing seems to happen.
It's not a major issue, but if anyone has had the same experience and managed to solve it, it'd be much appreciated! 😉👍

I can't thank you enough for this! Primary email is Yahoo and I'm used to that interface and its features. Coming to Gmail was like stepping onto an alien planet 8-o I only use Gmail for a few business purposes but I've shied away because it was so confusing.
