The cottage is stunning, ladies! Well done for not ‘over doing ‘ it. Our house is also full of books ! I love your eclectic mix of furniniture and ornamentation ,often I think the less money you have to use for something the better . Somehow it gets your mind and the creative juices flowing! I bet your little cottage loves you back for rescuing her! X
Thanks so much! 😊Yes I do agree with you. If I had alot of money to spend and so infinite choices I would probably never make a decision! The cottage does seem much happier I think x
I’ve never seen a more cosy, gorgeous, quirkier little cottage ever. The before and after photos look like a different place. What an amazing job you’ve done. And that view from your bedroom!!! You are so blessed 🤗🤗🤗
I love that looking around your home there is nothing jarring in the way of 21st century things. You've both done a wonderful job and it feels that the cottage is smiling and happy again.
What a little beauty you have so respectfully restored back to its former glory. You have made the sweetest authentic little Welsh cottage full of personality and warms I adore it so much. You and Daisy are living my dream, you have done such a wonderful job giving life back to this sweet historic cottage, your such an inspiration to me. All my love and blessings Natasha 🌹
Beautiful - such an amazing job! I love all the books everywhere! We are book lovers too. We bought a stone cottage that was hand built in the 70s by an English Professor and his family. Like your home he was in his 90s when he died and the house had a very 1970s vibe. Our family thought we were crazy buying it but it was very inexpensive and had 16 acres of land. We gutted it - lots of plumbing and electrical had to be done too. We love how cozy it is with the stone fireplace and original wood paneling made from butternut trees cut down when they cleared to build the house. They hand picked every stone used to build it so even though it is not old like your it does have a story/history. Thanks for sharing - I'm sure you will inspire others. There is such satisfaction in doing the work yourself.
Your darling little cottage exudes a feeling of peace and sanctuary. You have done such an amazing job to make your wee home feel loved again. The outside looks so beautiful with the exposed natural stone. It really belongs in a fairytale or Brambly Hedge. Congratulations on a wonderful transformation and may you live many happy years in your cosy home.
What a lovely little cottage. For being a novice Your Heart inspired reclaiming is pure Magic. Amazing what we Women can accomplish. I wish you and yours many happy memories to make.
Bless you for inviting us all into your beautiful home. You have created a warm and inviting space that whispers of simpler times and shuts out the noise of the modern world. As a book worm myself with far too many books to squeeze into my small space, I love that you have books everywhere too. The changes that you have made are inspiring and are testament to your determination to create your own sacred space - one that feeds both of your souls. I would love to see a tour of your garden and greenhouse on here at some point. Blessed be lovely ladies. Wishing you both a magical day. Xxx
Thanks so much friend, what a lovely comment. There is always room for 1 more book! We have done afew garden videos but not a full tour which we will probably do late Spring. Blessings xx
What a beautiful job you did in renovating the Cottage. It is admirable how much you did with so few resources. You gave the Cottage its real character back.
You've both created such a beautiful home, full of warmth and texture. It feels so calming now, although it's clear that it took a heck of a lot of hard work to get to this point!
What a tired and very sad little cottage it was and now after all that hard work it's so lovely. Very cosy, welcoming and inviting, well done. Thank you for the tour. Sian from Wrexham 😊
Dear Annie and Daisy, you have created an absolutely heavenly home, I am delighted, enchanted and can only sigh with delight. A magical, wonderful, cozy home, thank you for inviting me to this wonder. Blessings to you from my heart 💚
You are to be commended you have made it a beautiful comfortable home . All the money in the world doesn’t make you happy . I got divorced only had a small amount of money but bought a small place but had a big garden and made it my own over 12 years ,it’s my happy place .
Your cottage is beautiful well done it's so cosy. The only thing that doesn't gel is the 1930 cabinet in the kitchen. Thank you Annie and Daisy. You have worked so hard ♥️
Thanks so much. Yes we completely agree about the cabinet. I have been looking for years for something more in keeping but it is such a narrow space that everything we find is too wide but we continue to look. We can't have nothing there as it is where we store most of our food, plates and cat litter x
Can I suggest a plate rack at the end of your draining board. You can retain the shelf above it for storing your jars and hooks on the underside for your mugs. It’ll look In keeping and free up some cupboard space. Beautiful cottage. Well done.
You have the most beautiful cottage! I'm new to your channel and currently binge watching your previous videos. Thank you for sharing. Your home is just stunning.
You have created a beautiful cosy home, revealing all that character and increased the value. Hard work really does pay off. I have to say, your cottage is in a stunning location. Well done both of you.
What a lovely comment, thanks so much! I haven't had it valued but have been led to believe it is worth considerably more than I paid for it. I think it generally pays to be brave, work hard and take a chance in life. x
It looks amazing! Not only have you renovated and preserved the original features you've also made it such a cosy and inviting home space. You've given me some confidence too about removing external rendering. I live in an 18th century cottage in Cornwall and half of the house is rendered. I manage the intermittent damp with fires, heating and ventilation, but it would be so much nicer not to have to and to also have the original stone showing, like it is at the front. I love your home and think you've done a really good job throughout.
What a wonderful job you have done! So much character and a home which is so loved and lived-in! There is no doubt that exposing the natural stone helps the walls breathe! Like you we bought a 150 year old (single storey) crofthouse cottage with 3ft thick stone walls over 30 years ago. We did most of the renovation work ourselves for about ten years, then we were able to afford to have the roof replaced with some new trusses and slates. The old stone walls were capped to prevent mice getting into the house, because the walls are built directly on the ground! We left one main stone gable exposed on the inside and employed a contractor to insulate and reline the other walls, but we have kept the final decoration relatively simple. No fitted kitchen units, a combination of some old traditional furniture with some simple modern pieces... and a huge collection of books... every room has its own library!
Thanks so much. Wow, your home sounds amazing. I need to re point the outside of the cottage at some point but as the bits of stone are so small it will take many months x
I love your home you've both done beautiful work well done to you both and thankyou for sharing, I enjoyed seeing your lovely Home !!! Blessings to you All 🙂
This is the most cozy gorgeous spectacular cottage! I adore it! You have done an amazing job! I watch your previous tour over and over because there is so much to see. I’m so pleased you did another one that has included all your spaces! I would die happy in your lovely cottage!!! ❤❤❤❤
Sweet Annie and Daisy, You’ve moved mountains!! A beautiful and cosy home you’ve created. I love, from your bedrooms, you can see the stone bridge and river. Wishing you many happy years in your cottage. Sending love. Anita xx
Amazing cottage. You should be so proud of yourselves. It's incredibly cosy and it's always lovely to see Brian and Moonbeam Nice to know that someone else's home is held up by books also 😊
Ah thanks so much friend. It is so lovely that you always mention my darling boys. As I am writing to you Brian is sat on my knee and Moonbeam is snuggled up next to me x
What a fantastic job you have done. You should be so proud of yourselves. I love that you did it yourself. I have always believed in doing it yourself, to save money and for the satisfaction. I love all the books, you must have as many as we do ! 😂 I was looking at the titles and wondering if Daisy is studying English Lit or perhaps Botany? Thanks for showing us around xx
Thanks so much Terri, it was a slog but definitely worth it. Books and plants are our weakness! Daisy is studying biology at Oxford specialising in fungi but also very keen on botany xx
I love what you have done to your cottage. It looks so snuggley in your sitting room, with exposed walls, and your lovely log burner, and two cats by the fire. I love your kitchen, with your beautiful Belfast sink - I would always have one of those if I could - and your lovely range cooker that you fitted into that exposed chimney breast is just stunning. I love the sympathetic way you have restored your bedroom and the bathroom. Thank goodness you and your daughter bought this cottage, as you have given it the love it deserved, and brought it back to life. I too have many books, and live alone with my rescue greyhound Madge, in a converted cart barn, that used to be one of 5 holiday cottages in West Devon, England. The cottages were sold off in 2016, and all have full residential use. We have no passing traffic, and cars are parked up st the top of the private lane that belongs to my neighbor, which we 5 have right of way over. The other 4 converted cart barns joined to me are second homes, so I get to meet different folk coming and going, which I love. I only go out of my home to walk Madge, and put the rubbish and recycle at the end of our lane, as I suffer sever anxiety. I sold my car, as I could not go out in it, and then could not afford to keep it, so have to get everything delivered. But this is the way I love to live. Thank you for showing us your lovely little cottage. Blessings to you from Jilly & Madge. xxx
Thanks so much! Your place sounds idyllic. The one downside to our cottage is we live on the coast road so it is always busy. Sending you and Madge blessings from Wales Jilly xx
Really beautiful, love the exposed stones, so much character. We too live in Wales. Carmarthenshire Thanks for the interesting videos. I have just joined your channel .
Wow, wow, wow. I have just come across your channel. I absolutely love your cottage and all the work you and Daisy have done to it. Big congratulations from me. All I can say is power to single women. I am single, too, done similar all by myself with what was also a jungle of a big garden. Now, 20 years later. I would never sell this property. I'm having a lot of feet up now, just marvelling at what I have achieved single handedly. I wish you 3 all the best wishes life can give you. I will be following your channel because I love women like you. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
We are so happy you found us-welcome! Thanks so much. When you put your heart and sweat into bringing something back to life it is difficult to imagine leaving it isn't it. x
What a pair of strong, courageous and incredible women you are Annie & Daisy!! I too know the challenges you must have faced, having taken 10 years to renovate an ancient Presbytere in France that had no electricity, floors and very damaged roof. Soo, I have incredible respect for what you have achieved and feel really proud for you 😊❤
Beautiful place, very well done on all your work. I was in a similar position to you and purchased a grade II listed 1750s iron workers cottage in Wales, it has been a labour of love but well worth the effort.
You have definitely improved both inside and out! We moved from a large detached house in Bontddu to a small semi in Dolgellau which was the character's residence attached to an 1800 boarding school for eight boys! Latterly an elderly lady had lived here before a couple had it as a holiday home....and done very little to it! Your inherited carpet looked very familiar!!! We have been in Wales for twenty five years..three and a half here!
That is very kind of you to say so Tony, thank you. Your place sounds very interesting. Daisy and I were both born and bred in N.Wales so we may be biased, but it is a wonderful place to live isn't it
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Good for you! It was a very good idea to strip the cottage. So much work, but what a result! You made yourself a real home. Thank for showing it to us. Greetings from Norway, Anna.
Wow, what a fantastic job you have done with your rustic cottage. As for the outside OMG heaps better than what it was with that horrible render on it. I love that you stayed true to the age of the cottage and its authenticity with what you did to it and how you stripped it back and also with your decor. Thank you so much for showing us through your amazing hobbit home.❤BTW I have my alerts on so I am getting alerted to when you upload a new clip but I don’t get alerted to is when you reply to my comment. I’m not sure why because I‘ve selected ‘all’ on alerts. I have to go back to the video to read your reply so that I can like what you’ve said 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks so much friend. The alerts thing is very odd as some people say they don't get told about new videos and I don't get notified if someone has responded to a comment I have made x
Thank you so much. I do find the cottage particularly cosy and magical in the Autumn and Winter when it is cold outside but the fire and candles are glowing inside and I'm sitting drinking tea and reading a book x
Wow! I love your cottage 🥰 We have a small terrace house in Surrey in great need of a bit of tlc. You've done so well on a small budget. How inspiring ❤
Thanks so much. It is amazing what you can do on a small budget, particularly if you are prepared to be patient and renovate when funds etc become available. Good luck with your home x
You have both done an amazing job restoring your beautiful home. I should have bought a home after my divorce but I rented and am now retired, living in rented accommodation which takes a huge amount of my pensions. Lessons learned but too late! Wishing you every happiness in your magickal cottage full of love for the future. Love your videos, please keep making them Annie and Daisy xx
Thank you so much Helen. I nearly didn't buy it as it needed so much work and my Dad told me it was a bad idea but I'm glad I took the risk. Blessings to you friend xx
Charm and coziness in abundance! I've so enjoyed this visit, and share much of your 'do it yourself' home journey, as well. As you pondered the exterior work, I think all of your decisions were spot on. The texture and colour of the stone is exquisite. May I add, the view, with otters is pure magic!❤😊 All kind thoughts, Liz in Essex, Connecticut🎉
Thanks so much! I have always been a dreamy, imaginative person which I think does help me to visualise how things could be rather just what they look like now x
Thank you for sharing your darling cozy cottage. I’m marveling at all the work you did and it certainly is a vast improvement. I think the cottage is happy once again because you both have given it so much love ❤️
So lovely and in a beautiful location, your hard work and determination has well and truly paid off, thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. ❤❤
What an amazing job you've done on your house, I love it. I live in a small terraced house built in 1920. The previous owner put back in a cast iron fire place which had previously been bricked up. I love original features like that, and sometimes think I may have lived in Georgian, victorian times in a previous life😃 I'm not a modern person at all, historical stuff all the way for me🙂
Thank you. I really do think that is the case for our cottage that was built for servants to live in. Far more in keeping to have mainly functional items with a few natural finds as decoration x
Such an amazing job and I like the stone its a shame the previous owners covered that up, I have heard that covering up brick and stone is a very bad idea and its because it needs to breath so knowing that I think is good knowledge to have. I think you did such a beautiful job on your tiny home.
I grew up in a part cob cottage in Devon in the sixties and seventies. My parents fell victim to the awful decor of the time, the full horror, lime green sofa, purple carpet, orange ziz zag curtains, cracked ice polystyrene ceiling tiles (orange!) Everything was boxed in and covered in either gold edged plastic or fablon, really terrible. The cottage has apparently been put back to a more historical decor thankfully. The sixties and seventies have a lot to answer to. Your place is beautifuly done, lovely ambience for living.
They really were the decades that taste forgot weren't they! As long as the chimney breasts etc haven't been removed then there is the ability to bring them back to their old glory. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment x
Such a lovely cottage it beautiful surroundings it must have been such hard slog getting it all done you have done such a great job. I am picking up on here is a feel of a stillness there like the cottage is waiting poised waiting for secrets and stories to be told I wonder if you have tried to find out more of the history of who has lived here before you said there was an elderly Lady there before you I wonder if anyone had lived at the cottage before her who had built it etc hope you could share this with us if you do 🤗
It was built by the Marquess of Londonderry in the 1700s to house his servants as far as we know. The estate then sold it in the 1920s to a local man who then sold it to the old lady and her husband in the late fifties. The old lady died in the living room. It does have an incredibly magical feel to it. Thanks so much x
Thank you so much for taking us into your wonderful cottage. Less is more!! Very inspiring with all the work you did yourself! I have two small children and thing EVERYWHERE 😂 so I envy the calmness of your cottage. I have many books as well, but have just handed in a big bag at the local second hand shop. Do you keep all your books or what do you do ?
Thanks so much! 😊I remember that stage with Daisy. I had lots of pretty wicker baskets that I could chuck all her stuff in at the end of the day. We try and have a 1 in 1 out policy re books but I got rid of two thirds of my books before we moved here and try and be ruthless x
Beautiful! Well done 👏 I'm in the process of buying a tiny cottage and will be doing a lot of the DIY myself too. It would be really helpful to get advice from a novice how to strip the stairway and remove the cement off the walls inside. Did you just get a joiner to build the wardrobe? I'd like similar on a budget.
I used a heat gun and wallpaper scraper for the stairs and a lump hammer and chisel for the walls. I saved up and after several years paid for a joiner to make the wardrobe. Best of luck! x
I’ve just found your channel. Wow you have done an amazing job it’s absolutely lovely. It looks so much happier with the rendering off the front. It has a little bit of Harry Potter magic about it with those books . Could I ask if you don’t mind how much the cottage cost before you renovated it ? I have a friend who would love todo this kind of renovation and has been living in a caravan for six years. This would give her some hope that she could turn her life around and do what you have done. Thank you so much.
@ my friend lives in a Cornwall. Anything in Cornwall is pricy as second home owners buy everything up. I’ve tried suggesting she find a cheaper area maybe parts of Wales or Scotland that seem more affordable. She is like you and would be able to do lots of the work herself. She’s Always been good for knocking down walls and I’m sure replastering and refurbishing old furniture. The problem is after sleeping on a. Arrow caravan bed in cold damp conditions her health is failing ie bad knees , bad back at only 56yrs old. She wouldn’t be able to get a mortgage and like you explained doesn’t want to rent in case the landlord suddenly wants the property back.
I recall renovating in the eighties. It’s hard work but worth it. I was heavily pregnant with my second daughter. The midwife was horrified. We had electric, cold water and a portaloo. What her problem was I don’t know. Your home is beautiful. I hate these modern grey houses with a huge tv on the wall.
I also did a renovation on a tudor farmhouse when pregnant with Daisy which is where she was born. The day before I gave birth I was up a ladder painting the outside of the house! I am not a fan of modern houses either.Thank you so much x
@ You look after you. If I ever get from North Yorkshire to Wales, I will take you for a meal. I’m happy to sleep on the floor in front of the stove. I often do to cuddle my heat sealing spaniels.

Ah I love your cottage. You both did an amazing job on it. 💫
That is so kind of you to say, thank you x
Thank you so much Sylvia, what a lovely comment. Blessings from Wales x
Really beautiful, love the exposed stones, so much character.
We too live in Wales. Carmarthenshire
Thanks for the interesting videos.
I have just joined your channel .
Diolch yn fawr a croeso! x
What an absolutely beautiful home and a credit to you! Stunning
Such a lovely thing to say. Thanks so much x
You have done a BEAUTIFUL job!! Gorgeous!!!
Ah thanks so much. Not to everyones taste but we love it x
When you put your heart and sweat into bringing something back to life it is difficult to imagine leaving it isn't it. x
The work you did on the cottage was incredible! Transmits love and magic. 💞 We can feel how cozy it is.
Wow, we are so thrilled you feel that! Thanks so much x
What a pair of strong, courageous and incredible women you are Annie & Daisy!!
I too know the challenges you must have faced, having taken 10 years to renovate an ancient Presbytere in France that had no electricity, floors and very damaged roof. Soo, I have incredible respect for what you have achieved and feel really proud for you 😊❤
Wow Wendy, it sounds like you are a force to be reckoned with also-well done! Thanks so much x
Beautiful place, very well done on all your work. I was in a similar position to you and purchased a grade II listed 1750s iron workers cottage in Wales, it has been a labour of love but well worth the effort.
Thanks so much. It is so satisfying when you buy an old house that has been neglected and breathe life and character back into it isn't it x
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 It really is.
Daisy and I were both born and bred in N.Wales so we may be biased, but it is a wonderful place to live isn't it
It’s as though you have stepped back in time its beautiful
That is definitely the effect we were going for. Thank you x
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Good for you! It was a very good idea to strip the cottage. So much work, but what a result! You made yourself a real home. Thank for showing it to us. Greetings from Norway, Anna.
Thanks so much Anna. It was hard work but it has given me the look I had always wanted. Blessings from Wales x
You both have doen amazing work on this cottage beautiful ❤
Thank you so much Linda x
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 yeh very annoying hey. The upside is I watch the clip again 😉
So lovely to see how your hard work has worked out to make such a characterful and cosy space. What you did with the small space is inspirational.
That is such a lovely thing to say. Thank you so much x
Beautifully done would love to live there myself .Look forward to more videos thankyou
Ah thanks so much. It is not to everyone's taste and is very tiny but we love it x
Fantastic. I am very impressed by the work you have done. Xxx
That is so sweet of you, thank you x
Beautiful cottage 😍 spending Christmas here must be so pleasant and magical. Especially when it snows.
Such a beautiful home. Great job!
Thank you so much! x
Stunning, I love everything you’ve done!
That is so kind of you, thanks so much x
Very warm and cozy!
Thanks so much x
It’s an absolute dream. Magical. Thank you for sharing your very special home ❤
We are so thrilled you think so, it does have a really magical atmosphere in the cottage and on the land. Many thanks lovelie x
Your home is beautiful, you have worked so hard 😊🎉.
That is so lovely of you to say so, thank you x
I am absolutely amazed at what you’ve done,it’s beautiful! You made the right choice on the outside, would like to see the garden! 🥰🇨🇦
Thank you so much! We do have afew videos of some of the garden x
Love your home, you have done a wonderful job ❤
Thanks so much and for taking the time to comment x
Lovely. Well done. So much character and so peaceful ❤
We are so thrilled you think so, thanks so much x
You made your home so beautiful!! Thank you for sharing your home with us. You did a magnificent job, it is so awesome!!!
How lovely of you to say so. Thanks so much for watching and commenting x
Thanks so much Liz! The otters are definitely one of my favourite things about living here x
It’s absolutely stunning! The vision you must have had to see how wonderful it could be. Love it 😊
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much friend. It is funny you said that because it does feel like the cottage is much happier now x
Best video ever. We did exactly the same as you while still living in our Welsh stone cottage which is only 4 miles away.
Diolch Julia. It is a slog isn't it but definitely worth it x
Amazing cottage! New to your channel. Subbed and can’t wait to watch more :)
We are so thrilled you found your way to our cottage! Thanks so much for watching, subbing and commenting-it means so much to us x
😊looking forward to your Christmas video 😊 thank you.
Thanks so much. It won't be for awhile as Daisy doesn't get back from university until December 8th but I can't wait! x
I'm impressed you did so much of the work yourself. Well done! The stone on the outside walls is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you very much! It was very hard work on my own but I'm so pleased I did it now x
Well done you two! 🔆
Ah thank you so much x
So lovely and in a beautiful location, your hard work and determination has well and truly paid off, thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. ❤❤
Thanks so much for joining us here and leaving a lovely comment x
The cottage is gorgeous inside and outside. You have done an amazing job with the restoration.
What a lovely thing to say, thank you x
Oh my goodness! What amazing vision and work you’ve done. Well done! Every room is so cozy.🐇♥️
We are so happy you think so, thanks so much x
I like the way you have kept the cottage with Welsh aspects. A Welsh dresser and a Welsh tapestry blanket on the bed.
Diolch Nerys. The grandfather clock, the candle box and the chairs by the fire are Welsh also x
Wow, you did an amazing job. I just love what you've done, especially exposing the stone. Good luck to you.
Thank you so much. Halfway through I regretted doing it as it was so hard and messy but I'm so pleased I did it now x
Your home is beautiful!!✨
Thanks so much! x
Cozy, beautiful, period home
Thank you so much! x
What an amazing job you've done on your house, I love it. I live in a small terraced house built in 1920. The previous owner put back in a cast iron fire place which had previously been bricked up. I love original features like that, and sometimes think I may have lived in Georgian, victorian times in a previous life😃 I'm not a modern person at all, historical stuff all the way for me🙂
Oh Carol I'm exactly the same. To me Modern is a dirty word! I definitely feel I lived in another time also x
You have created a beautiful and cosy home - well done x
Thanks so much lovelie x
Beautiful home.
Thanks so much x
Fabulous!
You've done an amazing job.
Many many thanks x
Fabulous 😍 less is definitely more
Thank you so much. Yes afew things were done to the cottage that we now know are not a good idea x
Beautiful, giving me some inspiration for our farmhouse 😊
Thanks so much. Good luck with your renovation x
Absolutely beautiful ❤
That's so kind of you, thank you x
@cerridwencottagediary9194 you are very welcome 😊 xxx
Lovely
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 Thanks for sharing very interesting x
Lovely.
Thank you x
Best of luck! x
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 thank you so much! This is such a helpful reminder to take the pressure off getting it all done immediately. x
So pretty.
Thank you so much x
Lovely 😊
Ah thanks so much x
I’ve just found your channel. Wow you have done an amazing job it’s absolutely lovely. It looks so much happier with the rendering off the front. It has a little bit of Harry Potter magic about it with those books . Could I ask if you don’t mind how much the cottage cost before you renovated it ? I have a friend who would love todo this kind of renovation and has been living in a caravan for six years. This would give her some hope that she could turn her life around and do what you have done. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for commenting, we are so glad you found us. I paid £60k for it but that was coming up to 8 years ago. Where does she live? x
That is so sweet of you, thank you x
