  • In this video I look at the Ford Performance oil collectors / catch cans I have installed to see if its worth installing both sides and if they actually work.

Hi Patrick, if you buy a Mach 1 they come fitted with oil cooler, trans cooler and diff cooler as standard. The catch can is a must be in my opinion and as Ford Performance offer them as upgrades they are easy to install. 😉

Same for me, the driver side is dry, but if you track the car, the passenger side will acquire more oil vapors with the high RPM’s.

Just fitted the pair of catch cans to my 21 Mach 1. You do interesting videos, keep it up. By the way, do you think you could give us a little more info on the baffle you made for the fog light hole to direct the air into the air filter inlet.

Hi Peter, thanks for watching. Regards the funnel for the air inlet ford had already closed it in behind the grille. I took out the cover and discovered that the side was open next to the radiator. I wanted to create a funnel as no aftermarket company offers one for the M1. I used some strong flexible black plastic to form the two sides of the funnel. I started with a larger section and just kept cutting small pieces off until it fitted. It did take some time, probably 3 hours for both sides. I drilled some small holes and used push pins to hold the panels in place. When finished I had made a proper funnel that in conjunction with the air box cover gives me true ram air from the front of the car. When fabricating these panels I just had to keep taking them out, making cuts, then installing them again over and over until they were perfect and look like factory installation. I Hope that helps? 👍🏼

@icemach1964 never thought their would be so much oil in there😮, first thing I will install on my mustang! Have you ever had issues with your oil cooler? There are a lot RUclips movies where they advised to install one, did you ever experience problems with your oil temperature, especially with the hot temperatures in Spain?

Thanks for the info. I only have a CatchCan on the passenger side. Now I know that I can save the one on the driver's side. Thanks!
Here's another video of me on the trip. in Germany in Bavaria.

Hi, I decided to fit the drivers side as I was not sure if I needed it. I would still fit one on the driver's side dispite there being no oil in it at the time I checked it as I want to be 100% sure no oil will get into the intake manifold and valves in the future. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
