This December I am finally conquering Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. I've had it for years and years- but I'm so glad I've finally started it because it's so good! Good luck with your December TBR! ❄️🌨☃️
omg you own a winter’s promise! it’s so atmospheric and the worldbuilding is sooo good. the end of book two will have you gobsmacked - so much of the backstory from book 1 comes to light & the stakes get impossibly high 😭♥️
You asked why Calcifer barks when you sneeze? Cats don't like loud, unexpected noises. He doesn't know that it was accidental, so he's telling you off for perturbing him.
Hey! If you're into The Nutcracker, you might enjoy the anime Princess Tutu! It's a mix of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and a bunch of other ballet. The main villain is Drosselmeyer, whose writing affects the real world, and the main character is a duck that he turns into a white swan ballerina. The main love interest is a prince without a heart. Then there's a knight and a black swan as well. The entire soundtrack is from ballet, too. It's only 26 episodes. The first episode or two are super dorky, but it's actually literally one of the best anime I've ever seen. The animation is great, you'll fall in love with every character whether you want to or not, every episode moves the plot forward, the music is of course lovely, and it's educational because you learn about a bunch of famous ballet! It's one of my very favorites.
This winter I will finish reading Frankenstein (the 1818 text) and I might also read A Christmas Carol for the first time. Along with some comic books and manga (highly recommend "Snow White With the Red Hair" btw) ❤
I wait all year for your winter videos and am never disappointed!! I hope you’re feeling better! I picked up A Castle in the Clouds this month and am really enjoying it so far ❄️❤️
Good luck with all of those Christmas books. I'm having my lightest reading month of the year - The Hobbit and A Christmas Carol. Maybe Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier if I don't save it for the new year.

For me it´s Dickens.... A tale of Two Cities! And The book of living secrets, for my first Christmas as a free of uni woman! I hope you are feeling better
I've never read Andersen's Snow Queen but me and my siblings used to watch these animated children's versions of Andersen's Fairy Tales (btw did anybody else see those or was my childhood just weird?) and there was a long one of the Snow Queen and it was one of my favourites. Andersen is just the best. Also Calcifer was saying "bless you".
Yes! I remember watching the snow queen with my brother and I was literally just wondering if anyone else had watched it too because it seemed a bit niche

My best friend just got me two books for my birthday: a Christmas story collection by Agatha Christie and a beautiful edition of Anne of Green Gables. She knows how much I love you and your videos and always get inspired by you, so she watched a few of your videos to decide on the books she got for me 🥺❤️❤️ I am currently reading great expectations (inspired by you of course) and I’m in the middle of the audiobook of Jenny colgans Christmas at the bookstore. I’m gonna read one of the Agatha Christie stories now and also been thinking of rereading “Wolkenschloss” by Kerstin Gier (the beautiful German edition) which I got last year for my birthday and read during this time last year (because you recommended it) and loved it so so much!
This winter I’m planning on reading The Dragon Republic- I read The Poppy War last month and I must consume this as quickly as I can. I never usually binge series, but this one is a must. These Violent Delights- I just need to finish it at this point. It’s taken me so embarrassingly long to finish. It might become a tradition where I read it every December, purely bc my cousin gave it to me and it was really sentimental for us.
I'm currently re-reading "The Catcher in the Rye", just to get the wintery feels ❄ And then I'm second in line to rent "A Christmas Carol" at my local library🎄
I love your videos for the mood and atmosphere - you are my favorite for that. The YA and fantasy are not my thing but you inspire my reading life anyway.
I have 4 library cards not counting my university libraries hehe But my favorite library card I’ve ever owned was to the Bodleian in Oxford. Hope you’re feeling better soon! I just got over a weird 24 hour cold I managed to kick by sleeping half the day.
It's Tuesday afternoon. I woke up with a sore throat this morning and it's all been a downward spiral since then. Making tea, I figure I might see what you have been up to because you are now linked to the coziness of tea. I ended my semester on Saturday and I think I will be due for a winter booklist. I had started Avalanche Hotel and unfortunately, I hate it. I'll have to go and glance at the shelves, hoping to find something worthy of December. Hope you feel better

I'm hopeless because I currently have 19 library books I have to read, plus numerous Kindle books on the go and some audiobooks as well. So hopeless I have had to list what I've got on the go so I know what to go back to! On top of that I have downloaded a heap of Christmas ebooks like Jeanette Winterson's book and others. All I'm going to be doing the rest of the year and new year is reading and trying to get through all of these. I started listening to my copy of Jane Austen's Sense and sensibility and it's so good, I'm going to get back to it soon.

I only have two books for this month: A Castle In the Clouds (had it for a while but waiting for this time per your recommendation) and Anna Karenina (ashamed to say this is my 3rd or 4th time tackling it, the last time I read about 400 pages, but I'm feeling inspired this time). Happy reading, hope you're feeling better!🧡🙌

Hi Emma, So sorry you're sick. Hope you and your partner feel better soon. I can never read when I'm ill, I can't concentrate, I just want to sleep. Take care. Cindy
If you can find room in your reading month for The Snow Child, I HIGHLY recommend it. It is one of my favorite books of all time. It is beautifully written and has a whole section surrounding Christmas. If you can't get to it until January or February, that's totally fair but this is just a small push to definitely get to it as soon as possible. It's so good!
I love Bookman so much. I pay to avoid ads so I really appreciate the entertaining sponsor promotions. I’m reading a good bit of YA fantasy as the moment and all the short reads I can find. 😂 My life was upended this year on several levels so I’m 30/50 for my goodreads goal. 😢 My cat responds the same way to sneezes. I always apologize. Haha Hope you guys are feeling better.
I read the Dollmaker of Krakow last month and it's not a winter book, it takes place throughout the whole WW2 and there are not very many winter or christmas scenes in it.. that being said, it is largely about toys and dolls and stuff, so it doesnt go entirely against the Christmas theme either. It's a quick read and I'm sure you'll enjoy it :)
This christmas, I will be reading A Christmas Carol. It's my first ever Dickens and I'm so excited! 🤩 Loved this casual video, put a smile on my face as always. ❤ Oh and by the way, A Winters Promise is absolutely perfect for this year, I'm currently reading the second book and it's amazing.
Hope you feel better soon and get to enjoy the run up to Christmas. I was going out to the post office, and then I saw you uploaded a video and I was like "Oh no, couldn't you have waited til I got back in"... of course I had to watch it, and now I must go out 😍 Happy Winter reading Emma. 📚
Oh my gosh! I just saw the book I sent you on your shelf!! I can’t even tell you how happy that made me. I wasn’t sure it would make it to your new place when you moved. 🥰🥰
i'm currently on the fifth book of the wheel of time series which is fires of heaven and i've just been obsessed with this series since september or october i'm not sure so i've just kept going. It's not wintery exactly but i love reading fantasy in the winter which has been great so far (so far i feel like i won't like the fifth book as much as the third and fourth but it's still good). Also I just finished The Bloody Chamber which i LOVED so much so thanks for the recommendation and some of the stories especially the ones about wolves had a great vibe for winter (my favourites were the beast and the erl-king) 🥀 and i hope you're feeling better by now✨
Hi Emmie! Feel it might be time for you to pick up Murakami's Hard-boiled wonderland, since you were already planning it and it is surprisingly wintery and snowy. It's my personal favorite of his bc it's so wonderfully weird.
finishing up crooked kingdom this month, i might start shadow and bone next but I'm not sure. currently listening to build your house around my body and it is wild.
My cat always says "Bless you!" when I sneeze. Very polite boy. :3
I swear you're the only youtuber where I look forward to the sponsor ads
Bet you are happy winter is just around the corner! ❄️ Your fave reading month! LOL “Bookman”😂

I pray you and your partner feel better soon.
happy to announce we have similar mugs
Get well soon. At the moment reading 'Enemy at the Gates' by William Craig. (It's kinda wintery).
I read A castle in the clouds earlier this year because of you and loved it!!!
ohmygoodness, the book sniff! I'm with you on that joy
hope you feel better soon!! also, PLEASE read babel! one of my favourite reads of the year. i'd love to hear your thoughts :)
Hope you feel better soon and get to enjoy the run up to Christmas.
I was going out to the post office, and then I saw you uploaded a video and I was like "Oh no, couldn't you have waited til I got back in"... of course I had to watch it, and now I must go out 😍
Happy Winter reading Emma. 📚
I’m so excited to finally read the enchanted sonata on my kindle -I have such high hopes for this book ❤
Oh my gosh! I just saw the book I sent you on your shelf!! I can’t even tell you how happy that made me. I wasn’t sure it would make it to your new place when you moved. 🥰🥰
Hope you're feel better. I'm reading The Lord of The Rings this season, just a bit too early to start my Christmas books
i'm currently on the fifth book of the wheel of time series which is fires of heaven and i've just been obsessed with this series since september or october i'm not sure so i've just kept going. It's not wintery exactly but i love reading fantasy in the winter which has been great so far (so far i feel like i won't like the fifth book as much as the third and fourth but it's still good). Also I just finished The Bloody Chamber which i LOVED so much so thanks for the recommendation and some of the stories especially the ones about wolves had a great vibe for winter (my favourites were the beast and the erl-king) 🥀 and i hope you're feeling better by now✨
any time the infamous tea jar comes out in an emmie video you know it's about to get COZY
Hope you'll get better! I'm curently reading Dracula and once I finish that I will read some Machado de Assis 😉🇧🇷
I also picked The Circus Train. 🥰 And I would have gotten Babel if I did not already read it. Hoping to get to Babel this month or in January.
Midnight in Everwood is on my TBR for December! I didn't get around to it last year so I absolutely want to get to it this year!
Emmie! 😭 you make the others seasons jeealoous! X'o, lov u ❤☺️😅
Hope you feel better soon❤✨
