Hi Cheryl~ oh my oh my~ how absolutely totally and utterly delicious~ I haven’t even watched the video/vlog yet ~ my slow cooker is definitely coming out the cupboard for this one~ I hope your ok and managing to stay safe~ I’m doing ok I’m in the middle of a flare up of my multiple sclerosis and lupus~ but I’m trying to stay positive~ Sending love and hugs~ Xxx Xxx
Thank you for sharing this recipe, I LOVE the slow cooker shortcut. I've never seen that method before. Can't wait to try it...but I think I will add malt powder and crushed Maltese 😁💖
Oh, Cheryl, I'm going to have to give this one a go, too. My wife and I both love the chocolate oranges. I like the idea of the slow cooker. We use ours for so many things, including those recopies that you've demonstrated in the past. Cheers!
I've never made fudge in a slow cooker; your recipe sounds lovely. In 1967, my mother found a fudge recipe in a magazine and it turned out to make the most wonderful and simple fudge. Nearly every Christmas since, that fudge recipe has been used again and again. It never fails, and it's often what I give for gifts to those who do not make fudge because that fudge is what spells Christmas for me.
@@starrya5647 Glad to share. This recipe will take about 15 minutes prep time, and there is no "testing" required but you will need to be able to time 5 minutes. This really is super-easy; I've made it literally hundreds of times without a single failure. The original recipe was an advertisement for several "brand name" ingredients and it was called Festive Fudge.
In a 2 quart sauce pan, add 2 cups sugar, 2/3 cup evaporated milk, 14 regular-size marshmallows, 1/2 cup butter, and a few grains of salt. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a full boil (the top of the mixture will all be bubbling). Boil and stir for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips until completely melted. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and stir. Add 1 cup of chopped nuts, if desired. Spread into a buttered 9 x 9 pan. Cool before slicing into pieces. Important things to note: This calls for Evaporated milk; condensed milk will NOT work. Don't forget that little bit of salt; it makes a difference. Start timing only when the mixture reaches a full boil. The fudge does not need to be refrigerated to cool and harden; simply leave it on a cooling rack on the counter for awhile. The original recipe calls for Nestle's chocolate chips. I have used other brands and that works just fine, although I'd warn that some cheap choc chips don't melt as well--if that happens and it's not easy to incorporate, I just use my electric hand mixer to speed things along. I've also made this fudge with butterscotch chips or chopped-up almond bark; it's very versatile. Enjoy!
i am always trying to make fudge with condensed milk and have failed. now i can do it!!!!! this is a great recipe for the holidays i imagine! i had an auntie who always made us peanut butter fudge and i have longed to have that again!!! cheers!
This sounds wonderful and so easy. This might be my go to this holiday season instead of the recipe my mother always made. Mom's wasn't/isn't difficult and it makes a huge pan full but it is a bit expensive.
Hi, don't ask me how I ended up here lol, but sure am glad I did!! This fudge looks flippin' gorgeous. Have hit the subscribe button and even though it's nearly 11pm and I'm cozied up in bed...I'm going to take a look at some of your other recipes right now, and drive my taste buds mad😆 . Thanks x
One I did make in slow cooker also off Facebook. Baking queen 74 I think. The cake was chocolate mint aero bubble cake. This was awesome. Made with those mint aero bubbles. Came out like brownies.
THE FUDGE LOOKS LUCIOUS!!!! FUNNY THING IS THAT I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE ORANGES ABOUT HALF AN HOUR AGO :) I'M IN CALIFORNIA, USA & IT'S ONLY 6:40 AM HERE. BY THE WAY, I COULD LISTEN TO YOU TALK ALL DAY I JUST LOVE YOUR ACCENT
Omg Cheryl, I need this in my life lol. It looks so easy too. I think I'm going to try the mint aero version during vlogmas (I'll link your video of course 😊). Thanks for sharing x
Ohh looks sweet, but I will give it a go. I have never been disappointed in any of your recipes, so I feel pretty confident that this will be very good.
I made this the other day omg it is so easy (made I with a 5&3yrold) it is so nice 😋... The only difficulty was pouring into the tin had to get hubby to help ... Thanks for the recipe Cheryl 👍👍
My daughter loves the Terry's Chocolate Oranges, and despite being almost 30, she still gets one in her stocking every year. This would be a nice surprise for her...I'll probably top it with crushed Heath Bars though, as she's not a Crunchie fan. 😋😃
Oh my! Cheryl, this looks really delicious!😋 Never seen chocolate oranges here in the Netherlands. So I have to think of something else to get that flavour going. Time for a shopping trip to the chocolate isle at my grocery store. 😅 Definitely going to make this one for Christmas. Thanks for sharing!❤
Those Crunchie bars remind me of the 'sponge' candy my great aunt used to make years ago. I'll have to see if I can find them in the US. The fudge looks great too!
Having a friend over on Saturday.. that’s our evening sorted 😂 Just trying to think of different combinations as I’d like to make a few batches, especially for my new neighbours!! 🥰 Thanks Cheryl! You’re a star! Xx
Cheryl im a scouser living in Florida the nearest thing to a chrunchie would be a heath bar or a skor bar Earo bars would be Andes mints not the same but a good substitute.
Since making this I've had to fend off the family with various deadly weapons. I have now established a no go area around the fridge which I patrol constantly. Damn you woman, I used to have a life...😋
The local Lidl sell vanilla bubble bars of choc I bet they would taste amazing in fudge form I’m not a huge choc orange fan thanks for the recipe Cheryl possibilities are endless x 🥰
Cheryl, this looks scrumptious! I love chocolate covered orange jellies and I'm sure this orange fudge will be another favorite of mine! Thank you for sharing!! P.S. "Likes" aren't being recorded on RUclips channels. Not sure why.
Cheryle,( hope I spelt your name Correct I tried this recipe and for somebody who cant cook this tyrned out far far better than even me could imagine, Many thanks take care Bye.
Oh dear! I am a fudge addict but I have signed the pledge, I am just not safe in the same room, shop as a heap of the glorious stuff. I once ate a whole pound in one sitting!
This is exactly the recipe I have been looking for & thank you, question please, I have some double cream that needs to be used in the next couple of days, is it okay to substitute the condensed milk with the double cream? Wishing you a glorious Christmas & a happy, healthy 2024🥳🤗
Hiya Cheryl....Is your condensed milk from Lidl? If so, I have found it to be the best, by far, for making fudge...Way better than Carnation! The end product looks bloody delish, by the way 👍👍🤗🤗🤗😋😋😋
Clever to melt it in the slow cooker, looks divine, the crunchies on the top, pièce de résistance. Thanks Cheryl.
I made a fabulous orange fudge recipe made last year ... everyone loved it
Yummmy
I will try this closer to Christmas
Definetly will try. I love orange flavor chocolate and my family loves homemade fudge. Thanks for sharing.🍊❤️

So that's two fudge recipes to give a go 🙂 I'm sure there will be a lot of volunteers for tasting!😂

Thanks for sharing. Looks so delicious. You always bring us the possible. You are a dear!
My daughter loves chocolate orange anything!!!! As do I. As does my mom!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 thank you
This would make great Christmas gifts. If you used mint instead of the orange chocolate, decorate with crushed candy canes.
I'm thinking for mint , Kendall mint cake .
I did chuckle when I heard you say 'What's for tea' FUDGE! Love the idea of melting the chocolate in the crockpot. Great tip :)

The mint one sounds delicious.
wish i had a piece
i could see myself eating a whole tray of this in one go no problem !
The chocolate orange sounds great but it's the crumbled Chrunchies that sold it to me.👌
Ive just made this, its in the fridge setting, fingers crossed it will work,I have just bought a slow cooker after watching loads of your videos.x😊

Looks delicious, I think I would put the little mini chocolate orange slices that come in pouches on top instead of crunchie
I think I try this so easy
Terry’s also makes a mint flavoured “orange”. I think I would use that.
Oh I didn’t know!!! They would be lovely 😊
Raspberry....
Those are only available around Christmas time here. Yum.
Tap it, unwrap it....looks totally amazing ❤

Honestly....give it a go Laura! This is lovely :)
I would use violet crumble/honeycomb as it has a bit more structure
Omg🙂I am surprised 😸 this is so easy
Cheryl im a scouser living in Florida the nearest thing to a chrunchie would be a heath bar or a skor bar Earo bars would be Andes mints not the same but a good substitute.

I would love that. I bet crushed candy cane on top of chocolate fudge would be divine.
Hello Cheryl, long time listener, first time caller.
Just added the stuff to my online grocery shop, looking forward to trying it 😃
Ah brilliant! You won't be disappointed :)
Thank you so much,, looks delicious for sure going to try it, will bring for Xmas dessert, along with my Steak Pie 😘
Have to try this :)
If you do the mint one, pop in some broken buttons. Mint chocolate chip...yum.
I would try the crunchie mix in with the choc orange.
Since making this I've had to fend off the family with various deadly weapons. I have now established a no go area around the fridge which I patrol constantly. Damn you woman, I used to have a life...😋
