Looks like J just did a bunch of the missingno glitch, not GameShark. You can get mew in the original 3 games with the trainer fly glitch from a couple different places. The trainer fly glitch can give you random pokemon as well. Back in the day, glitches like this were all part of playing the game.
That could be the case! I just assumed GameShark because they had multiples of the legendary birds and a few Mewtwos as well. My friend used a GameShark back in the day and did something where it just filled his boxes with the full Pokédex. I agree though, glitches were almost like Easter eggs. Some of them were really cool. I can’t think of the specific name for it, but I remember one where it really messed up the map and you could walk to places you couldn’t before.

I've played on a cheated save file of Red before and the hall of fame stats were in the same condition
I think I’ve read somewhere that it always messes up the Hall of Fame if you use a Game Shark or anything like that. It makes it pretty creepy.
I buy a leaf green and the hall of fame save did not work
