    how long can it take to " flush the engine out " ?

    doing a recovery run has nothing to do with clearing out lactic acid or any of that junk. it's more about getting the most out of a hard workout (at most 24hrs after) and not doing enough work so your body has more things to repair. you're just doing the most efficient work you can, not recovering.

    Sometimes doing totally nothing is better than recovery run. But u guys didnt mention anything about it

    I'm sorry but Ryan over strides. He has a big back kick even when they showed him in a recovery run. I think that may be why his career was so short. Not enough easy recovery runs.

      Ryan Hall was not in the video. That guy's name was Josh.

      You are correct. I was watching Ryan Hall on another video for a marathon training session. It looked like he was running a 5K. I stand by me belief that he over strides for the longer races.
