I played with a 6'7" lefty that through 92-95 in high school. He turned down a full ride scholarship to Maryland to take care if his families farm... He was incredible to watch pitch! R.I.P. Brett!😢
How much you wanna bet he’ll be pitching 100 right now if he was pitched 90s in high school. That’s amazing but sad to see him turn it down. Also how accurate was be
I miss the MLB I grew up watching. Randy Johnson, Ichiro Suzuki, and Nomar Garciaparra. Players like Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and one of my all time favorites, Ken Griffey Jr.(when he played for the Reds). That’s just to name a very FEW of some of my old favorites to watch. There are just way too many to list from the 90’s and early 2000’s!
There might be . My son is 6'10" 16 year old lefty. Had 2 complete game no hitters in jv this will be his first year as a starter in varsity. He throws mid 80s so far
I met him in tucson az got his autograph i wanted him to sign s hundred dollar bill he was like no....not that so i quickly got paper ...then no cap went outside to see his whip it was a ford ranger dude is legend to me awesome dude
I’ll never forget being a young kid, Jim Thome was my idol. I can remember two years in a row Cleveland played at Seattle and Thome wasn’t in the lineup against Randy Johnson. That’s how intimidating he was. Even Jim Thome in his prime said “No thanks,” anytime Johnson was on the bump. Lol. 6’10”, the guy must felt like he was standing on top of you when he’d throw the baseball. Plus, the extension he had, he was probably releasing the ball at 52’, not 60’.6”. So 98 was probably like 105.
I don't want to think my favorite pitcher as a kid Ramdy Johnson was on anything or that Nolan Ryan was on something but to perform like that at 40 plus. Randy it took awhile for him to become dominant after he was 25 but they say it's due to his height and landing on his heel instead of the pad of his foot.. idk but Randy was was awesome and he'll go down as the last 300 game winner ever.
@@Ravensflock68 Yeah not as sharp this year but time will tell. If I am wrong, it won't be that surprising. But if I'm right, I'll be flocking back to this comment like a raven.
Doubtful. Funny thing is that Ryan has more minor league strikeouts than Johnson does. Johnson had 428 strikeouts in 4 years whereas Ryan had 457 in 2 years.
@Frank Bandera i dont think its doubtful Ryan debut at 19 years old amd randy debut at 25 years old and he was only 839 atrikeouts away from tying Ryan's record and in a 6 season difference Randy only would have needed to average 139 or 140 strikeouts in that time period which i think would have made it possible
@@totalmage56 Randy became a regular started in Seattle in 1990 at 26 and had 20 solid seasons as a starter whereas Ryan became a regular starter in California in 1972 at 25 and had 22 solid seasons as a starter. Even when you take Ryan's 5 seasons with the Mets away, he still had more strike outs than Randy. Maybe if Randy could still pitch when hit 40, he might've had a chance but Randy's last 7 seasons had only struck out 1043 batters unlike Ryan who struck out 1437 batters in his last 7 seasons.
@Frank Bandera its just speculation tho i saod if he debut in the league at 19 or even 20 like nolan ryan did he would jave had a better shot at it versus rather than his debut at 26 because for all we know he could have been solid earlier on mlb or he may not have that is the part we wont ever know
@@totalmage56 Randy Johnson debut was shortly after his 25th birthday in '88. And he was 25 for the vast majority of the '89 season. Ryan debuted at 19 and pitched a total of 2 games with 3 innings. He didn't pitch again until he was 21. Johnson arm probably would've gave out on him at 36 if he started in the MLB at 21.
Johnson never had three straight seasons of 360+ strike outs, he never had two straight seasons unlike Nolan Ryan. 4 straight Cy Young awards would've been more impressive if Maddox hadn't already done it
The reason why there won’t be another Randy Johnson has little to do with how good he was. It’s that MLB has been so drastically changed. No pitcher will ever even have the CHANCE to win 300 games again due to how pitchers are used inning to inning. There are arms in mlb right now that are as good or better, but you’ll never know who they are.
Wouldn’t be able to do it it now; you have. Closers throwing 101 for 1 maybe 2 innings and still get walked off and give up runs that have the team comeback to tie or win
We’ll never see it again because pitchers don’t go more than 6 innings now. Dudes were just built different back then. The leagues a clown show anymore full of sissies and math.
Are you sure about that cuz if I make it I would get close to him but I can launch the ball from deep center feild to home one 1 bounce and I can hit and I'm only in 14u and I'm also a lefty
Or throwing a baseball during a live game and hitting and killing a bird now who wants some Randy Johnson KFC Bird lol I saw that live on TV when he did that and I was like KFC.

I’m so glad he played for the Dbacks all those years my late teens and early 20s were spent at so many games. Legend!!!

Saw him at an Expos game in his early days. Absolute unit of a man.
He was a freak, one of the most impressive ppl to watch.
I have a Randy Johnson painting that is 1 of 50 and it’s autographed by him!

Mainly NFL
.......or throw a pitch during an MLB game, and destroy a dove, mid flight, through his pitching plane.
That could have happened to literally any other pitcher, but it's so fitting that it happened to him.
That bird REALLY wanted a Randy Johnson game ball. Simply forgot about the physics.

Randy and Curt Schilling were the best One Two punch in baseball
And a classy, humble human being.
Why do you say that about RJ?
Left out the best clip of him when he eviscerated a bird with a fastball!
Lights out. There was no one else you would want on the mound in a more meaningful game.
The Big Unit💪🏾
Monster on the mound 😈 ⚾️
There will never be another as great as Randy Johnson
The Big UNIT ! How any leftie stayed in the box is mind blowing !
John Kruk 😂

Randy "The Big Unit" Johnson was a Beast👍
TonyGwynn had 11 ABs where he is 1-11, 0 walks, and 4 strike outs against Johnson (98+99 seasons)
“the 6’10 johnson”
I remember when he hit a bird flying past home plate! That bird blew up as soon as the ball hit it!😂
Truth
Christy Mathewson shutout his opposition 3 times in the 1905 WS.
Bro the perfect loop had so much potential
Nor will there ever be another Nolan Ryan, arguably even better
nolan isn’t even close
Possibly could there be a video like the one made like this but for Nolan Ryan?👀🥺
Nolan was great but never won a Cy Young. That’s partly because he played on some horrible teams.
Nolan Ryan got a no hitter when he was 44
There will never be another Nolan Ryan.
I’ll give the unit a 9.5 on the Ryan scale.

To be honest Scherzer or Verlander could legitimately throw a perfect game as a 41 year old
No

I would agree with scherzer. He’s got that serial killer look that randy had haha
Barry bonds once used Randy's body to shoot up ped's when forgetting to bring a needle on the road
6/10 in basket ball hed be the best in his town. In baseball hes a goat. That length makes his pitches scarry.
I’m convinced that if you ask any MLB hitter ever what pitcher scares you the most? The majority are going to say Randy, I’m positive John Kruk would.
Mad Bum had 2 wins and a 15-out save in ‘14 WS…
Can almost guarantee if Randy got his big league debut around 21 or 22 years old he could broken Ryans strikeout record
