    Thank you for a great video. I am working on this model in a few days and this information will help. My father was a WWII B17 50 Cal. gunner with 52 missions in the B17.

    Started watching to see if this build was worth getting. Thanks for the demonstration it had fantastic production quality and a very succinct video. Definitely going to get the build after I finish my Corsair model :)

    How in the world did you do this in an hour. Good job and props to you (no pun intended lol)! I put one together and gave it to my wife’s grandfather who had to jump out of one. I have another to build for myself one day. If interested I have his B-17 story posted on my channel.

    So many great tips in this video. I was literally stuck on piece #1, wasn't sure how to bend it right. Luckily I have the same mandrel set as yours. Problem solved! Thanks!
    This is a tough model. I have no idea why Fascinations says it is "Easy" difficulty on their website

    • @animateorange
      @animateorange  7 лет назад

      Glad you found the tips useful. Yeah, sometimes I don't agree with the difficulty rating either. Thanks for watching.

    I am currently doing the newer version of this same build and. It’s just not what I expected at all I’m being patient and taking my time but sooo many of the parts don’t fit very well and I’m using the same tools as you. Awesome video. I don’t know that I will do another one of these

    Hi, this is by third model I tried and it wasn't easy. Just a beginner but learned alot doing this one . Lots of your tricks and tips sure helped for a beginner. For beginners don't try this one. Of course if you want go for it. Try afew easier ones Sfirst. TAKE YOUR TIME.

    • @animateorange
      @animateorange  8 лет назад

      This one kind of fooled me. I didn't think it was going to be super easy, but I didn't expect it to be as challenging as it was. There are plenty of other started models, many of which are planes.

    cool video, it helped me a lot during my build. Btw u forgot to put one tiny tiny cylinder on top of the nose in front of the cabin... I noticed that thing after I compared my build with the reference on their website :-)

    This was my first metal model build. All I had were tweezers. It looks like a B 17 made from scrap metal.

    Hi there, thx for great videos. Would you ever consider soldering the tabs after fastening just to make it look neater. Is it even possible?

    • @animateorange
      @animateorange  7 лет назад

      jacqy eckenhausenkristel I had thought a little about it but not tried it. I have heard from others that soldiering does not work on these models and I can sort of see that being the case.

    Awesome manual skills.

  • @iamredlinerhooligan587

    Want to make it look even better? The instructions don't tell you to but give each prop blade an identical little twist so it looks like it would push air rearward like a fan.

      animateorange oh ok it's just I got it and the b 17 and one of the German planes from my uncle and it's my first time getting any or doing anything like it. I started the spitfire and I think I am getting the hang of it still on step 2. just couldn't find any videos on it to get a idea of how to do it

    • @animateorange
      @animateorange  7 лет назад

      Ryley W I definitely want to build it. It's kind of a newer one and I just haven't gotten to it yet.

      He uses either a sharpened dowel or a step thing that has different diameters along it. He also uses different beads, like marbles, the wooden ones you put on a necklace or bracelet etc. Hope this helpa

    It looks like a bitch to install, TFM models aren’t cheap but they seem to be easier for a moderate builder.

    I really like your channel ..I got a few kits that I never made yet,I prefer plastic models..so the kits that I messed up on I use them in my model kits..I really wish they would make really large kits!!

    • @animateorange
      @animateorange  8 лет назад +1

      I built plastic models years ago, back before resources like the internet. I bumbled though the best I could figure out. I wanted to start again and make that part of my channel but I really got hooked on the Metal Earth models. There have been two somewhat large models so far. One is the Eiffel Tower and the other is the Mega R2-D2. The Mega R2-D2 never officially went on sale and only dealers got it.

    • @HIGHWAYMAN9674
      @HIGHWAYMAN9674 8 лет назад

      animateorange I still would love some of the kits you built in a let's say 1\25 scale that would look hot..

      The only think I have right now are some Star Wars snap together models. I have four videos from 2014 on here. X-Wing, Millennium Falcon, and two Jedi starfighters. I somewhat recently built the Tie Fighter, but the camera was not pointed right, (I wasn't trying that hard) and it missed too much.

      animateorange I have the 1\72 Fine Molds Falcon on my desk, but the price I payed I going to do it up. lights ,photoetched, and some printed parts.. it's just a waiting on money thing for me
