Thank you to Mr Clift for inviting me to his restaurant 'Dapoer Pandan Wangi' in Bandung. And also to my excellent guide, Mr Cokey, who works with 'Raja Tour Bandung'. I learned a lot about Sundanese culture and food this day.
I like how Cokey brings you explore the cultures, foods, environment. He's explaining very well and very happy to see how you respond it ;-) Enjoying sundanese food also great for you.. Hope you'll not getting any stomach issue after dinner, lol
He just representing his own way of eating , not representing us and i wonder where did he learn to eat from .... He will get his head slapped so many time if he teaches that to the most of the kids in indonesia
All these years I imagined you come to Bandung and eat Sundanese food. Dream comes true, and you're accompanied by very nice people. That Dapoer Pandan Wangi is indeed one of the best Sundanese restaurant that serves very delicious food. Thanks to the nice owner for treating our man 😊
Dale, keep using the way you learned in India when eating with hand, since most Indonesians do the same. You may use left hand as an assist, like for ripping chicken meat, but most of us don't put food into mouth using left hand. But yeah some Indonesians have no problem to eat with left hand like Mr. Cokey.
Indonesia has many loan-words and highly influenced by the Dutch, that’s why sometimes you find Indonesian words that are typical and have same meaning with those in English, only they have different suffix, such as English: portion; Dutch: portie; Indonesia: porsi. English: organization; Dutch: organisatie; Indonesia: organisasi.
Your comment got me thinking... television is one of those words that most languages pronounce relatively similar, especially european influenced languages. It got me thinking as to why the word Television is so universal though, even in some african and asian languages... And I figure because it is the name of the initial invention, so its kind of like derived from a proper noun or brand name. That's my theory anyway lol.
@@bcoveplmene9791 actually it's not like that, in our predominantly Islamic teachings, we eat using the right hand and 3 fingers, to put food into the mouth use one of them
This is so great seeing you learning a new language with such great guides. I have never left my country Canada, but I have learned a decent amount of other languages. I live in a lucky place where lots of foreigners come; so I think it's, I just have to be confident and accepting of my fears. I will get things wrong, but I cannot get things right unless I learn what doesn't work. It's great seeing Dale do this as well with Indonesian and having support from guides to teach him the ways of the Indonesian people.
