In Cirebon we have Mega Mendung motif, in Tasikmalaya we have Priyangan motif, in Bali we have Ulamsari motif, and so on. We usually wear them for formal occasion such as attending people's wedding, traditional ceremony, etc. Teachers and students also wear Batik uniform at school every thursday or friday, depends on their school rule.

And the price for "Becak" worth it because the becak puller priced Rp 50.000 (about $ 3,25) cause he has to go back to his place or base so it counts 2 trips and Indonesian face with price increases "inflation" and they just have few passengers and should to deposit money to becak owner because they rent from the owner of becak. I'm not from Bandung but I'm from another part of the country where you can find those kind of food court in almost every mall. I'm glad that you asked them the prices,. It's not bule pricing, but they will always give you an insane pricing compared to a dedicated restaurant/food stall inside the mall or street food vendor. From my experience it's starts from 50% mark-up to eye-watering 400% mark-up in some cases. I'm fine if it's actually good meal, but most of the time you'll be disappointed and even think that you're getting scammed. You'll get a much better deal AND quality if you eat somewhere else.
Yeah they have to pay the mall rent and have to preserve good quality and clean food, and the rent not cheap. Comparing street food vendor which sometimes dont pay anything at all and sometimes dont care about the quality and sometimes dirty from open air.

I can say the price for 'Soto Bandung' is quite overprice and normally its around IDR 20k-30k and the price for pedicab is around IDR 20k from Pasar Baru to Hilton Hotel. Yes, the food is a bit more expensive than usual, those are restaurant prices. The price for rickshaw/becak service is very expensive. You have to try the food at the populist food stalls, which are very cheap and no less delicious! You can use public transportation, angkot, to travel, it's cheaper, only US$ 0.3 for a distance of 5-8 Km. I hope you don't get bored always come to Bandung, Bro!

So in my opinion your price for the soto bandung is totally makes sense. Except for your orange juice. i think it was lil bit expensive because usually the orange juice's price is just 10.000 rupiah.

Hi Dale, when you have lunch/dinner in foodcourt inside a mall or ITC like Pasar Baru (menu: Soto Bandung, Tempeh, Tofu with Steamed Rice and drinks like Es Jeruk) then that much of price you paid is ok. can't guarantee that Soto Bandung you just had but it is definitely expensive and it's quite normal in Pasar Baru, the food court inside it is rather pricy that rickshaw are actually quite bargain, they're not really common in Indonesia anymore, and those guys have to use his foot to pedal up the loaded traffic (and the route he taken you to was to prevent traffic jam), 50 was a fair price anyway the guy was totally playing with you but didn't said anything bad, it's just down hilarious, he even politely asked in 43:48 if you had eaten just yet, in Bandung local language have a great one Dale

Becak (Man-powered bicycle rickshaws) are usually 20k per km. I think they priced it as 60k initially because they wanted to take you sightseeing around Bandung before taking you to your hotel because they mentioned "Sekalian Jalan-jalan"

Hi Dale, i live in Bandung and I enjoy watching your video.
I can say the price for 'Soto Bandung' is quite overprice and normally its around IDR 20k-30k and the price for pedicab is around IDR 20k from Pasar Baru to Hilton Hotel.
For the other stuff I think the price is quite good.

it was just mass and for now there are no cases like that anymore, don't lead too much opinion on Jakarta, once again it's just mass then now it's 2023 there won't be anything like that again, especially for tourists it has nothing to do with all that stuff

Yes, the food is a bit more expensive than usual, those are restaurant prices. The price for rickshaw/becak service is very expensive. You have to try the food at the populist food stalls, which are very cheap and no less delicious! You can use public transportation, angkot, to travel, it's cheaper, only US$ 0.3 for a distance of 5-8 Km. I hope you don't get bored always come to Bandung, Bro!

The becak cost more expensive than regular one, its basically cost 15k+-/kilometer, but you pay 40k which is very overpay.
it was not that expensive though, Becak using man's full power and so many traffic restrictions on the street for that kind vehicle.. and other reason is humanity by supporting them to survive living hard

You should visit floating market, Orchid forest Cikole, and Tangkuban perahu mountain. Is very recommended place of you visit to Bandung. I've been these 3 places in Bandung, and it was an amazing experience for me. also don't forget to visit gedung sate because that is landmark of Bandung

So in my opinion your price for the soto bandung is totally makes sense. Except for your orange juice. i think it was lil bit expensive because usually the orange juice's price is just 10.000 rupiah.

Hi Dale, when you have lunch/dinner in foodcourt inside a mall or ITC like Pasar Baru (menu: Soto Bandung, Tempeh, Tofu with Steamed Rice and drinks like Es Jeruk) then that much of price you paid is ok. can't guarantee that Soto Bandung you just had but it is definitely expensive and it's quite normal in Pasar Baru, the food court inside it is rather pricy
that rickshaw are actually quite bargain, they're not really common in Indonesia anymore, and those guys have to use his foot to pedal up the loaded traffic (and the route he taken you to was to prevent traffic jam), 50 was a fair price
anyway the guy was totally playing with you but didn't said anything bad, it's just down hilarious, he even politely asked in 43:48 if you had eaten just yet, in Bandung local language

Becak (Man-powered bicycle rickshaws) are usually 20k per km. I think they priced it as 60k initially because they wanted to take you sightseeing around Bandung before taking you to your hotel because they mentioned "Sekalian Jalan-jalan"
Dan jalan di Bandung banyak one way nya, bisa jadi jalan menuju ke Hotel terlihat 1 km menurut si Dale tapi kalau untuk Becak jadi muter jauh karna satu arah itu.. jadi muter2
Tapi jujur, saya nggak tega kalau nawar ke tukang becak mendengar nafas mereka saat ngayuh saja rasanya pengen gantiin nggenjot pedal... 😑

Dale, me as an indonesian when I go to the mall usually not eat in the mall, just eat in the food stall tegall, or we called it warteg. It is usually located in the basement or in the parking lot. It got various menu and away much cheaper.
