People are getting wise to the luxury marketing. We are over it honey! Younger gen is going to hard pass and leave luxury behind.
Younger gen dont have money skills and marketed to buy buy buy
So true
@@francescathegreat1
Not Hermès: their bags are double hand-stitched over 20 hours.
If a bag can’t at least hold my phone and car key, I can’t justify buying it. It needs to be practical.
What's the point of miniture bags if they're going to be impractical, at best an expensive accessory for an expensive smart doll.😮
the point is not practicality
They are to keep their Zoloft in.
😂
@@buntyjoy1800 mini-bags are to keep all the fucks i have left to give. 🤦🏼♀️😂💀
Mini bags are the trend and less cumbersome.
Super version of shrinkflation and the "Emperor's New Clothes "!
I love small bags but I draw the line at doll size lol, a bag needs to be practical. Shrinkflation for aspirational shoppers doesn’t track.
It's the cuteness factor and people buy them as gifts.
I discovered perfume around the year 2000... just before all the IFRA rules. I felt, even then, that I had arrived at the museum exhibition just as they were taking the show down. ;-(
and they have a conflict of interest selling all their own synthetic alternatives, that aren't really alternatives because.... they say so.
No thanks. Not adults shopping for dollhouse accessories
I recently got a pair of sun glasses from LV- I ended up taking them back. Had the receipt, the purchase was in my LV account ect… well they looked at these glasses for ever, even called the manager over to look at them ect. I was so confused. They said the fakes are so good they have to really check them. Well in that moment it really clicked for me, if the fakes are so good the actual store can barely tell, I’m not spending my money on this shit anymore….
@@SpaderKoback yes people are wising up
My teenager daughter has her small collection and she’s happy…says “ I would rather travel” Me on the other hand , a little upset because I like the bags but I really think the prices are illogical!
je suis lou got robbed on holiday too.... so travelling WITH THEM is also out. expensive hotel thing too.
These micro bags are absolutely ridiculous!
That tiny Chanel bag had my heart
how stupid
Owned several Chanel pieces in my life and honestly… I’m glad I had my fun. Didn’t miss the party. I’m done with luxury (Chanel in particular) handbags. I too feel sorry for the current generation who is just discovering luxury fashion.
I’ve been put off since they use forced & poorly paid people to make the bags. (Not heard anything in the other items yet)
i appreciate LV (for now) that their classics like alma, speedy, and noé as well as their pochettes like félicie and pochette accessoires are all still under $2k, with some of them even being well under. their new releases for sure have some crazy price tags though! the capucines are chic but $7k for one, no thank you ma’am!🤣
Great video, Dacob. What do you think of minaudières? Some of them are so beautiful... for me, they are art.
There is a resale market which sells the luxury bags for cheap, so the young generation might go there instead of boutiques.
The mainstream luxury brands have become excessively focused on the bourgeois market - this has simultaneously seen the enormous growth in brand awareness as well as outrageously increasing prices at the high end to maintain the image of exclusivity. Most of the blame can be put on one man (you know who), who has virtually obliterated the mystique and integrity of several of the greatest French luxury brands.
does his name rhyme with mernard fargeault?
Merde-nard 🤭.
he insulted mothers with a tiffany rebrand (not your mother's tiffanys) errrm jewellery is MEANT TO BE intergenerational? or else why buy it? might as well buy primark costume jewels then!
I like mini bags, but those are too tiny for anything. Cute to look at it
I don't have many but also looking at downsizing. Targeting to just keep 4-5 that's more than enough
It has lost some magic I no longer feel excited everyone has them now
Bag for my earbuds. The Louis hl or mini speedy sorry is pretty complex to make the materials are small part of the cost
Moschino sock in the bag
I would sooner buy a mirror image dupe of a Chanel bag or any other luxury bag and still would worry someone would rip it off my arm!...I heard some of the rich not only carry dupes but have them in their homes on display so not to worry about theft of them....
Why would anyone want to stare at dupes bags on display in their homes. Very strange.
some replicas are like a grand or two, mirror ones, not chump change
@@mariafindlux1512 plumbers and such can case the joint and steal later
I’m like moving my head up and down I totally agree 💯
Imo the micro bags are meant as collector items, to be used as decoration
Lol....the Linda bag! Love it Dacob! 😆🤣
Thanks for the video we shall see how bad it gets 🤦♀️ 👛🛍️🚢🦆🙏
the struggle of trying to put thoughts into a coherent sentence on the spot is me every day at work🤣🤣
Listen Linda bag. I love it!
I think they are really cute, but I also think we are in a world where the majority of people are looking for practical and getting a bang for their buck. Those little bags are only good for those special occasions where wearing a larger bag is impractical. But for me, and probably most, those type of occasions are far and few between.
The vivian, gucci and chanel bag all look like they came from tj maxx ,vivian is giving betsy Johnson vibes...
ijs
Lol you know when he said VW my brain went straight for Betsy Johnson. Like no that not a VW that's a BJ
Even brands like Montblanc are recently trying to bring out handbags to lure in jaded customers from other designer brands. Problem is they're aiming mostly at men and have few colour options.
love ya! been a subscriber for years and love minis - when you showed the 255 I'm curious if you are able to maybe authenticate a purse I have.. I know its 50s and olive green lambskin - quilted - has the double flaps and insane quality...i feel it is chanel but was there dupes back then ? the people I have shown it to just don't know EARLY chanel and said it isn't but couldn't say otherwise.....I have dealt in vintage for 20 years and have sold hundreds of 50s purses and this one is special and looks like the OG 255 ....the quilting stitch on the back is a bit off center but its that dumb rumor of IF LV HAS A CUT OFF ITS FAKE - just this is 70 years old ? let me know if you are interested i can send pics
I think, we are abouuuuut 20-25 years into the commercialization of the luxury industry, and us in this time period/generation own everything we want or need. and now everything is redundant
Your collection is beautiful...I really like the LV wallet...that was a great price 👌
Ohhh... this is called shrinkflation. Shrinkflation has reached the luxury industry.
I have noticed that the tiny bags are more “affordable” if you know the secret handshake to buy direct from a boutique, but they seem impossible to come by. I have wondered if they’re really just so chic, or if even people who “can afford” any bag prefer to spend as little as possible on a tiny bag. the resale value is insane so that makes them attractive too… but idk, I’d rather normalize full size bags and end the madness. too late I realize 😅
What are you supposed to put in a handbag that size? (around three minutes)
Are there bundle deals with a Samsung Galaxy Flip?
That Chanel bag is glorious! Too bad they're not worth the money they're charging anymore.
Hey! As soon as the LV bag I bought from HQDUPE was in my hand, it was like a fashion bomb exploding in my hand! The details are as exquisitely crafted as if by little elves, and the quality is excellent.
Another amazing video! Greetings from Dallas
I use to buy Guess then I went to grapevine mills outlet saw them in a bin for $5 and started buying luxury … that was 2003
Regions! is the word 😊😊
Unless handbag prices come back down some, I will never own a Chanel bag. I’d rather save up to buy the Coco necklace in 18k beige gold. I could buy two for the price of one bag. No, thanks.
yes lets size down the already cheap canvas on lv bags...not to mention 10 bucks worth of leather .....
ROFL - been watching Tanner Leatherstein? LV IS A SICK JOKE. I wouldn't EVER pay more than $600 for a quality leather bag. There is only so much top quality leather and stitching can cost. There are too many midrange priced handbags that are just as high quality that you can get for $500 or so. Paying more than $150 for PVC SPRAYED CANVAS is BATSH1T CRAZY.
Are they selling BAGS OF CHIPS?!? 😂😂😂
For me a few influencers here on YT turned me off designer bags entirely.Luxury is not luxury when every 2nd video is an unboxing or a haul. What the heck is a haul anyways. Reminds me of Uhaul!😂 Very unhealthy consumerism, and frankly IMO a waste. I just cringed when I watched, so I deleted them. That being said, I appreciate this channel so much because of the rich variety of content such as fashion history, news, collections, relaeses, & fashion show discussions rather than hauls and unboxings. Honestly the word "haul is even hard for me to type.😂
The Munchkin bag will hold a mini lipstick, condoms. OR vitamin pills for the day after.
The Vivienne Westwood ....it's so cute and SUCH a bargain! It could go on a belt too, right?
you're so funny in this video!
I think luxury will never end or fail.
The rich will still keep buying it’s just that middle class purchase has lower.
They will still have their client influencer/celeb/millionaire/photoshoot/model etc etc
Were the crux of their business if you haven’t seen the business market lately. They want our money just not us in their spaces. They thought they could do it without us and their finding it’s not so easy to profit without us. It’s failing because the cost of living has risen and the middle class is finding it harder to justify the purchase plus they’ve priced themselves against travel.
Missing the point. Maybe yachts, gold, stock but most people who are truly rich have their money in real estate not a closet full of Chanel and Hermes. I’m talking proper rich normal people not the Kartrashians. It’s the end of luxury as we knew it in the 00s.
@@tarreemhacaruso2687 and people are moving abroad.
@@mocab3545 Paris Hilton is also tacky, apparently there was a destiny swap spell between the two so makes sense though.
Did you forget the tiny 🖤 Chanel? I understand what you’re saying but I’m a sucker for those tiny useless bags
luxury ain't luxury anymore! NO QUALITY!
Space for one tick tac or a Connie for a night out. 😂
What does this do to their SLG market?
Basically they want to sell us expensive SLGs and call them bags like a trinket for us peasants. I’m good. They have enough old crap in existence that I could utilize just as well. Cut out the middle man
The mini Chanel bag’s price is actually 4950 Euro…
Now, used to be 2000ish four years ago.
@@mocab3545 As a matter of fact, I bought mine for 3500 Euro in 2021,, so the price increases were huge.
@@mocab3545 I bought mine in 2021 for 3500 Euro, which is still a huge increase but not as quite as suggested. The regular sizes were most affected.
I bought mine for 3500 Euro in 2021. Not quite 2000 Euro as told in the video, but it is still a pretty steep price increase. The regular sizes got hit the most.
Cost $10 to make , no thanks 😂
Absolutely 💯," no thanks." These are just ridiculous and only meant for children."
Shrinkflation 😂

sorry but luxury to me means quality, comfort, uniqueness. these brands are not it
