i preorder a CF in white caviar light gold hardware and the SA took my credit card to keep on file so it could be charged when the bag arrived with a copy of my ID. when it came through they charged my card, that's how I knew it had arrived. she then called me and I went. i was hoping they would tell me its here, give me the chance to look at it and decide. because what if I didn't want it. now we have do to the return, how awkward. when it could have been avoided if you just said, it's here you have x time to come a view it or else we will move on.
Just to be clear, chanel does not do pre orders regularly. Its at their discretion if they want to grant a person a pre order. When that happens, pre orders are made right after a new collection is presented on the runway. The client has time about a week or so after the collection was shown on the runway to contact their SA and ask if that boutique can pre order any of the pieces for them that they have seen on the runway. The buyer of the boutique goes to Chanel in France to do the order for the boutique and the buyer does this about a week after the show was presented. After the buyer did the buying for the boutique, pre orders are closed because the order cut off dates have also been reached. The boutique actually places an extra order for you if your pre order gets accepted. This means that your pre order affects the boutiques set purchasing budget for next season. In other words, your pre order takes away from their budget to order another piece instead. Usually your SA is responsible for your pre order and if they allow too many customers to pre order things which later do not get purchased by said customers once the pieces arrive to the boutique then that SA can get in trouble with the manager. So the SAs weigh in carefully from whom they will accept pre orders and if in the past they have been burned, they might have been asked by the manager to request a credit card on file for the pre orders. Having said all that, it is not habitual for chanel to ask for any card information or money upon accepting a pre order in their boutiques. This is valid for pre orders made right after a collection has been shown on their website. If, on the other hand, you wanted to ask the boutique if they will receive a bag you like but that request happens after the pre order cut-off dates, then that boutique cannot pre order the bag for you but can, if they wish to do so, look into what exactly they already ordered for next season and check if they placed an order for the bag that you wish to purchase. They need to then check if said bag was a pre order for someone else or if it was ordered for the boutique in general. If it was ordered for the boutique in general then the SA might be able to get you the bag once it arrives to the boutique but that is not technically allowed by chanel in many countries since they changed their policy on reservations of newly launched collections. The SA might have taken your card information down because of the new chanel sales rules about new collections, in order to avoid the bag being sold to somebody else instead of you upon its release. Their new rules are: first come first served. No reservations in new release items. With that new rule, there is no reserving the bag for you unless the bag is paid for the moment it arrives to their boutique stock room. Your SA can use your card information to pay the bag immediately upon its arrival and that way secure the bag for you, because reservations on new products are not allowed. Allegedly everything of course. So you see, its not very simple and there are hurdles to overcome when it comes to chanel pre orders and reservations. The two are different. I hope this clears things up.
i was on holiday at Paris mandarin oriental hotel and when we came bk to our hotel room in the evening , there were Chanel packages on our bedroom hotel floor , a note was on it with a different name and hotel room number so I quickly called concierge and they came immediately to take it away . I literally did not touch it bcus it’s obvious very expensive items inside 😂
Are there no cameras in the store???? This is such an odd situation! LV does require payment of preorders, and often through a pay link. I’m with you Dacob, refunding of the money should be done without question, especially if Ashley has an established relationship with an SA!!!
I agree. And yes, LV always asks for money up front for pre orders made in their stores. Chanel does not request payment for pre orders made in their boutiques but they do request payment up front for pre orders made on eyewear on their website.
This happened when I worked at Gucci in the 90s, two men came in together and they seemed to be friends, they shopped, then paid, and said will you hold it I’ll be back, later one came back and the merchandise was given to him, later on the other came back and the sales associate said your friend picked it up, then he said that wasn’t my friend, I was just talking to him, so Gucci gave the man every single item he bought, so it could be scam
I strongly agree with your argument on your video... i want to add my incentives which is that usually boutiques when you make a purchase online to pick up in store they should always have a system to be sure to verify the person of the order of the purchase by providing documentations to verify the purchase using a Photo ID (eg. Government State ID, or Passport) in order to verify that you are actually the person that ordered the purchase of Pre-Order or any particular expensive purchase in any way.
I am curious if she is confused by the term pre order vs ordering from another boutique. I have had to order in my Chanel store, from another boutique, paid for it via a pay Link with my SA, and then picked it up a few days later from the boutique. But to be fair this was for shoes, not a bag.
Great video Dacob!! ✨✨ I’ve paid for an item through a link and asked my brother to go pick it up, but my SA knows us, bc we’ve shopped with her for years. Tbh, if the item is over a certain amount, it’s a crime, & she could file a police report.
I was in kind of similar situation. My SA allowed me to preorder a bag - I paid full price before the boutique received it via a pay link - ok my risk. I'm in the EU, I couldn't pick it up myself, so I had to have it shipped, I was a regular at this boutique. I received a bag, everything was ok, UNTIL I heard from my PREVIOUS SA that she doesn't work for Chanel anymore...Apparently there was another important customer who had this bag reserved...but I paid before she/he could see it. Honestly, I feel terrible and haven't bought anything from them since that, but of course your history is much much worse. I just felt it's worth sharing. (sorry for my English, it's my third language)
You have outstanding fun videos and your knowledge is super helpful. I know you are a fellow LV devotee. I just received my second order from LV replacing a defective LV small agenda cover and it is slightly flawed with what looks like a small bit of glue on the front cover. I will keep it hoping over years it will patina off the glue. I would never buy LV on-line again or order a Chanel bag through a link. This fashion houses are in decline in service and quality. Tragic for us devotees. I can see where people would rather pay for a quality super fake! Although I never ever would do that!
Uhhh I have a tip for the glue residue on the canvas… this was told to me by me then SA from LV… she took a regular white pencil eraser!! And erased over the glue residue on top of the canvas and the glue came off immediately! I was shook! Try at your own risk of course and this worked for canvas. Not sure of she would have done it with leather as well. Good luck 💖💖💖
@@SuperDacob Thank you! I remember in one of the videos you said the canvas on your zip wallet actually became shiny as it was held and used more. I’ve used it over just a few days the spot has vanished! I will remember your tip though. Thank you for the videos you post. You are fabulous! 💕
About returning the item that came as a "freebie". If I make my 100 000 usd purchase of seasonal items, have them shipped, If I am already a loyal big spender, I would possibly think that this is a gift from a house. It would not even cross my mind that they might have had a misfortune to insert someone else's purchase to my order. It is not about being dishonest, I really would think that, Oh, look! Chanel gave me a free bag! Does that make me a bad person? :)
But usually when they send a special gift, they also include a note to say thank you for being a loyal client and this is our token of appreciation to you or similar and the gift is usually wrapped extra nicely…
The big spender who received an extra bag probably didn't notice. Happens with people who are fluent in shopping. They order order order and forget what they even got by the time the big package comes.
The paylink thing is common with LV preorders and Hermes does it too for remote orders and then you can have it delivered to you or you can go to pick it up in store when it comes in or when you’re ready. This situation is ridiculous though. I wouldn’t have left until they either give me my item, figure out what happened, or refund my order. You should need proof of ID and an order number to pick up items!
Maybe they didn’t give the money back because they thought it was all a bit suspicious…..🤔 BTW I’ve received an extra bag recently and I returned it. Thought it was bad karma. Still waiting for something great to happen….😂

Especially during the first week when a new collection just came out and they’re very busy with a lot of clients coming to pick up their pre-orders.

Of course the store does not give your money back if someone has picked up the item. This would be such an easy way to steal from them. There are really only three options: 1) The item is still somewhere at Chanel 2) Somebody who knew about the paid preorder took it. This could be one of her "friends" or somebody who works at Chanel or has a connection with it (delivery driver? Cleaning staff?). 3) She send an accomplice
Honey, I was asked to pay in advance for Chanel to order something for me as they did not have it in store. Just saying here that that part could be accurate.
Is preorder through the Chanel leased department stores different? I asked for certain items, granted classic pieces or already released items, my Chanel Neiman Marcus did not have in store, but was able to transfer the items. However I was asked for payment info if my SA was able to secure the requested item before seeing the actual item myself. So I had to preorder it. In a way I guess it’s considered a send sale. Do you mean preorder on items not yet in stock or released to boutiques?
For pre-orders they take your card info and charge it only when the item arrives. Paying via link is in-for store items only! Unless the process has changed? Also when you pick up they make you sign something right? I have always signed even if it’s my SA that hands me my purchase. What happened is really weird…. I wouldn’t leave either if they don’t give me a refund!
Perhaps she paid a scam site. They post authentic pics of designer items, but it's just a front. As far as l know, you can't buy online. You can hold but you have to go in for pick up.
KWShops had an interesting video about the marketing hype of Chanel you might find interesting. Basically whether these brands require a legend to sell us things. Especially a woman at the centre of them.
Obviously she’s going to get her money back. She did not receive the product. That or they’ll just hunt down the exact same bag….it might take a few weeks but she’ll eventually get her bag
I can see someone who is not a regular paying via link sending a spouse to collect it or a friend then going and making up a story that they did not send anyone. Getting their money back from the store or filing with their Amex thereafter. It's grand theft which is a felony if she is in the US. I am not saying she specifically did that but I am wondering of ways that could happen especially SHE went and paid ahead. Why? Sus for sure. Or if it's a new SA and she is in on it? I don't know Dacob the world is scary now. You cannot trust anyone. Or the SA had someone pick it up knowing it was prepaid and let the store and the client deal with this "innocent" mixup. Several immoral scenarios possible.
This Ashley girl is lying. If your pre-orders do not have to be paid for until you come in and pick them up probably what happened was they sold her pre-order to somebody else she's just pissed off.
Dear Dacob. Maybe it’s best to just let up off Bethenny altogether. As can be seen on her channel she lost her mother about a month ago and is experiencing a lot of stress and grief around it. I’m saw her first in her short about not being let into Chanel, then her dressed up short when she went back there. I’ve since glanced through her channel and see all that she is going through. We each have our ‘stuff’, no need to pick at them while they’re down. Cheers my friend.
You decide to spam the internet with your public videos about public topics which could be relatable to others and expect no reaction at all? Nope. Thats not how it works. If you decide to keep making public videos then you are fair game for reaction videos too and shall not be spared. If you are grieving, then you can always step away from the internet and stop posting videos until you have had your closure and peace. I did not make any reaction or analytical videos about anybody’s grief. I am analyzing a video she made about Chanel. Her private life is none of my business.
Good lord if it was allegedly a “friend” who collected said item, poor Ashley doesn’t need any enemies so to speak. Unsure how “pay-link” works in the US (might be a different term of payment method to 🇦🇺 ). However if the “pay-link” was attached to a credit card in 🇦🇺 & you do NOT receive said goods or service & the provider - Chanel in this case admitted the item was given to “someone else” as a consumer Ashley would be given a refund. I’m shook, who the……. doesn’t ask for ID when picking up a “pre-paid” item it’s not a discount dollar store for heaven’s sake. I don’t have the TikTok app due to alleged security issues. Please, please Super Dacob keep us informed on the situation. Ty for the vlog. 🦘🐨🇦🇺😘💐

Right. Some stores ask for a deposit but not PIF. If your SA didn’t release it, who did? Whole thing is sus. Is she trying to increase her followers?

Sounds sus honestly, how would they not have a record of who did the pickup? And why would she leave without her item or a refund?
When you buy expensive jewellery you are given a reference number which you have to quote when you pick up the order.
The bags have serial numbers so it would be risky to sell a bag you received in error.
This is super scary if true. Wow

It is bad karma. I'd want my money back. Maybe she wanted to pay in advance. I think it was misplaced or sold to someone else.
Ps. But I would keep my wendys extra burger 😂
😂😂😂.."oh cute!"😂😂😂
GIRL THEY DO WHEN YOUR A VIC
Her private life is none of my business.
oh no, I am sure Chanel will get the bag back.
I think Ashley is a grifter like Bethenny
i was in her account and she was refunded sh said o comment.
I'd give it back. They should give her a store credit.
Or money back is even better. No?
