Looking forward to it--and particularly the Tone King plug in if they ever release it for the QC!
Man lots of hate for the quad on here. It’s a great unit. Yes they are behind on some of their promises and effects etc. but it’s still an amazing unit even in its current state
I have had my Quad Cortex for a little over a year and have been quite pleased with it, and the updates I've seen so far. As a capture device, it's so far ahead of the others. I feel that Neural has been busy and committed to trailblazing the Quad Cortex.
I have both and tone X is better for captures tbh
Finally. I am more excited for the pitch correction, transpose and doubler. I really hope they include some form of harmonizer in a future update!
They have a harmonizer
@@ethanchandler3934yes but it’s not an intelligent harmonizer. It doesn’t quite work as well for vocals as it does for guitar.
0:03 Biggest update ever? Helix and Helix Native: are we a joke to you?
Fair argument lol
Sounds like Neural is very close to finalizing the architecture of this machine. Having to outlive the bad press is a challenge when you release things unfinished. I think the one thing I see is that people don’t really learn how to fully use these devices and buy things expecting it to have stock presets out the box that matches their sound. Everyone has a particular sound and there’s no way any company could make a device that instantly produces your sound it requires some learning and some work to get the sound you want. The additions of the midi and browser/folder refinements are much appreciated.
SOON™
Yeah - don't believe anything until it lands folks.
SOON.....lol
Super Steve!! Great content as always brotha 💪
Looking forward to your 1st video when software released !
Selling my Kemper and buying the QC was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Can you tell why you feel this way?
@sixstringoverdrive6837 mainly simplicity, Kemper was a little complicated. First time I turned on the QC I was able to put something together in a few minutes. Kemper is a great modeler but for me it came down to ease of use.
Ist was Like Switching From Android to Apple 😂
@@RobertDeerapple is ass
Can you tell me how the QC feels ? Feel better than the Kemper in the Dynamics responses??
I gig the QC and previously tried Helix, but couldn’t stand it. QC sounds and feels more real to me and I’m someone that has played valve amps for decades. Not perfect, but much better than Helix and Kemper. This update sounds amazing!
4 years after they released the QC and made these promises and still took them 4 months from this annoucement to finally released these features that should've been released 3 years ago. What a frustrating company this is.
Great news for QC owners! Looking forward to seeing how well the new features are implemented.
Great video, Steve! I'm very excited about the MIDI improvements. I've been using a Line 6 Stomp XL in the Midi chain to send CC's to my different amp heads. Really excited to have the QC send those CC messages right to my amps. I run my QC a lot in 4CM, sometimes adding a Capture instead. Total hybrid rig! This is an excellent OS Update. I don't care if they add new Amp Models. Captures or Die here. 🤘
You can see how the plugins are going to appear on the QC in update #41. It looks like in essence it will be a new category of blocks
Curious how it will work in practice. If it swings I will buy one.
The thing what really fuckin me up is: I paid 1700 euros for the qc and aren't able to use its full potential - I need to buy additional plugins to achieve it. Makes me angry and I hope honestly, that we'll get a discount of I 50% for plugins, if you actually own a qc
Beat Me' Whip Me' Make me write bad checks.🤣
Hey, that's great! But wait, I sold mine so I don't care. Day late and a Dollar short, Neural!
Fair play
My TMP died and I tried this as an alternative to waiting for a repair.
I'm keeping it... 3.0 has me excited! Until then by MacBook comes along with the QC... We're playing Fortin live! Wicked
8:53 All us QC users felt that one. 😄
After 3.0, if they ever add .wav playback to the looper (as most modern loopers can do), I will ask no more from Neural ever again... for I will have all of which I have ever dreamed. [cue majestic music here]
Still hesitating with the tmp. Features on the QC are really nice. But the tmp UI is really attractive.
Steve ! Great videos ! I just bought a QC April 20th 2024 & wanted to find a video series to help me understand the QC a bit better! Can you tell me where or who is producing start up tutorials to help a newcomer.
I want to build a few Presets (Rigs) that will contain 8 scenes per Preset (Rigs) that will be setup for one specific guitar. I have 4 electric guitars & 1 acoustic that I want to support with a dedicated Preset (Rig) for each guitar with 8 scenes.
I tried to build a Preset (Rig) but didn't succeed so I could use some help.
I own a 30 watt Lonestar which I've used for the last 10 years along with a Digitech 2101 since 1996 but the 2101 is falling apart every time I play. I Bought 2 spares on Ebay but my I've had a Cornea transplant so my eyesight is really lousy & it's currently reduced to 50%. Initially I bought a Fractal AxeFX 111 last year but was hard pressed to view it to edit. So, that's why I bought the QC. At least now I can see the screen on the QC! I'm sorry to bother you, but maybe you can point me in the right direction if you have time?
BASIC Concept
#1 : I'm planning to build one basic master Preset (RIG) that has 8 scenes.
#2: I will copy this master to additional Presets that will have 8 scenes per Preset (RIG)
#3: There will be a 6 Additional Presets (Rigs) where I will dedicate 1 preset for each guitar.
#4: I want to setup the appropriate level for each guitar.
#5: Preset (Rig) #2 to support a Telecaster
#6: Preset (Rig) #3 to support a Stratocaster
#7: Preset (Rig) #4 to support a Les Paul
#8: Preset (Rig) #5 to support a Gibson 335
#9: :Preset (Rig) #6 to support a Taylor Acoustic
NEXT
6 Presets (Rigs) to contain 8 scenes in each Preset (Rig)
Scene #1 : Clean Rhythm
Scene #2 : Room Rhythm
Scene #3 : Chorus
Scene #4 : Rock Rhythm
Scene #5 : Clean Solo
Scene #6 : Clean Ballad Solo
Scene #7 : Rock Room Solo
Scene #8 : Rock Stadium Solo
Thank you, Tele' O'neil
How does the QC stack up now, against the FM9?
that was me, all last week
@@johanjotun1647 still doing my research lol
Payed for EVERY plugin so it will be available in yuour QC
Well that match Helix wins easely you pay 99$ or even less when they have discount for Helix Native and it includes EVERYTHING that is in Helix hardware and EVERY update for Helix will also be free for Helix Native aswell not to mention you only need ONE plugin in your Daw not alot of different plugins
I'm so on the fence with QC and this company. On the one hand, it sounds great and seems to be a great solution. But on the other hand, I've heard of failures on the road, freezes in the system, and quite frankly - it's a unit that has been vastly over-promised. I'm happy with my Kemper Stage and I'm not a plugin person, so I'll stick where I am. Kemper already has several of the features that are just coming out for QC. Honestly, QC has been out for (4) years and is just getting improvements with folder management?
I don't have QC but this seems to be a great idea. I have the Fractal FM9 and hope they introduced plugins at some point in time, that can be imported into the hardware.
A doubler effect usually doesn’t track what youre playing. It makes copies of the signal and detunes and delays them
So i'm retireing our digitech RP-1 (1993's flagship processor) when the QC arrives, hopfully this thing can work for 30yrs b4 it starts acting up
Go Neural QC. Can't wait for this update so that we hopefully stop hearing people complaining about the Plug-In capability. Just kidding. Looking forward to the pitch options and PCM delay.
the QC brand new is like 1600GBP the fact it could only do one midi message per footswitch for 4 years is incredible, and to think people are comparing it to the axe fx 3 🤣
One issue in the editor is that if you're in your preset selection and want to shift it to 1C, it copies the preset on 2A and pastes it into a new location in the list, keeping both. I wish I could drag the preset to the desired spot on my list without making a copy, and the new preset ends with (_1). thanks. Is sidechaining present in other models? I still don't comprehend. Is it using the CPU?
With great power comes great responsibility.
We can talk tone all day long, but I just can’t get past the fact that Line 6 runs their business better than anyone else. I just prefer to live in their world (not constantly trying to sell me stuff, instead regularly providing free updates).
Wow, there is no sidechain for noise gate? I mean,, that's what any noise gate with fx loop is doing. its sidechaining your clean guitar so that it will cut the gate after the to cut all the noise out.without the side chain, it takes a lot longer for a gate to clamp down, unless you put it in front of your signal chain, but then you have no control over all the noise that is introduced after the gate.
SO excited for the new update!
I sold mine a long time ago. The Transpose on the plug-ins works awesome and would be cool on the QC. Wonder how much dsp the plug-in compatibility is going to use. This has taken so long the unit is oddly feeling old now.
I just want an octave fuzz [cries]. It's on the "will be added in a future update" list but..
Thanks for sharing this infa pacjkage. Now i'm afraid i'm going to buy one.
Pretty soon Line 6 will allow us to run Helix Native on our Helix!
Oh, wait ! 🤣😅🤣😅
It’s wild that I still think I would prefer helix despite it being 4 years older.
I’m a helix guy. Absolutely LOVE the platform. I have access to a Quad to work on some presets for some folks and have been enjoying the Quad and its interface. That being said… I’m leaning back toward Helix even more. We’ll see what happens but using the Quad has made me appreciate the Helix even more.
Looks like this might be a good time to own a QC.. I do love the size.. I should of kept mine...
I have seen used ones going for $1200-1400. Grab another one and never look back. I’ve had every imaginable modeler and have been really happy with the QC. I still have an HX Stomp as well but never use it.
@@TheJonOsborne it’s the way to go..
I’ve had them all, i now only own the QC
Helix is fully mature with 3x the effect choice...and still put out MORE of those in the last year.
Still waiting for the aggressive release schedule they advertise. Or even some of the 2020 "launch day" listed devices.
As non plugin owner, NDSP seems to be using their obvious small dev team working on things that aren't going to benefit all QC owners. Really hope the surprise is nothing short of all the plugin amps/effects will be added for all QC owners.
Still love how easy mine is to use. But hate how slow NDSP has been with getting more effects/amps. So much snakeoil from their owners back in 2020 and 2021. The current pace might give them parity with fractal and helix by the time helix 3 and the axefx5 are out ;)
Does it mean I wouldn't need my mc6 pro to control my pedalboard and leave it to the QC?
I believe they said they said the plugins will be in the form of individual blocks fir amps and effects.
Very excited for these updates!!!!
Still no user scale harmoniser..............il just stick with mt boss gt for now.........
Super useful explanation. I saw the email, but still couldn't work out the sidechaining stuff. Your explanation helped me out. Cheers!
My fm9 kicks ass so not interested BUT I do hope QC gets it together at some point.
I totally regret getting rid of mine for this half stack iconic 80 watts
Those features sound awesome! I can't wait to try them out. But I really wish they'd update the assistance amps and give us more options to tweak them.
Curious as to if the "presets", artist and otherwise that come with the plugins will be available now on the QC when this happens and how that will be implemented.
Steve, any update on the "gift" the early adopters are receiving?
There wasn't a transpose feature already?
It’s crazy how many touring bands are using these now vs Axe or Kemper. It used to be rare and now it’s almost commonplace.
Everyone has an AxeFx 3 Take a look at the bands rigs.
Great. Maybe the resale value will make it worth selling.
I am not a QC owner, but doesn’t offering plug-in compatibility seem like going around your ass to get to your elbow?….just create models of the plug-in amps,or captures for the QC?….I am sure it wouldn’t have taken 4 plus years to model those amps for the QC….Fractal and Line 6 do it all the time…
Fair point !
@@SteveSterlacci just seems like it would be a lot less trouble…that’s why God created firmware updates..
They claim it will be released sometime in Q2. So, in theory, between the beginning of April to the end of June.
NDSP has claimed lot sof things. Like Dug posting on TGP in Feb 2021 about how the desktop editor would be out a couple months after release and plugin porting was trivial and being done already. Or in interviews saying with machine learning models could be done in a day or less. I think they need better machiens since we've got 10 channels from 3 amps in the last 18? 20? months.
Then again they have been better at hitting targets since they stopped letting him post ;)
Nice SterlacciMan shirt.
There's really nothing here I think I need. I might use the doubler, IDK. I use the ADR or whatever Line 6 calls it in Helix Native. It should sound cool on solos for live I guess. Not that big of a deal to me. I might buy a plug in to see what the hoopla is about. A native version I could use as a plugin on my DAW would be really cool, but I don't mind committing to a guitar tone so no big deal. I'm non-plussed.
Still light years behind Fractal!!! These new features ! Wow - how many years have you been waiting ?
Lmao, no one cares. fucking weirdo
And so your point is? I mean, this cant be your point, right? Please tell me you're not stupid enough to come here sit through a video that has nothing to do with fractal just so you could say its light years behind! Tell me, how do you like fractals capture function. Oh, that's right, it doesn't have one. And that's derogatory against fractal. it's against you and your inability to see that what fractal does and that neural does are not the same thing. they both have a far different approach. And you know what's great. You can still be a fan of one without degrading yourself to the standards of a complete idiot!
Is the volume control global finally?
Or do we still have to program every single preset
That's going to always be on the user to do. Every single modeler on the market needs users to tweak their outputs to match each other. An output meter would be the request to have
@@SteveSterlacci no on kemper the expression pedal is global for volume.
I have the quadcortex for a year but never touched it again because of this. There are a lot of presets on the QC but you dont need to change any of them to youre taste... but a volume control Just has to be global
@@SteveSterlacci i mean on the kemper you Just program this once and its .... global
@@SteveSterlacci thats exactly the reason that you dont have to tweak every single preset ... you can do this with a volume pedal during a gig an try other sounds on the fly
@@Emanuelassies but isn't tweaking the volume pedal also still tweaking the preset? I think a global volume control would be very useful in your case either way!
Who cares anymore
Thanks for the heads up - been using my QC for a couple years now, has only gotten better with each update and thanks for keeping us in the loop. Side note - I think I was sitting a row behind you at the Perfect Circle ⭕️ show in SD. What a show!
Garbage product garbage company. Get an FM9 trust me.
How is the FM9 at captures?
Why on earth would I do that (trust you that is..)
@@lonnyhandwork422because I’m not getting paid by Neural and I have had both products. Haha
No
Meh . 🫤 this is what I want : 1 . A decent plug 🔌 industrial standard, 2 fender reverb tank (3 of which are used in nearly all of their amps).
