    Beautiful vines. Pretty labor intensive, but you wind up with very realistic vines. Thanks for sharing this.

    These would look awesome in my reptile vivariums. I know the great stuff is safe and all but I am unsure of the paint/stain. I use silicon without mold resist so, I am thinking maybe if that sealer seals everything well. I am just not sure though.

      I wouldn't use the paints or stain I did in a vivarium or bioactive setup. I'd stick to the silicone coated in coconut fiber, sand and moss. I have a big 60 gallon bioactive setup for an anole.

      Mainly from royalty free artists on RUclips, but a few from free to use sites as well. There is a credit for whoever I use at the bottom of each video description. I'm rather fond of White Bat Audio at the moment.

    Looks great! How long did it take?

    • @OakLaneCemetery
      @OakLaneCemetery  2 года назад +3

      An afternoon to tie the 4 ropes with twine, another to coat with Great Stuff and let it set and about 4 hours to paint each one. (Drying time between colors) The stain has to set for a day or so, then you can clear coat with the Gorilla patch and seal. It's not a super quick project, but it's a pretty simple one.

    You’re using jute twine, right?

    • @OakLaneCemetery
      @OakLaneCemetery  2 года назад

      I used a big spool of garden twine that was given to me last summer. It's pretty generically labeled. Any "fuzzy" twine made from natural fibers should work just fine.

      What is that? Is it weatherproof? These are meant to be outside for weeks at a time and get rained on and lots of sun on them.
