Once in a generation, a comedian comes along who speaks to everyone. Today, that comedian is known simply as Michael Jr.
Imagine a line from Bill Cosby to Jerry Seinfeld and you'll have an idea of Michael's influences. Watch him onstage and you'll see a man at ease...with himself, his audience, and his message. Listen to his voice and you'll detect a comfortable, conversational style that hides a sly sense of mischief. Hear his words and you'll laugh at the universal themes that connect us all.
Hailed as one of today's most gifted comedians, Michael's entry into comedy was almost preordained. Years ago in a crowded Grand Rapids, Michigan movie theater, the projector malfunctioned. The film snapped, the house lights came on, and acting on a dare, young Michael jumped in front of the restless crowd and took center stage. When the theater manager tried to usher him out, the audience demanded he stay...and Michael Jr. discovered his gift.
Comedian George Wallace offered Michael his first break when he took him to the legendary Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, home of Jay Leno and "The Tonight Show" staff. The club's owner slipped Michael onstage...and a week later Michael was performing at the "Just for Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal, where he became the first comedian to ever appear live via satellite on "The Tonight Show."
That performance catapulted Michael's career and has resulted in additional appearances on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, TV One, The Late, Late Show, BET's ComicView, Jimmy Kimmel Live, SiTV, CNN, The Tom Joyner Show, The Bob and Tom Show , DayBreak USA and Bryon Allen's Comic Unleashed and ComedyTV. You'll also find him at the most prestigious comedy clubs across the nation, including The Improv, The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, The Punchline, The Comic Strip, and Zanies Comedy Club. And, if that's not enough - Michael's versatility takes him from major universities such as Notre Dame, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Alabama, to church events ranging from the 60,000 member Willow Creek Church in Chicago to the 17,000 member West Angeles Church in L.A to the 10,000 member New Life Church in Colorado Springs.
How can one man be equally at home in the heartland and the inner city, churches and prisons, corporate events and youth rallies? Michael calls it comedy accountability.
"If I'm in a club, my material has to be clean enough to work in a church. If I'm in a pulpit, it has to be funny enough to work in a club."

I'm not even gonna lie....I've been having some trouble with my faith.....not doubts,I just feel like I don't truly have the Holy Spirit,like I did something, something to mess it up, and I can't figure out what. And when he started preaching near the end, I thought I was just gonna listen, and then think about it. But I started crying, because it felt like he was talking and looking straight at me. Seriously...may Jesus bless this man right here.Amen.
Amen. No worry's, all believers go through what you are. I like to call it the believers hill. Where Satan is on full attack, throwing everything he's got at us. But here's the thing, through Christ, all things are possible. With God, there's nothing that can take you down, God loves each and every one of us, and there's nothing you can do to keep Him from doing so. Remember always, no mountain is high enough that He can't climb, no shadow is dark enough that He can't brighten, and there is no struggle hard enough that you can't make it through with Him. Amen

+Kminr If I may, I'd like to point out that scientists ad experts have yet to find solid, rock hard proof that Jesus doesn't exist. While some of them may say he isn't real, then provide some reason and evidence why, when you go and do your own research on it, you find counter evidence or explanations. Until I receive solid evidence that God does not exist, I will continue to believe in and worship him. And if you call me an idiot for that last part, then I am happy to point out that you had the choice to go with "insult" or "backup my point", and you chose the stupider one.

Powerful comedy
I like his analogies, and he is funny. It's nice to hear comedy without the distraction of every other word being a cuss word.

I didn't expect to watch the whole video, but I couldn't stop watching.
I am so blessed to hear his story and what God has done through M. Jr's life.

He's on my favorite list with Tim Hawkins; they are the best Christian comedians I have heard thus far. So I pray God will send more into the world of comedy to share Jesus and show "worldly comedians" how to really laugh, in Jesus Name.

I didn't start enjoying it really until it turned into ministry around 23:00, sometimes God has to use different methods to reach others and I loved how he used this comedian...
I was just in search for a better way to pray in the eyes of the lord. I came upon this video and enjoyed, I followed through with his prayer and I began to cry. The lord works in mysterious ways and I truly believe this is one of those "signs". God bless the world that we are living in at this very moment, one love.

I guess it depends upon how you view it. It depends upon if it becomes an idol in your life. I recently found in my life that I made a relationship more important to me than God. And because of it, I did exactly what happens at 22:30ish in this video. I cracked the door to get what I needed, but I kinda shut him out of that relationship. Unfortunately, it took me losing my relationship for me to understand this. So, physically, it might not kill you, that doesn't make it any safer for your spiritual life, and it doesn't make it any less painful when it comes time to see your sin face to face.

Yeah, stand up can be one of the worst things imaginable to somebody because there is no filter, and there's not a lot of people that represent God in their stand up. I could name some really good people in stand up comedy, but they don't know the Lord. But it's guys like this that make me want to do stand up, haha. It's far from my dream, but I always thought it'd be something I might really like.

Very good performer. I don't believe in God, but I believe this guy sincerely does. I have huge respect for anyone living their life with integrity. I'm not a believer but when I see people whose faith makes them stronger and kinder it is impossible for me not to appreciate that beauty! :)

And I am doing some Christian work, and have been laid off no -0- income four mos. but God tells me to call this place or this place, Mortgage paid for four mos. I and Son started the Bachelor program, I got a letter, random, someone paid two of my bills, I had to get rid of Vehicles, but now, I keep having a feeling all day, Big money is coming? I submitted to God & just been working on work for God, also put 100 resumes+ Interviews, but now I am getting up kneeling praying, I am doing Bible studies, and all my bills are paid on a new home, which will be paid off in 3 years! I only decided to believe in his power, two business I will be starting as soon as God sends the money, and more, I am nobody, nonthing but someone who believed God is who he said he is!
That was so awesome and had me crying at the power of God to use our hurts for our victory. I'm about to turn 34 in Jesus (I became new on March 5, 1983), and He never ceases to surprise me and change me. He's put up new curtains today. Finally, God uses people to proclaim his name, so he is not a 'salesman', he is using comedy to proclaim the free Good News to people.

(I don't know you, but the words "cool" and "bright" are the ones that come to my mind about you for some reason.) You can deny Him, but He died for you out of love and He won't stop loving you. Jesus was never separated from God the Father but when He took our sin on the cross. You may think you were never with Him, but He was always with you. I can't imagine what Jesus did, being separated from God for such a long time. I could never do that. There's so much more to God than just the mere fact that He exists. signoguns I'm going to assume you are not a troll and did your best to offer encouragement. If you don't mind I would like to give you some tips. If you need to make a point of comparison make a point of comparison to Jesus only. He is the cornerstone. Well intentioned or not we look like a pharasie to everyone else. Also, we are not to be a stumbling block to others. That doesn't mean we are dismissive. That means we approach with gentleness and humility. Speak the full truth in love. You are 100% correct in your thinking but your approach needs a touch more grace. You would have been right in there with the sons of thunder.
For Terri M, I hope you find a bible teaching church that sparks the flame. But I would challenge you to expand your view of the church as a place where you can grow to help others through the saving grace of Jesus. Who knows, maybe God is going to call you to be that very powerful speaker. Sig is right on giving yourself completely but it is a struggle on figuring out how from time to time. The Lord is patient with us, be patient with yourself. But know there is hope in the Lord and He will complete the good work He has begun in us.

I immediately thought of his testimony that he gave when he gave the alter call. That was so truthful and believable you could not resist God calling. The analogy of the house is spot on for many of us.
